Characterization of the Intra-Unit-Cell magnetic order in Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+d

As in YBa2Cu3O6+x and HgBa2CuO8+d, the pseudo-gap state in Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+d is characterized by the existence of an intra-unit-cell magnetic order revealed by polarized neutron scattering technique. We report here a supplementary set of polarized neutron scattering measurements for which the direction of the magnetic moment is determined and the magnetic intensity is calibrated in absolute units. The new data allow a close comparison between bilayer systems YBa2Cu3O6+x and Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+d and rise important questions concerning the range of the magnetic correlations and the role of disorder around optimal doping.Comment: 12 pages, 8 figures, submitted to physical review

Les marchés de Noël en Alsace. De l’extraordinaire à l’ordinaire du tourisme événementiel

Les marchés de Noël se sont imposés comme un événement festif incontournable de la période traditionnelle de l’Avent en Alsace depuis les années 1990, grâce à la mise en scène de « l’extraordinaire » de la « magie de Noël ». La mise en tourisme d’une tradition culturelle germanique permet à la région d’accueillir un nombre croissant de visiteurs sur une période creuse de l’année. Ce tourisme hivernal et événementiel met en jeu des temporalités et des échelles spécifiques des territoires « ordinaires » des centres villes, tandis qu’il favorise une visibilité internationale de la destination Alsace. Pourtant, la saturation des espaces, la dérive commerciale et les conséquences territoriales générées par les marchés de Noël ne sont pas sans poser des problèmes et des conflits.Since the 1990s, the Christmas markets have become unavoidable festive events during the season of Advent in Alsace, and have staged “the magic of Christmas” to develop. Thanks to the transformation of a medieval German cultural tradition into event tourism, the region is now attracting a growing number of visitors during a slack period of the year. This form of event tourism uses specific temporalities and scales in the “ordinary” territories of the city centers, and gives international visibility to Alsace as a travel destination. But, more and more difficulties are raised by the saturation of space, increasing commodification and territorial conflicts

Comparaison des mesures radiographiques et échographiques de la taille des reins chez le chat

L’appareil urinaire félin est fréquemment soumis à de nombreuses pathologies, y compris des pathologies rénales. En médecine vétérinaire, les techniques d'imagerie les plus couramment utilisées et les plus disponibles sont la radiographie et l' échographie . Beaucoup de pathologies peuvent être diagnostiqué sur la base de radiographies et d’échographies. En plus de la forme du rein, de sa position et de son contour, la taille du rein est un paramètre important dans l'évaluation des pathologies rénales. Les objectifs de cette étude étaient de déterminer si les deux techniques d'imagerie (échographie et de radiographie) sont aussi fiables l’une que l’autre en ce qui concerne les mesures de la taille du rein et d'étudier les effets du poids, de l'âge, du sexe et de la stérilisation de ces mesures. La longueur et la hauteur des reins droit et gauche ont été mesurées sur 120 chats ayant subis une radiographie abdominale et une échographie rénale. Pour chaque chat, 8 mesures ont été effectuées. Pour l'analyse statistique, l’échographie a été considérée comme le gold-standard, nous avons utilisé un test de Bland-Altman pour comparer la fiabilité des deux techniques d'imagerie pour les différentes mesures rénales. Enfin, un modèle de régression linéaire a été utilisé pour analyser l'effet du poids, de l'âge, du sexe et de la stérilisation du chat sur les mesures rénales en radiographie et en échographie. Pour la même mesure, nos résultats ont révélé que la radiographie tend à amplifier la taille du rein. En ce qui concerne les effets du poids, de l'âge, du sexe et de la stérilisation, les différentes mesures rénales ont été corrélés avec le poids corporel ( P < 10-6 ) et le sexe ( P < 10-5 ), mais pas avec l'âge et la stérilisation. Cette étude montre donc que la radiographie n'est pas une technique très fiable pour déterminer la taille réelle du rein. En outre, dans l'évaluation de la taille du rein du chat, le poids et le sexe de l'animal doivent également être pris en compte
