¿Cómo interactúan los adolescentes con los videojuegos? Preferencias y habilidades performativas
How do teenagers interact with video games? Preferences and performative skills
Introduction. This article analyses the influence of video games on the socialisation processes of Spanish teenagers, especially regarding the development of safety habits, time investment and preferences of use. Methods. The study is based on a quantitative and descriptive approach and the use of a purpose-created 13-item survey questionnaire that examines video games and media use and was applied to a sample of 237 students aged 12 to 17. Results. Spanish teenagers are indifferent towards the adoption of safety habits when it comes to playing video games. Discussion and conclusions. Motivation to play video games is higher in teenage boys than girls, which makes us wonder about the causes of these gender-related preferences in videogame use and the development of safety habits
TICs have become a substantial element for the new society of knowledge and information. This deep change affects all of the social dimensions and therefore education and learning. The goal of our experience is to explain some application that provide the leargning change. New methological strategies accelerate their effectiveness with the use of TICs within presential learning approach, without needing a virtual model. There are some easy programs and means for the teacher to generate a dynamic into the classroom with technologies that they define the new society.
Influence analysis on discriminant coordinates
Discriminant analysis (DA), particularly Discriminant Coordinates (DC), is broadly applied in the scientific literature and included in many statistical software packages. DC is used to analyze biomedical data, especially for differential diagnosis on the basis of laboratory profiles. Papers handling influence analysis in DA can be found in the literature; however this topic has been scarcely touched upon in DC. In this paper the case-deletion approach is followed to introduce a perturbation in the data and influence measures are proposed to assess the effect on three statistics of interest: the
transformation matrix, canonical directions and configuration of the sample centroids.Ministerio de Ciencia y Tecnologí
Language as construction of thinking and practices in educational exclusion
más integrales y una mayor implicación por los centros en su conjuntoThis communication centers on the measures to deal with diversity and revert the
disengagement and risk of early school leaving in the Educación Secundaria Obligatoria
(Compulsory Secondary-School Education) in the Community of Murcia (CARM), carrying
out an interpretative and critical analysis of the text with the Governmental regulations
about the topic. Some theoretical references about the labeling, categorization, grading and
classification of the students are considered as well as the implied consequences, and the
process followed in the analysis of the content of the speech, the generation and application
of the applied categories is clarified. The results achieved show an extreme differentiation
of the processes of categorization, the enormous fragmentation of the mandated measures
and the established criteria to reroute the students to them, the aspects regulated by norms
and lapses or omissions. The conclusions warn about the risks of segregation that such
decisions represent and stand for more integral actions and greater implications for schools as a whol
Augmented reality in the classroom of primary education

Network Analysis for Learners’ Concept Maps While Using Mobile Augmented Reality Gaming
Using mobile augmented reality games in education combines situated and active learning with pleasure. The aim of this research is to analyze the responses expressed by young, middle-aged, and elderly adults about the location-based mobile augmented reality (MAR) games using methods of content analysis, concept maps, and social network analysis (SNA). The responses to questions related to MAR game Ingress were collected from 36 adult players, aged 20–60, from Greece, and subsequently analyzed by means of content analysis, concept maps, and social network analysis. Our findings show that for question 1 (How do you feel when you endow the geographical space with personal preferences?), there was a differentiation of the answers between age groups with age groups agreeing in pairs, the first two and the last two, while for question 2 (Do you think that the game offers opportunities for learning and teaching geography, building on your previous geographical knowledge?), there was an overlap in responses of participants among age groups. It was also revealed that the MAR games foster a constructivism approach of learning, as their use learning becomes an active, socially supported process of knowledge construction
Effectiveness of PMI Combined with Common Interest Activity for Elementary School Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder
Peer-mediated intervention (PMI) includes a range of strategies that are considered a successful aid in social-communication behavior for kids and their peers with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). This study was carried out to improve the social behavior of children with ASD, using peer training through an activity that they have in common. Three ASD students in Greek elementary schools, aged seven to ten years old, two boys and one girl, participated in this study. The peers of ASD students were trained to interact with them during recess in a comprehensive school setting. An ABA reversal design was used on each participant in order to define the effects of the intervention. Through observation probes, the responses and the initiations of all ASD students were noted by trained school staff. The results of the intervention phase showed an increase in both of these two variables. Furthermore, the follow-up phase depicted important results for the academic community, also showing an increase in all ASD students’ responses and initiations. The current study supplements the existing PMI research, which leads to the possible use of this valid tool that could be used in school settings in order to increase the socialization of ASD students
