BeCAPTCHA-Type: Biometric Keystroke Data Generation for Improved Bot Detection

This work proposes a data driven learning model for the synthesis of keystroke biometric data. The proposed method is compared with two statistical approaches based on Universal and User-dependent models. These approaches are validated on the bot detection task, using the keystroke synthetic data to improve the training process of keystroke-based bot detection systems. Our experimental framework considers a dataset with 136 million keystroke events from 168 thousand subjects. We have analyzed the performance of the three synthesis approaches through qualitative and quantitative experiments. Different bot detectors are considered based on several supervised classifiers (Support Vector Machine, Random Forest, Gaussian Naive Bayes and a Long Short-Term Memory network) and a learning framework including human and synthetic samples. The experiments demonstrate the realism of the synthetic samples. The classification results suggest that in scenarios with large labeled data, these synthetic samples can be detected with high accuracy. However, in few-shot learning scenarios it represents an important challenge. Furthermore, these results show the great potential of the presented models.Comment: Paper accepted in IEEE Computer Society Workshop on Biometrics (CVPRw) 202

Anthelmintic effects of Salix babylonica L. and Leucaena leucocephala Lam. extracts in growing lambs

In Mexico, small ruminant production has important social and economic functions, especially for small rural farmers who rely on these animals as a source of food and income. Production efficiency of ruminants has been limited by nutritional and sanitary problems with helminth infections being one of the major health conditions affecting humans and livestock. Exposure to nematode parasites depends on the husbandry system under which livestock are raised. In situations where Mexican farmers are almost entirely dependent on grazing, exposure to nematode larvae is continuous throughout the year. Gastrointestinal nematode parasitism is a major cause of sheep and goat mortality in tropical Mexico (Canul-Ku et al. 2012) and other tropical countries (Carvalho et al. 2012). The impacts of gastrointestinal nematode parasitism in practical systems has stimulated research into alternative medications, such as medicinal plants or tree leaf extracts, which are used in ruminants, donkeys, camels, and humans (Wabo-Pone et al. 2009; Carvalho et al. 2012).Twenty Katahdin×Pelibuey crossbreed male lambs, 3 to 4 months of age and 24±0.3 kg of body weight, were used to study the anthelmintic effects of administering extracts of Salix babylonica L. (SB) and Leucaena leucocephala Lam. (LL). Lambs had not been treated with anthelmintics previously and were randomly allocated into four groups of five lambs each in a completely randomized design. Treatments were as follows: control (lambs fed on total mixed ration without extracts), SB (as control plus S. babylonica L. extract at 30 ml/day), LL (as control plus L. leucocephala Lam. extract at 30 ml/day), and SBLL (as control plus 30 ml/day of S. babylonica L. and L. leucocephala Lam. extracts in a 1:1 (v/v) mixture) for 63 days. Extracts were orally administered before the 8:00 a.m. feeding to each lamb. Rectal fecal samples were collected from each lamb at day 22 (P1), day 43 (P2), and day 63 (P3) of the experiment. Adult worm and egg counts were determined in each fecal sample immediately after collection. Plant secondary metabolites of total phenolics, saponins, and the aqueous fraction were 50 % lower in the SB versus LL extracts. Overall, the oral administration of extracts has improved the egg and worm count reductions in lamb feces by 54, 47, and 40 % for LL, SB, and SBLL, respectively, versus the control lambs. Reductions of worm egg counts in lamb feces were higher (P <0.05) in P2 and P3 versus P1. Extracts of SB and LL or possibly isolated bioactive compounds could be a promising alternative to conventional anthelmintics to treat gastrointestinal parasites of small ruminants. Such treatments could be used in control strategies against gastrointestinal nematodes in organic and conventional production systems

Influence of Salix babylonica extract addition on in vitro rumen gas production and degradability of ryegrass silage harvested in different cutting days

Four cutoffs of ryegrass after 15 days (CD15), 30 days (CD30), 45 days (CD45), and 60 days (CD60) with Salix babylonica (SB) extract at 0, 30, and 60 ml/kg ryegrass silage were ensiled for 40 days and then evaluated for the in vitro dry matter (DM) digestibility and gas production (GP). No interactions occurred between cutting day and SB extract for silage’s nutrient contents and in vitro GP. The DM and organic matter (OM) contents were decreased linearly with decreased crude protein (CP), neutral detergent fibres, acid detergent fibres, and acid detergent lignin contents with advancing of days. In contrary, addition of SB extract increased silages’ OM and decreased CP contents. Addition of SB extract for CD15 and CD60 silages, quadratically decreased the lag time. However, SB extract increased the rate of GP and GP during the first 12 h of incubation at the level of 30 ml/kg with CD30 silage and asymptotic GP with the level 60 ml/kg of CD60 silage. Increased DM degradability (DMD) of CD30 and CD60 silages versus decreased DMD with CD15 with increased relative GP (ml gas/g DMD). It could be concluded that CD15 had the highest DM and OM content; however, higher GP was noted with CD45 and CD60. SB extract had weak effects on nutrient content and GP, and the level of 30 ml/kg DM was more effective than the level of 60 ml/kg DM

The quality management system is the way in which a company or organization organizes its processes to try to achieve customer satisfaction. Implementing a Management System can generate various benefits for the company. Within which we can establish the measurement of the results, the fluidity of communication between the processes, and the continuous improvement mainly. If we decide to implement a Management System, we must bear in mind that an ISO certificate of the 9001: 2015 standard can be obtained. This will allow our customers, suppliers or third parties related to the company, to have a better image of our company or organization. That is why the central theme of the research of practical application, with descriptive and qualitative methodology, consisted in implementing a quality management system for the company METALPIN S.A.S. from the city of Cartagena de Indias, according to ISO 9001 version 2015, based on risk management or risk-based approach.
