High-attitude low-speed static aerodynamic characteristics of an F-4D fighter airplane model with leading edge slats

An investigation was conducted to determine the effects of two-position leading edge slats on the low speed aerodynamic characteristics of a swept wing twin-jet supersonic fighter airplane model at high angle of attack and various Reynolds numbers. The investigation was performed at a Mach number of 0.20 over a range of angle of attack from 19 deg to 90 deg and angles of slideslip from -10 deg to 30 deg and Reynolds numbers from 1.97 to 13.12 million per meter

Real convergence in Europe: a cluster analysis

In this paper we analyse real convergence in GDP per worker in the EU member states. The aim is to test whether there is evidence of club convergence in the EU, i.e. divergence in GDP per worker. Evidence in favour of cluster or club convergence may be an indication of significant productivity divergences between countries, which may also explain the current turmoil in the euro zone. The results show evidence of different economic growth rates within Europe, which also converge to different steady states, implying divergence in the EU-14. Within the EU-14 member states we observe two convergence clubs, which are not related to the fact that some countries belong to the euro area. Furthermore, Eastern European countries are also divided in two clubs, with a more direct effect of belonging to the euro zone in the composition of the clubs

La globalització dels mercats, els nous estils de vida i el canvi d'hàbits alimentaris demanen productes de més llarga durada, al mateix temps que hi ha una exigència de processament mínim, que recordi els productes d'origen sense disminuir-ne la seguretat d'ús. Per atendre aquests desitjos del consumidor, la indústria alimentària ha adoptat la teoria de Lesinger d'introduir en el processament de l'aliment un seguit d'obstacles suaus que dificultin el creixement bacterià, i amb l'acoblament d'aquests tractaments lleugers, parcials i específics assolir un efecte eficaç, segur i quasi total. Les tecnologies emergents que es poden aplicar a la conservació dels aliments són nous obstacles a afegir en el procés, però que no sempre s'implanten amb èxit, per diferents raons que s'exposen en aquesta breu revisió, juntament amb les seves projeccions de futur.The global market, the new way of life and the new habits of food consumers have lead to the convenience of long-life and minimally-processed food products. Keeping taste and flavour as much close as possible to the original products, and ensuring safety at similar level as full-processed products, is the aim of the response of the food industry to consumer demands through the theory of Lesinger. Basically this consists of the introduction during the process of the food series of slight obstacles preventing bacterial growth. Furthermore by combining several slight, partial and specific treatments, an effective degree of safety can be reached. The emerging technologies useful for food preservation are enumerated and their use as new complements to the processes discussed.Nevertheless, the success in their application is diverse due to different reasons. Adversarial Background-Aware Loss for Weakly-supervised Temporal Activity Localization

Temporally localizing activities within untrimmed videos has been extensively studied in recent years. Despite recent advances, existing methods for weakly-supervised temporal activity localization struggle to recognize when an activity is not occurring. To address this issue, we propose a novel method named A2CL-PT. Two triplets of the feature space are considered in our approach: one triplet is used to learn discriminative features for each activity class, and the other one is used to distinguish the features where no activity occurs (i.e. background features) from activity-related features for each video. To further improve the performance, we build our network using two parallel branches which operate in an adversarial way: the first branch localizes the most salient activities of a video and the second one finds other supplementary activities from non-localized parts of the video. Extensive experiments performed on THUMOS14 and ActivityNet datasets demonstrate that our proposed method is effective. Specifically, the average mAP of IoU thresholds from 0.1 to 0.9 on the THUMOS14 dataset is significantly improved from 27.9% to 30.0%.Comment: ECCV 2020 camera ready (Supplementary material: on ECVA soon
