“Así el bebé esté sin cabeza, ese bebé no se puede abortar”

This study examines the obstacles to access therapeutic abortion (TA) based on the description and analysis of the crucial moments in the critical path followed by five Peruvian women trying to gain access to the procedure. The cases hereafter mentioned show the strong opposition by part of the health system in providing access to TA. Even when prevailing law exist since 1924, ratified in 1991, and an approved protocol since 2014. The path taken by the women who participated in this study proves control over women’s bodies through the mandate of motherhood, when the product of conception is not expected to survive, to be fundamental to the process of structural violence in the system.Este artículo trata sobre las dificultades de acceso al aborto terapéutico (AT) a partir de la descripción y análisis de momentos clave de la ruta crítica seguida por cinco mujeres peruanas en su intento de acceso al mismo. Los casos aquí tratados muestran alta resistencia por parte del sistema de salud de proveer acceso al AT, aun cuando es vigente por ley desde 1924, ratificado en 1991 y cuenta con protocolo desde el 2014. La ruta proseguida por las mujeres participantes de este estudio se muestra como un proceso de ejercicio de violencia estructural, donde la lógica de control del cuerpo de las mujeres a través del mandato de maternidad como principal motivación del sistema se devela como fundamental, dada la inviabilidad de la vida de los productos del embarazo

Diseño estratégico para la comercialización y el consumo de pescado artesanal colombiano en niños bogotanos - PESCO

En el presente documento de investigación se encuentra plasmado el desarrollo y la investigación pertinente del proyecto PESCO, un proyecto que da como resultado el diseño de una estrategia para la comercialización del pescado artesanal colombiano proveniente de Bahía Solano (Nuquí, Chocó) y el consumo de este mismo en niños bogotanos entre los A y 7 años, logrando facilitar el acceso a productos de pesca responsable y mejorando la seguridad alimentaria en sus hogares. El documento inicia con la fase de justificación e introducción al problema, en el que por medio de cifras se muestra el motivo de la realización del proyecto, continúa con la fase de conceptualización, en la que se desarrollan los conceptos del proyecto y de diseño, además de los objetivos que el proyecto se propuso cumplir y los alcances que logró. La fase de diseño se abre al indicar los parámetros que se tuvieron en cuenta para el desarrollo de las alternativas entre las cuales se encuentra el modelo final, modelo bajo el cual se elaboró el plan de negocios. Finalmente se hicieron las comprobaciones con los grupos objetivos y así se llega a las conclusiones finales de todo el proyecto.This research document contains the development and pertinent research of the PESCO project, a project that results in the design of a strategy for the commercialization of Colombian artisanal fish from Bahia Solano (Nuqui, Choco) and the consumption of The same in children from Bogotá between the ages of 4 and 7, facilitating access to responsible fishing products and improving food security in their homes. From Music to the Operating Room: An Analysis of Orthopedic Interventions in Rockstars

Antecedentes: La música rock, aunque apasionante y enérgica, impone demandas físicas significativas a los músicos. Históricamente, se ha especulado sobre la relación entre lesiones musculoesqueléticas y la carrera de un rockstar, especialmente aquellas que requieren intervención quirúrgica. Objetivo: Explorar la asociación entre las demandas físicas de ser un rockstar y la prevalencia de lesiones musculoesqueléticas, con un enfoque particular en aquellas que requieren cirugía. Metodología: Se realizó una revisión exhaustiva de la literatura y casos notables de rockstars que han sido sometidos a procedimientos quirúrgicos ortopédicos. Se examinaron las causas, el impacto y las estrategias de prevención y manejo. Resultados: Las lesiones musculoesqueléticas en rockstars son prevalentes y pueden ser el resultado de múltiples factores, incluida la técnica inadecuada, la postura, el estilo de vida y las demandas físicas de las actuaciones. Estas lesiones tienen un impacto significativo no solo en la salud física del músico, sino también en su bienestar emocional y psicológico. Conclusiones: Es esencial adoptar un enfoque proactivo y multidisciplinario para prevenir y tratar lesiones en rockstars. La combinación de investigación, educación y apoyo puede garantizar la salud y longevidad de la carrera de estos artistas.Background: Although exciting and energetic, rock music places significant physical demands on musicians. Historically, there has been speculation about the relationship between musculoskeletal injuries and a rockstar's career, especially those that require surgical intervention. Objective: To explore the association between the physical demands of being a rockstar and the prevalence of musculoskeletal injuries, focusing on those requiring surgery. Methodology: A comprehensive literature review and notable cases of rockstars undergoing orthopedic surgical procedures were conducted. The causes, impact, prevention, and management strategies were examined. Results: Musculoskeletal injuries in rockstars are prevalent and can result from multiple factors, including improper technique, posture, lifestyle, and the physical demands of performances. These injuries have a significant impact not only on the musician's physical health but also on his emotional and psychological well-being. Conclusions: Adopting a proactive and multidisciplinary approach to prevent and treat injuries in rockstars is essential. The combination of research, education, and support can ensure the health and longevity of these artists' careers

MINERvA neutrino detector response measured with test beam data

The MINERvA collaboration operated a scaled-down replica of the solid scintillator tracking and sampling calorimeter regions of the MINERvA detector in a hadron test beam at the Fermilab Test Beam Facility. This article reports measurements with samples of protons, pions, and electrons from 0.35 to 2.0 GeV/c momentum. The calorimetric response to protons, pions, and electrons are obtained from these data. A measurement of the parameter in Birks' law and an estimate of the tracking efficiency are extracted from the proton sample. Overall the data are well described by a Geant4-based Monte Carlo simulation of the detector and particle interactions with agreements better than 4%, though some features of the data are not precisely modeled. These measurements are used to tune the MINERvA detector simulation and evaluate systematic uncertainties in support of the MINERvA neutrino cross section measurement program.Comment: as accepted by NIM
