The restorative approach in the educational sphere. When innovation in schooling humanizes schooling

L’objectiu de l’article és donar a conèixer l’enfocament restauratiu i posar de relleu com dóna resposta a les necessitats relacionals i de convivència de la comunitat escolar d’avui. Per això s’hi ofereix una concreció teòrica i pràctica, tant a nivell proactiu, per construir comunitat, com a nivell reactiu, per donar resposta a situacions de conflicte. S’identifiquen les necessitats pel que fa a la convivència i s’exposa com les aportacions de l’enfocament estan relacionades amb la superació del càstig per a la gestió del conflicte i la necessària alfabetització emocional i comunicacional que això comporta per a la gestió de les relacions, per tant, amb el salt de paradigma i la humanització. Finalment, definim breument les seves pràctiques i n’exposem exemples per a la seva implementació.El objetivo del artículo es dar a conocer el enfoque restaurativo y poner de relieve cómo da respuesta a las necesidades relacionales y de convivencia de la comunidad escolar de hoy. Por ello se ofrece una concreción teórica y práctica, tanto a nivel proactivo, para construir comunidad, como a nivel reactivo, para dar respuesta a situaciones de conflicto. Se identifican las necesidades en cuanto a la convivencia y se expone como las aportaciones del enfoque están relacionadas con la superación del castigo para la gestión del conflicto y la necesaria alfabetización emocional y comunicacional que esto conlleva para la gestión de las relaciones, por tanto, con el salto de paradigma y la humanización. Finalmente, definimos brevemente sus prácticas y exponemos ejemplos para su implementación.The objective of the article is to describe the restorative approach and highlight how it responds to the relational and coexistential needs of the school community today. To this end it puts forward a theoretical and practical concretion, both at the proactive level of building a community and at the reactive level of responding to situations of conflict. The conditions required for coexistence are identified, together with the benefits of the approach, in relation to moving on from punishment to arrive at effective management of conflict and the necessary emotional and communicational literacy that this entails for the management of relations, with the associated change of paradigm and humanization. Finally, we briefly outline the restorative approach in practice and present examples for its implementation

Scalable RDMA performance in PGAS languages

Partitioned global address space (PGAS) languages provide a unique programming model that can span shared-memory multiprocessor (SMP) architectures, distributed memory machines, or cluster ofSMPs. Users can program large scale machines with easy-to-use, shared memory paradigms. In order to exploit large scale machines efficiently, PGAS language implementations and their runtime system must be designed for scalability and performance. The IBM XLUPC compiler and runtime system provide a scalable design through the use of the shared variable directory (SVD). The SVD stores meta-information needed to access shared data. It is dereferenced, in the worst case, for every shared memory access, thus exposing a potential performance problem. In this paper we present a cache of remote addresses as an optimization that will reduce the SVD access overhead and allow the exploitation of native (remote) direct memory accesses. It results in a significant performance improvement while maintaining the run-time portability and scalability.Postprint (published version

A motion planning approach to 6-D manipulation with aerial towed-cable systems

Presentado al International Micro Air Vehicle Conference and Flight Competition celebrado en Toulouse (Francia) del 17 al 20 de septiembre de 2013.We propose a new approach for the reliable 6-dimensional quasi-static manipulation with aerial towed- cable systems. The novelty of this approach lies in the combination of results deriving from the static analysis of cable-driven manipulators with a cost-based motion-planning algorithm to solve manipulation queries. Such a combination of methods is able to produce feasible paths that do not approach dangerous/uncontrollable configurations of the system. As part of our approach, we also propose an original system that we name the FlyCrane. It consists of a platform attached to three flying robots using six fixed-length cables. El desarrollo de habilidades comunicativas como instrumento para la resolución de conflictos y la mejora del clima emocional del aula

En este trabajo analizo la importancia del desarrollo de habilidades comunicativas en el ámbito escolar para la resolución de conflictos y la mejora del clima emocional del aula. Para ello, empiezo con un análisis de la normativa actual sobre Educación Primaria; defino las características de la competencia comunicativa y la competencia lingüística; enumero los estilos de comunicación (pasivo, agresivo y asertivo) y defiendo la asertividad y la comu-nicación no violenta como modelo de comunicación.Grado en Educación Primari

De la prensa a las apps. Un recorrido por la comunicación de los riesgos naturales en la prensa escrita y el papel de las nuevas tecnologías

