Within T-cell lymphomas (TCL) there are 2 entities expressing gamma-delta TCR: hepatosplenic gamma-delta T-cell lymphoma (HSGDTL) and the primary cutaneous gamma-delta T-cell lymphoma (PCGDTL). PCGDTL is a rare form of Tcell lymphoma with specific tropism for skin that have a dismal prognosis. Although even rarer, there have been reports of TCL with loss of expression of the TCR, which have been termed peripheral TCL TCR-silent type. We report the case of a cutaneous TCR-silent type lymphoma associated to a clonal plasma cell proliferation with an ominous outcome that led to a lot of discussion in its classification. Due to the aggressiveness of the disease and the scant evidence about therapy in this strange entity the outcome was fatal. We report a unique case of a TCR-silent cutaneous TCL with an exceptional histopathology, prolonged clinical evolution and a subsequent plasma cell clonal expansion

Only proven pathogenic mutations associated with myeloid neoplasms are key to establish the clonal nature of the bone marrow fibrosis. In cases with genetic variants of uncertain meaning, the clinical picture may be required to rule out secondary causes. Data on density, ρ, speed of sound, c, and refractive index, nD, have been reported at (293–303.15) K for the N,N-dimethylacetamide (DMA) + CH3CO(CH2)u − 1CH3 (u = 1, 2, 3) systems, and at 298.15 K for the mixture with u = 5. These data have been used to compute excess molar volumes, VmE, excess adiabatic compressibilities, κSE, and excess speeds of sound cE. Negative VmE values indicate the existence of structural effects and interactions between unlike molecules. From molar excess enthalpies, HmE, available in the literature for N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF), or N-methylpyrrolidone (NMP) + n-alkanone systems, it is shown: (i) amide-ketone interactions are stronger in DMF systems than in those with NMP; (ii) they become weaker when u increases in mixtures with a given amide. Structural effects largely contribute toHmE and are more relevant in mixtures containing NMP. The application of the Flory's model reveals that the random mixing hypothesis is valid in large extent for DMF solutions, while NMP systems are characterized by rather strong orientational effects. From values of molar refraction and of the product PintVm (where Pint is the internal pressure and Vm the molar volume), it is concluded that dispersive interactions increase with u, or when DMF is replaced by DMA in mixtures with a fixed ketone.Junta de Castilla y León, under Project BU034U1

Relative permittivities at 1 MHz, , and refractive indices at the sodium D-line, , are reported at 0.1 MPa and at (293.15–303.15) K for the binary systems 1-alkanol + n-hexylamine (HxA). Also, their corresponding excess functions are calculated and correlated. Positive values of the excess permittivities, , are encountered for the methanol system, whereas the remaining mixtures show negative values. This reveals that interactions between unlike molecules contribute positively to . This contribution is dominant for the methanol mixture, while those arising from the breaking of interactions between like molecules are prevalent for the remaining mixtures. At (volume fraction) = 0.5, changes in the order: methanol > 1-propanol > 1-butanol > 1-pentanol < 1-heptanol. Similar variation with the chain length of the 1-alkanol is observed for mixtures such as 1-alkanol + heptane, or + cyclohexylamine, and can be explained in terms of the lower and weaker self-association of longer 1-alkanols. The effect of the replacement of HxA by cyclohexylamine, or by aniline, is also shown. Calculations on molar refractions indicate that dispersive interactions in the systems under study increase with the length of the 1-alkanol. The mixtures are studied by means of the application of the Kirkwood-Fröhlich model, and the Kirkwood correlation factors, including the corresponding excess values, are reported.Ministerio de Educación, Cultura y Deporte for the grants FPU14/04104 and FPU15/05456 respectively. Producción CientíficaDensities (P), speeds of sound (c), relative permittivities at 1 MHz (er) and refractive indices at the sodium D-line (nD) at T = (293.15 K to 303.15 K) and p = 0.1 MPa are reported for binary liquid mixtures alkan-1- ol + benzylamine. Methanol, propan-1-ol and pentan-1-ol are the alkan-1-ols studied in this work. The values of the excess molar volume (VE m), excess isentropic compressibility (jE S ), excess speed of sound (cE), excess refractive index (nE D), excess relative permittivity (eE r ) and its temperature derivative ð@eE r =@TÞp are calculated, and they are adjusted to Redlich-Kister polynomials. The VE m values are negative, indicating a predominance of the solvation between unlike molecules and structural effects. eE r values indicate a positive contribution from the creation of (alkan-1-ol)-benzylamine interactions, and the pos- itive value for the methanol mixture emphasises the importance of solvation. Calculations on excess molar refractions point out to weaker dispersive interactions than in the ideal mixture, which may be explained by the mentioned solvation effects. The Kirkwood-Fröhlich model has been applied to the mix- tures, and the Kirkwood correlation factors suggest an important relative weight, especially in the metha- nol system, of linear-like molecules in the solutions, which is in accordance with the positive contribution of the formed multimers to eE r due to their good effective response to the electric field.

