Design of a telescopic tower for wind energy production with reduced environmental impact

    Get PDF
A prototype of a telescopic pole for wind energy production with low environmental impact and its lifting system for a 60 to 250 kW turbine and a height of 30 m have been designed and manufactured. A telescopic tower, which is raised and lowered by automation or by remote control, allows to differentiate the presence of the generator within the landscape over time. The technology currently available for lifting and lowering wind turbines is made up of telescopic poles of heights of less than 10 meters and with tilting posts of height below 30 m. Without a state of the art to refer to, the telescopic pole and its lifting system have been designed starting from scratch and solving with innovative ideas the various criticalities that have arisen. The design of the telescopic coupling, the design for maintaining the preload and for the rotational decoupling, the optimization the design of the pairs of sleeves by numerical simulations, the design of the pegs and the bushes of the jack-up lifting system have been presented. The prototype was installed in Caltanissetta, Italy, and successfully tested

In Ragazzi di vita «La valanga passò a tutta birra». Sui modi di dire (e altra fraseologia) nelle opere di Pier Paolo Pasolini

Nowadays, there are not comprehensive studies on the idioms used by Pier Paolo Pasolini in his vast literary and non-fiction production. There is only one essay, although rich in data and starting points, on a proverb cited in an article published in the weekly «Il mondo» in 1975 (Rondinelli 2017). This paper, therefore, essentially has three objectives: 1) to trace the idioms used by the Emilian writer, also referring to other interesting phraseology for the purposes of the research; 2) to provide information on the identified idioms, retracing the most significant elements of their history; 3) to identify the clues that explain their use in Pasolini

Le fonti medievali del Vocabolario dei dialetti salentini (VDS)

The lexical heritage of Salento, Apulian subregion, was studied by one of the most eminent lexicographers of the last century, Gerhard Rohlfs, who collected it in the Vocabolario dei Dialetti Salentini (VDS), published in three volumes between 1956 and 1961. Over the years, this work has been recognized as a masterpiece of dialect lexicography, and has attracted the attention of various scholars, who have carefully examined its various components, such as gestation, structure, etc. Yet, despite some investigation has focused on the sources, a specific study on the contribution of the medieval ones to the drafting of the VDS entries is lacking. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to systematically assess such contribution from both quantitative and qualitative terms, setting the sources used by the Vocabulary in the detailed textual panorama of Salento’s vulgar Middle Ages

Non è solo un modo di dire. Locuzioni idiomatiche e variazione linguistica

In a recent small book dedicated to idioms, Lucilla Pizzoli (2020) resumed the investigations conducted by Lurati (2002, pp. 162-164) and Serianni (2010, pp. 84-88) on the contexts of use of some idiomatic phrases, confirming their results: they recur more frequently in the press than in literature and even in everyday dialogues. These results are not taken for granted, especially because idioms have a considerable variety of use, crossing phenomena of variation concerning mainly, but not limited to, diamesic and diaphasic ones. An example of this is the trajectory of the common saying Galeotto fu il libro, which is born from Dante, inspired by the refined French chivalric tales, and converges in the language of use, sometimes enriching in a tasty way the phenomenon known as “Dante pop”. Starting from the articles written by the author for the column Per modo di dire. Un anno di frasi fatte, edited for the magazine “Lingua italiana” (Treccani.it) by Alessandro Aresti, Debora de Fazio, Antonio Montinaro, Rocco Luigi Nichil, Rosa Piro and Lucilla Pizzoli, the paper aims to identify and categorize the variety of use of idiomatic phrases, first of all investigated on the diamesic and diaphasic axis.

This paper illustrates the contribution that the lexical analysis can bring to the study of the textual traditions that are overabundant and multilingual. By examining a selected corpus of translations in the vernacular of Giordano Ruffo’s Liber marescalcie (1250 post-1256 ante), this study is meant to pursue a twofold aim: to identify the transmission of the technical lexicon probably derived from the Latin original in a section of the Latin and Romance tradition; as well to detail the innovations and deviations from the source which the translators and/or copyists introduced. In this way, this research eventually exemplifies that the Romance witnesses are characterized by different degree of lexical fidelity to the treatise.

The importance of choosing the right feeding aids to maintain breast-feeding after interruption

    Get PDF
Publications throughout the world attribute to the artificial teat and the pacifier (dummy) the reason why some mothers, who suspend breast-feeding for a while, are unable to resume it afterwards. The authors wanted to evaluate the specific characteristics of the various commercially made teats and pacifiers. This evaluation examined the physical characteristics of such commercially available teats. It has been possible to affirm that the specific features of the various teats tested are important in the resumption of breast-feeding after such an interruption. It's easier to resume breast-feeding after interruption if artificial teats are prescribed with an understanding of the muscular movements during swallowing

Gli esploratori delle parole. Gerhard Rohlfs e Oronzo Parlangèli nel Salento dialettale

    Get PDF
