A Characterization of the Two-weight Inequality for Riesz Potentials on Cones of Radially Decreasing Functions

    Get PDF
We establish necessary and sufficient conditions on a weight pair (v,w)(v,w) governing the boundedness of the Riesz potential operator IαI_{\alpha} defined on a homogeneous group GG from Ldec,rp(w,G)L^p_{dec,r}(w, G) to Lq(v,G)L^q(v, G), where Ldec,rp(w,G)L^p_{dec,r}(w, G) is the Lebesgue space defined for non-negative radially decreasing functions on GG. The same problem is also studied for the potential operator with product kernels Iα1,α2I_{\alpha_1, \alpha_2} defined on a product of two homogeneous groups G1×G2G_1\times G_2. In the latter case weights, in general, are not of product type. The derived results are new even for Euclidean spaces

Indo-USA 123 Deal and Nuclear Cooperation Agreement Feature and Reasons: Perspective of China and Pakistan

    Get PDF
India and United States have led to a strategic partnership due to mutual interests in global politics such as promoting democracy and fighting terrorism. After that, they extend their collaboration across the economy, technology and atomic energy. After 1998 nuclear tests United States imposed sanctions on both India and Pakistan and stopped any kind of aid and assistance to them. But after the incident of September, 11 USA changed her strategies toward both countries and started Global war on terrorism (GWOT). In the South Asian security environment, the United States of America (USA) and India have a strong bond of strategic partnership due to the power struggle between the regional powers. India and USA started nuclear deal on 2005 which was completed on 2006. Behind this deal, both states increase their influence in this region. After this USA took steps toward India and signed the deal with it because in this region USA has only one watch dog in the shape of India. China is emerging as global power that is threatening situation for United States of America. In response of Indo-USA nuclear deal, arms race between India and Pakistan added risk of accidental use of nuclear technology due to unsophisticated command and control system. Key Words: Minimum deterrence, China, GWOT, Nuclear deal, section 12

Wheat growth and phytoavailability of copper and zinc as affected by soil texture in saline-sodic conditions

Nutrient disorders in saline-sodic soils can adversely affect crop growth. In order to evaluate the growth response of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) to Cu and Zn and the phytoavailability of these essential elements, a pot experiment was conducted in three different textured saline-sodic soils [sandy loam (SL), sandy clay loam (SCL) and clay (C)] having an ECe 8.63, 8.80, 8.98 dS m–1 and SAR 21.66, 23.48, 24.84 (mmol L–1)1/2 respectively. Seven treatments including levels of Cu (4, 6 and 8 mg kg–1) and levels of Zn (4, 6 and 8 mg kg–1) were separately applied together with a single control treatment. Dry matter yield (straw + grain) of wheat increased up to 35.2% with Cu and up to 31.2 % with Zn application relative to the control. As soil clay content increased, dry matter yield decreased up to 39.2% in SCL and up to 62.7% in C soil when compared to SL soil. Application of Cu increased the concentration in both wheat straw and grains up to 2.46 and 2.20 mg kg–1 DW respectively relative to the control. Zinc concentration in wheat straw and grains was also increased up to 29.97 and 29.40 mg kg–1 DW respectively relative to the controls. Copper application significantly increased Zn concentrations in wheat plants

Analyzing The Contribution of Western Acculturation to The Socio-Economic Disenfranchisement of Pakistani Expatriates in the United Arab Emirates

    Get PDF
The impact of acculturation on the West has primarily been explored through the favorable and adverse effects of immigration. However, the conversation surrounding the impact of western acculturation on the rest of the world is relatively undeveloped. Here, on the basis that acculturation is the adoption of cultural practices and can exist without the physical presence of a dominant culture, the impact of western acculturation will be associated with the socioeconomic disenfranchisement of an overseas population: Pakistani expatriates in the United Arab Emirates. More specifically, free education and western media are identified as mechanisms of western acculturation. Both media induced and free education induced acculturation constitute a level of agreeability that acclimates workers to the social structure of the capitalistic business model employed in the UAE. Media induced acculturation directly predisposes Pakistani expatriates in the UAE to the socioeconomic disenfranchisement that accompanies the power dynamic in the social structure of the capitalistic business model. Education models in the UAE institutionalize western acculturation, possibly leading to socioeconomic disenfranchisement and deep-rooted cultural change. Deep-rooted cultural change becomes imperative when considering the promotion of globalization in that although globalization may provide a broader cultural perspective, it can also eliminate cultures via acculturation-induced cultural dominance

Deep Learning Application On American Sign Language Database For Video-Based Gesture Recognition

    Get PDF
ASL speaking individuals always bring a companion as a translator [1]. This creates barriers for those who wish to take part in activities alone. Online translators exist however, they are limited to the individual characters instead of the gestures which group characters in a meaningful way, and connectivity is not always accessible. Thus, this research tackles the limitations of existing technologies and presents a model, implemented in MATLAB 2020b, to be used for predicting and classifying American sign language gestures/characters. The proposed method looks further into current neural networks and how they can be utilized against our transformed World Largest { American Sign Language data set. Resourcing state of the art detection and segmentation algorithms, this paper analyzes the efficiency of pre-trained net-works against these various algorithms. Testing current machine learning strategies like Transfer Learning and their impact on training a model for recognition. Our research goals are 1. Manufacturing and augmenting our data set. 2. Apply transfer learning on our data sets to create various models. 3. Compare the various accuracies of each model. And finally, present a novel pattern for gesture recognition

Synthesis of Novel Cyclobutane Nucleoside Analogues

    Get PDF
A synthesis of cyclobutane nucleosides is described. The method involved the triflation of a -hydroxymethyl-cyclobutanone and its subsequent displacement by a 6-chloropurinyl anion to generate N-7 and N-9 regioisomers. The stereoselective reduction of the N-alkylated ketones yielded the cis-alcohols quantitatively and the geometric configuration was confirmed by spectroscopic data and X-ray diffraction. Photolysis of N-7 and N-9 coupled ketones was carried out in methanol using quartz tubes to promote ring-expansion isonucleoside products. Photolysis did not yield any ring-expansion or cycloelimination products, rather, the products are suspected to be cyclopropanes from decarbonylation of the ketones, since these are less polar and show shielding of protons in their corresponding NMR spectra, consistent with substituted cyclopropanes
