    Get PDF
This article examines the adequacy of the current support systems in addressing the issue of teenage pregnancies in Malaysia. This study was conducted primarily through a doctrinal study of existing literature such as articles, journals and reports related to the current issues encountered by the pregnant teenagers. There is also anon-doctrinal method carried out whereby the researchers had conducted fieldwork interviews with the government department, non-government organisations (NGOs) and social activist on the efforts done in addressing the problem. Due to the lack of a specific policy on teenage pregnancies in Malaysia, there have been concerns on issues related to the rights of these teenagers to education during pregnancy; criminal issues on abortion, infanticide and child sexual grooming; child marriages and the lack of support from parents, family members and the society for care, motivation, healthcare and preparation for motherhood among these teenagers. The findings establish the current support system is inadequate to meet the contemporary needs of pregnant teenagers. It is suggested that a comprehensive legal framework for teenage pregnancies in Malaysia needs to be put in place. These can include legislating necessary laws and policies, which can be more effective through integrated services and proper monitoring and enforcement in order to meet the current needs of the targeted group

    Get PDF
Open Government Data (OGD) adoption has been extensively studied; however, few have examined the success factors of OGD adoption in the public sector context. The benefits of leveraging data in enhancing public service delivery have been a significant concern to the top management of the public sector in providing them insight for strategic planning together with timely decision making. The aim of this paper is to review recent literature from the year 2010 to 2018 on OGD adoption at the organizational level in the public sector context. We systematically searched all English papers that were indexed in seven electronic journal databases (Scopus, Emerald, Web of Science, Science Direct, ACM, Springer and IEEE) which include journals, proceedings, books and book chapters. Few papers were acquired from snowballing techniques and ResearchGate webpage. A total of 886 publications were identified in this process and 25 papers have finally been selected which are deemed as relevant papers for the analysis stage. As derived from 25 selected papers, this study has identified 16 factors that influence the OGD adoption which has been categorized into three main dimensions: Technological, Organizational and Environmental (T-O-E). Policy, technological competence, top management support and organization culture are among the most influential factors of OGD adoption. Therefore, this study is expected to assist other researchers to understand the current stage of OGD adoption in terms of influential factors, research domains and research methodology

Fluoropolymer as dielectric in organic field effect transistor (OFET)

    Get PDF
Fluoropolymer is a type of dielectric material that have been used in fabricating Organic Thin Film Transistor (OTFT). Dielectric layer is one of the layers that make OTFT. It is the layer that sort the electric field that can be used. Fluoropolymer have unique characteristics that can be utilized for fabrication of OTFT. Fluoropolymer is low dielectric contact material which is needed in ultra-large-scale integration (ULSI) to breakdown the parasitic capacitance that affect the value of current flow. Drop cast technique has been used as depositing method on interdigitated electrode (IDE) on glass substrate. The length of the channel is varied to study the IV characteristic. Current- voltage (I-V) measurements have been used to measure the resistance at the different channel length. The value of resistivity can give some impact to the OFET device

Triple flat-type inductive-based oil palm fruit maturity sensor

    Get PDF
This paper aims to study a triple flat-type air coil inductive sensor that can identify two maturity stages of oil palm fruits, ripe and unripe, based on the resonance frequency and fruitlet capacitance changes. There are two types of triple structure that have been tested, namely Triple I and II. Triple I is a triple series coil with a fixed number of turns (n = 200) with different length, and Triple II is a coil with fixed length (l = 5 mm) and a different number of turns. The peak comparison between Triple I and II is using the coefficient of variation cv, which is defined as the ratio of the standard deviation to the mean to express the precision and repeatability of data. As the fruit ripens, the resonance frequency peaks from an inductance–frequency curve and shifts closer to the peak curve of the air, and the fruitlet capacitance decreases. The coefficient of the variation of the inductive oil palm fruit sensor shows that Triple I is smaller and more consistent in comparison with Triple II, for both resonance frequency and fruitlet capacitance. The development of this sensor proves the capability of an inductive element such as a coil, to be used as a sensor so as to determine the ripeness of the oil palm fresh fruit bunch sample

Fault detection with optimum March test algorithm

This paper presents a research work aimed to detect previously-undetected faults, either Write Disturb Faults (WDFs) or Deceptive Read Destructive Faults (DRDFs) or both in March Algorithm such as MATS++(6N), March C-(10N), March SR(14N), and March CL(12N). The main focus of this research is to improve fault coverage on Single Cell Faults as well as Static Double Cell Faults detection, using specified test algorithm. Transition Coupling Faults (CFtrs), Write Destructive Coupling Faults (CFwds) and Deceptive Read Destructive Faults (CFdrds) are types of faults mainly used in this research. The experiment result published in [1] shows BIST (Built-In-Self-Test) implementation with the new algorithm. It provides the same test length but with bigger area overhead, we therefore proposed a new 14N March Test Algorithm with fault coverage of more than 95% using solid 0s and 1s Data Background (DB). This paper reveals the design methodology to generate DB covers all memories function by applying non-transition data, transition data, and single read and double read data. The automation hardware was designed to give the flexibility to the user to generate other new March Algorithm prior to the selected algorithm and analyzed the performance in terms of fault detection and power consumption

Testing static single cell faults using static and dynamic data background

    Get PDF
This work proposes a bit-adjacent Data Background (DB) management scheme to improve fault coverage of March algorithms while simultaneously maintaining the shortest test cycle. Both static and dynamic DB transitions are used in order to detect Deceptive Read Destructive Faults (DRDFs) and Write Disturb Faults (WDFs) that are not detected by previous algorithms. A conventional March Test Algorithm can be modified by using the DB management scheme to form a new March Test Algorithm (referred to as Mod March Test Algorithm), e.g., MATS++(6N) becoming Mod MATS++(6N). This paper shows that Mod March SR (14N) and Mod March CL (12N) can detect DRDFs and WDFs while the corresponding conventional algorithms cannot. It is also shown that Mod March CL(12N) and Mod March SR(14N) with DB management can detect all Static Single Cell Faults based on the Bit-Oriented-Memories (BOM) test method. Comparisons on test cycle time for Mod March SR, March SR, and March SS in the context of memory Built-In-Self-Test (BIST) are also presented. From the simulation result, it shows that by including Data Backgrounds (DBs) management in Bit-Oriented Memories (BOM), the cycle test time is the same after a given multiple of DBs in the test algorithm
