A Small Scale Macroeconomic Model for Morocco

    Get PDF
Abstract. In this research paper, we build a New Keynesian reduced-form macroeconomic model for Morocco. The model encompasses three main blocks: an aggregate demand equation (IS curve), a price-setting equation (Phillips curve) and a Taylor-type monetary policy rule. In our model, we consider a significant forward-looking component when explaining inflation dynamics, which enables us to include agent’s expectations. The downstream aim of this work is to provide the research community with new possibilities in terms of economic workhorse modelling, particularly for monetary policy analysis purposes.Keywords.         3D-QSAR and Molecular Docking methods were performed on a set of 42 benzimidazolone derivatives considered as inhibitors of the MAPK (Mitogen Activated Protein Kinases) that play critical roles in cell signaling and gene expression. IC50 of 42 compounds is quantitatively modeled by using Multiple Linear Regression (MLR), and Neuronal Networks (NN). The proposed QSAR model has provided statistically significant results (RMLR = 0.90; RNN =0.92 and RCV =0.91), It is validated by leave-one-out method. The general interaction mode of molecules to the P38 Kinases binding sites was explored by using Molecular Docking techniques. In this paper we are focused on the most active molecules of our set, compound 34, and has been compared by the 4-[5-(4-fluoro-phenyl)-2-(4-methanesulfinyl-phenyl)-3H-imidazol-4-yl]-pyridine that is highly interactive with the site P38 alpha Mitogen Activated Protein kinases

Abstract3D-QSAR and molecular docking methods were performed on a set of 74 benzimidazole derivatives previously studied as activators of the AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK), a protein that plays a key role in the regulation of cellular energy balance. Relative enzyme activity (REA) of 74 compounds was quantitatively modelled using multiple linear regression (MLR) and neuronal networks (NN). The proposed QSAR model provided statistically significant results (rMLR=0.89; rNN=0.95 and rCV=0.90) and was validated using the leave-one-out method. The general binding mode of benzimidazole derivatives to the AMPK binding site was explored using molecular docking, with a focus on the most active molecules of our set, compounds 19 and 25

Nonleukemic Granulocytic Sarcoma of Knee: A Case Report

    Get PDF
Granulocytic sarcoma (GS) is a rare extramedullary tumor composed of immature myeloid cells. It is usually associated with leukemia or other myeloproliferative disorders. It occurs very rarely without overt hematologic diseases. A 19-year-old man presented with left knee mass. Biopsy with pathological analysis showed lymphoma aspect. Immunostains yielded the diagnosis of GS with myeloperoxidase and CD43 positivity. There was no systemic manifestation of leukemia, and bone marrow biopsiy was negative for neoplastic infiltration. Chemotherapy by CHOP was efficient, and the patient remaind alive and healthy 40 months after the end of treatment. The case is discussed in the framework of the existing literature about the diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of this very rare condition

Genetic Algorithm for Vertical Handover (GAfVH)in a Heterogeneous networks

The fifth generation (5G) wireless system will deal with the growing demand of new multimedia and broadband application. The 5G network architecture is based on heterogeneous Radio Access Technologies (RATs). In such implementation the Vertical handover is a key issue. Up till now, systems are using simple mechanisms to make handover decision, based on the evaluation of the Received Signal Strength (RSS). In some cases these mechanisms are not Efficient. This paper presents a new vertical handover algorithm based on Genetic Algorithm (GAfVH). It aims to reduce the number of unnecessary handovers, and optimizes the system performance. We compare our simulation results to the Received Signal Strength (RSS) based method. The results show that the number of handovers decreases. Moreover, we demonstrate that the network selection result can differ from an application to another

Phonon-Plasmon Interaction in Metal-Insulator-Metal Localized Surface Plasmon Systems

We investigate theoretically and numerically the coupling between elastic and localized surface plasmon modes in a system of gold nanocylinders separated from a thin gold film by a dielectric spacer of few nanometers thickness. That system supports plasmon modes confined in between the bottom of the nanocylinder and the top of the gold film, which arise from the formation of interference patterns by short-wavelength metal-insulator-metal propagating plasmon. First we present the plasmonic properties of the system though computer-simulated extinction spectra and field maps associated to the different optical modes. Next a simple analytical model is introduced, which allows to correctly reproduce the shape and wavelengths of the plasmon modes. This model is used to investigate the efficiency of the coupling between an elastic deformation and the plasmonic modes. In the last part of the paper, we present the full numerical simulations of the phononic properties of the system, and then compute the acousto-plasmonic coupling between the different plasmon modes and five acoustic modes of very different shape. The efficiency of the coupling is assessed first by evaluating the modulation of the resonance wavelength, which allows comparison with the analytical model, and finally in term of time-modulation of the transmission spectra on the full visible range, computed for realistic values of the deformation of the nanoparticle.Comment: 12 pages, 9 figure

The impact of the image processing in the indexation system

This paper presents an efficient word spotting system applied to handwritten Arabic documents, where images are represented with bag-of-visual-SIFT descriptors and a sliding window approach is used to locate the regions that are most similar to the query by following the query-by-example paragon. First, a pre-processing step is used to produce a better representation of the most informative features. Secondly, a region-based framework is deployed to represent each local region by a bag-of-visual-SIFT descriptors. Afterward, some experiments are in order to demonstrate the codebook size influence on the efficiency of the system, by analyzing the curse of dimensionality curve. In the end, to measure the similarity score, a floating distance based on the descriptor’s number for each query is adopted. The experimental results prove the efficiency of the proposed processing steps in the word spotting system

Pilot Decontamination over Time Frequency and Space Domains in Multi-Cell Massive MIMO System

In this article, we show that Pilot contamination problem can be seen as a source separation problem using time, frequency, and space domains. Our method capitalizes on a nonunitary joint diagonalization of spatial quadratic time-frequency (STFD) signal representation to identify the desired and interfering users. We first compute the noise subspace from the STFD matrices selected appropriately. Secondly, we use the noise subspace obtained to estimate the Elevation (El) and the Azimuth (Az) angles for which the MUSIC cost function is maximized. Numerical simulations are provided to illustrate the effectiveness and the behavior of the proposed approach