Es conocido el uso de la prensa como fuente de información y del impacto social que los fenómenos naturales provocan. También se considera útil la prensa como un indicador de la percepción social. Con el fin de analizar estos aspectos, se ha construido una base de datos en ACCESS, PRESSGAMA, con más de 16.500 noticias publicadas en la prensa escrita. PRESSGAMA contiene noticias relacionadas con desastres naturales y cambio climático para el periodo 1981-2010 a partir de una actualización sistemática para el diario La Vanguardia, uno de los más importantes en Cataluña. Para cada una de las noticias se ha creado una ficha completa con información como el titular, la fecha de publicación, la disposición y extensión, palabras clave e información sobre el episodio. A partir de esta información se ha analizado la evolución de las noticias y el tratamiento que se le ha dado a los riesgos naturales a lo largo de este periodo de tiempo. Además, se han identificado diferentes factores que influyen en la cobertura informativa y la percepción de estos eventos. La aparición de los medios digitales y las redes sociales ha supuesto grandes cambios en la comunicación del riesgo. Actualmente cuando se produce un desastre la cobertura informativa es muy elevada y prácticamente instantánea. La ciudadanía ha pasado a tener un papel más activo y protagonista, desde ser únicamente receptores a difundir e incluso generar nuevas noticias. En el campo de la comunicación de los riesgos naturales esta cuestión genera retos y oportunidades. Por esta razón también se ha analizado el papel de internet, las redes sociales y aplicaciones móviles en la comunicación del riesgo. Como ejemplo se presentará el caso de la aplicación FLOODUP, una aplicación para compartir información sobre inundaciones

Factores de riesgo nutricionales de la cardiopatía isquémica

ResumenEl propósito de este artículo es analizar trabajos originales y de revisión que han tenido como objeto demostrar la relación entre la dieta, su efecto sobre la incidencia de enfermedad coronaria y sus implicaciones sobre las medidas preventivas a nivel regional. Se analizaron específicamente las relaciones entre niveles de co-lesterol sérico y enfermedad coronaria, dieta y colesterol sérico, y dieta y enfermedad coronaria. Se concluyó que solamente se observan asociaciones fuertes en comparaciones entre comunidades. La falta de consistencia en comparaciones entre individuos de la misma comunidad puede ser debida a variaciones en la medición de variables, debido a las limitaciones de los instrumentos (encuestas, tablas de composición de alimentos, variación en el consumo individual, hábitos alimentarios, etc.), lo cual restringe la generalización de los resultados a nivel regional. La consideración de estas variaciones mediante estudios de cohorte a nivel regional permitirán tomar medidas preventivas más eficaces.SummaryThe purpose of this review is to analize original and review papers dealing with associations between diet and its influence on the incidence of Coronary Heart Diseases, so as its implications on the preventive measures at regional levels. It has been analized relationships between serum cholesterol levels and Coronary Heart Disease, diet and serum cholesterol and diet and Coronary Heart Disease. It is concluded that there have been shown strong relations in comparisons between communities. However, there are not consistent relations when subjects from the same community are compared. This could be due to variations in variable measurements, such as the limitations of the tools used (food survey, food composition tables, individual intake variations, etc.). All these would difficult to extrapolate the results from one region to another. To develop more effective preventive measures there is the need of cohort studies at regional level bearing in mine all that considerations above mentioned

It brings us back to the memories, our past, to the rememb rance of something almost forgotten. When we talk about the concept of r eminiscence , we refer to them as a gestu re or print that remind us to situations in our past through objects and sensations. Photography is one of those elements that guide us to remember. They allow us to catch a moment and preserve it from t he passing of time. This project has b een made with graphic - digital tec hniques (transfer, 3d printing and digital printing) and it is set inside the expanded field, understanding the medium as an expressive source that wide n s the meaning. Safety of Food Oral Immunotherapy: What We Know, and What We Need to Learn.

Oral immunotherapy (OIT) for food allergy entails a risk of adverse reactions, including anaphylaxis. This safety concern is the major barrier for OIT to become a therapeutic option in clinical practice. The high heterogeneity in safety reporting of OIT studies prevents setting the safety profile accurately. An international consensus is needed to facilitate the analysis of large pooled clinical data with homogeneous safety reporting, that together with integrated omics, and patients/families' opinions, may help stratify the patients' risk and needs, and help developing safe(r) individualized care pathways. This will give OIT the right place in the food allergy therapy

Using this approach, we can ensure that the produced paths are feasible and do not approach dangerous configurations that could provoque the malfunction of the system. The approach has been simulated on the FlyCrane, consisting of a platform attached to three flying robots using six fixed-length cables.