CXCR7 expression in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma identifies a subgroup of CXCR4+ patients with good prognosis

© 2018 Moreno et al.The CXCR4/CXCL12 axis has been extensively associated with different types of cancer correlating with higher aggressiveness and metastasis. In diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), the expression of the chemokine receptor CXCR4 is involved in the dissemination of malignant B cells and is a marker of poor prognosis. CXCR7 is a chemokine receptor that binds to the same ligand as CXCR4 and regulates de CXCR4-CXCL12 axis. These findings together with the report of CXCR7 prognostic value in several tumor types, led us to evaluate the expression of CXCR7 in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma biopsies. Here, we describe that CXCR7 receptor is an independent prognostic factor that associates with good clinical outcome. Moreover, the expression of CXCR7 associates with increased survival in CXCR4+ but not in CXCR4- DLBCL patients. Thus, the combined immunohistochemical evaluation of both CXCR7 and CXCR4 expression in DLBCL biopsies may improve their prognostic value as single markers. Finally, we show that CXCR7 overexpression in vitro is able to diminish DLBCL cell survival and increase their sensitivity to antitumor drugs. Hence, further studies on the CXCR7 receptor may establish its role in DLBCL and the molecular mechanisms that modulate CXCR4 activity. This work was supported by Instituto de Salud Carlos III (co-founding from FEDER) [ FIS PI11/00872, RD12/0036/0071, FIS PI14/00450 to J.S., FIS PI15/00378 to R.M., PIE15/00028 to R.M. and J.S., RD12/0036/0069, PS09/01382 to M.G.D, PI15/01393 to M.A, CD13/00074 to V.P.]; Centro de Investigación Biomédica en Red (CIBER) [CB06/01/1031 and Nanomets3 to R.M. and CB16/12/00233 to M.G.D.]; Agència de Gestió d'Ajuts Universitaris i de Recerca (AGAUR) [2014-SGR-1041, 2014PROD0005 to R.M and 2014-SGR-1281 to J.S]; Fundació La Marató TV3 [416/C/2013-2030 to R.M, 100830/31/32 to J.S and M.G.D.]; Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute [P/AG 2014 to R.M.]; the Health Council of Castilla y León (BIO/SA56/13 and BIO/SA78/15 to M.A.); Agència de Gestió d’Ajuts Universitaris i de Recerca (AGAUR) [2017FI_B00680 to A.F.]

Data on density, ρ, speed of sound, c, and refractive index, n_D, of binary systems containing N,N-dimethylacetamide (DMA) + N-propylpropan-1-amine (DPA) or + butan-1-amine (BA) at 293.15 K, 298.15 K and 303.15 K, and + N-butylbutan-1-amine (DBA) or + hexan-1-amine (HxA) at 298.15 K are reported. A densimeter and sound analyzer Anton Paar DSA 5000 has been used for the measurement of ρ and c, whereas n_D values have been obtained by means of a refractometer RFM970 from Bellingham+Stanley. Also, values of excess molar volumes, V_m^E, excess isentropic compressibilities, κ_S^E, excess speeds of sound, c^E, excess isobaric thermal expansion coefficients, α_p^E, and of excess refractive indices, n_D^E, have been determined from these data. The investigated systems are characterized by amide-amine interactions and structural effects, as it is shown by their negative or low positive V_m^E values and by the results from the application of the Prigogine-Flory-Patterson (PFP) model. The breaking of amine-amine interactions is more relevant in systems containing linear primary amines than in those with linear secondary amines, and the V_m^E values are lower for the latter systems. Molar refraction has been used to evaluate the dispersive interactions in the mixtures under study, yielding the result that DPA and HxA systems present similar dispersive interactions and mainly differ in their dipolar character. Steric hindrance of the amide group in DMA leads to weaker amide-amine interactions than in the corresponding N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF) + amine systems.Ministerio de Educación, Cultura y Deporte (MECD): Grant FPU14/0410
