The influence of creative industry definitions on subsector typologies
In this conceptual article we explore the influence of creative industry definitions on subsector typologies. Based on a systematic literature review of the Creative Industries Journal, we examine alternative creative industry definitions, criteria, subsector typologies, and streams of thought. As a corollary of such a literature review, we suggest a theoretical framework – the Value/Scale matrix – which distinguishes four types of creative industries. In particular, we distinguish between creative and cultural activities as well as between creative and cultural industries. Our distinction is based on the degree of value added and the scale of operations. We conclude with a discussion of the theoretical and practical implications of such a framework.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

Integration of a mobile autonomous robot in a surveillance multi-agent system
This dissertation aims to guarantee the integration of a mobile autonomous robot equipped with many sensors in a multi-agent distributed and georeferenced surveillance system.
The integration of a mobile autonomous robot in this system leads to new features that will be available to clients of surveillance system may use. These features may be of two types: using the robot as an agent that will act in the environment or by using the robot as a mobile set of sensors. As an agent in the system, the robot can move to certain locations when alerts are received, in order to acknowledge the underlying events or take to action in order to assist in resolving this event. As a sensor platform in the system, it is possible to access information that is read from the sensors of the robot and access complementary measurements to the ones taken by other sensors in the multi-agent system.
To integrate this mobile robot in an effective way it is necessary to extend the current multi-agent system architecture to make the connection between the two systems and to integrate the functionalities provided by the robot into the multi-agent system

The regenerative power of video and film: The Fork-to-Farmer approach
Participatory video is a creative and effective strategy for generating data in social science research, and it can be a powerful tool to engage in democratic and empowering ways with traditionally underserved communities. The workshop will introduce and discuss the Fork-to-Farmer project, which used a unique combination of video production and social science research to engage with community partners to celebrate and further stimulate the symbiotic relationships between chefs and farmers in North Carolina. It will also include a thematic visual analysis of three videos produced across the last five years, to engage workshop participants in exploring the self-narratives farmers have injected into their films. We expect to make evident during the workshop that farmers’ narratives have evolved from playing tokenistic second fiddle to chefs in pre-pandemic farm-to-table systems to playing the role of lifelines and inspirational human beings to struggling chefs, restauranteurs, and communities
The space-time torsion in the context of the Exact Foldy-Wouthuysen Transformation for a Dirac fermion
In this work we focus our attention in the inconsistency that appears when
the Semi-Exact Foldy-Wouthuysen transformation for the Dirac field interacting
with space-time torsion field is performed. In order to solve this problem, we
present a new involution operator that makes possible to perform the exact
transformation when torsion field is present. Such operator has a structure,
well known in the literature, composed of the product of an operator that acts
in the matrices space and another one that acts in the function space. We also
present the bound state of this theory and discuss the possible experimental
analysis
Associação de genes HLA e não HLA com a suscetibilidade para a sarcoidose na população portuguesa do norte
ANXA11 association with Sarcoidosis susceptibility: a meta-analysis of non-family-based studies
ORAL SESSIONS - Best AbstractsSarcoidosis is a multisystemic disorder of unknown etiology, characterized by the formation of noncaseating granulomas, predominantly
in the lungs and lymph nodes. The sarcoidosis association with the ANXA11 rs1049550 SNP has been previously reported in case–control studies. We carried out this meta-analysis in order
to collect all the relevant studies to further clarify the association
of ANXA11 SNP rs1049550 C/T (R230C variant) polymorphism with Sarcoidosis susceptibility. Relevant published data were retrieved through Medline, PubMed andWeb of Science pertaining
to Sarcoidosis and ANXA polymorphisms. Odds ratios
(OR) with 95 % confidence intervals (CI) were used to assess the strength of the association. Z test was used to determine the significance of the pooled OR. Statistical heterogeneity was measured
using the Q statistic. The effect of heterogeneity was quantified
using the I2-statistic. Visual inspection of asymmetry in funnel plots was conducted. Begg’s rank correlation method and
Egger weighted regression method were also used to statistically assess the publication bias. Statistical analyses were performed
with STATA12.0 software. A total of 6 studies, including 3297 sarcoidosis cases and 3346 healthy controls, were collected in this meta-analysis. For T vs. C, no heterogeneity (Q=4.79, p=0.44,
I2=0.0%) was observed among individual estimates, and original
data were combined using the fixed-effects model. For the total population, we found that ANXA11 T allele was less common in
the Sarcoidosis group than in the control group and we obtained
an effect summary OR=0.69, with a 95 % CI=0.64-0.74, and p<0.001, which shows a protective association of SNP rs1049550
T allele to sarcoidosis. Our comprehensive meta-analysis indicated
that there is sufficient evidence to demonstrate a conclusive association between the ANXA11 SNP rs1049550 and sarcoidosis susceptibility

Entrepreneurship in tourism education: a self-efficacy approach
This paper is a report of a study to measure changes in tourism e-microentrepreneurial self-efficacy (TeMSE) in undergraduate students after attending an introductory survey course on tourism management. Given that high entrepreneurial self-efficacy is associated with enterprise success, enhancing levels of TeMSE is warranted to grow a more just tourism economy in a sector largely controlled by profit-oriented large corporations. This need is stronger among women, who may doubt their entrepreneurial competences due to stereotyped gender-role socialization. Consequently, universities have become aware of the importance of developing entrepreneurial potential, and are focusing on equipping students with skills and abilities necessary to pursue their own microenterprises. Accordingly, we developed a battery of hands-on learning tools to enhance efficacy beliefs in tourism entrepreneurial skills. Analysis of pre-post data suggests improvements only in the Pursuing Innovation dimension of TeMSE. Moreover, unlike previous research, we found no evidence of baseline lower self-efficacy among females
Everyday coup: very familiar threats to the indigenous peoples' rights in the context of the impeachment
