Newton Polyhedra and p-Adic Estimates of Zeros of Polynomials in np[x, y]

Newton polyhedron associated with a polynomial in n pix, is introduced. Existence of a relationship between a Newton polyhedron and zeros of its associated polynomial is proved. This relationship is used to arrive at the p-adic estimates of the zeros. An upper bound to the p-adic orders of these zeros is found using the Newton polyhedron method

The final project for the final year students of Interior Architecture is based on the knowledge gained from the past five semesters. Those lessons that have been learnt are compiled together to be put to the test by self by proposing a final project based on the real life. The chosen project then will go through the process of analysing and designing before it completely go throught the final process which is to confirm the final design. Besides that, the chosen project must have general and design issues as the project reinforcement. The articles from the newspapers, magazine, internet and also through the interview session are compiled together to make them as an evidence that supports the project. Other than that, the problems that have been identified from the observation that student has go through at the existing site must be resolved and must be proved at the final. So that, the process of planning and more research are needed to ensure that the problems will be solved. Therefore, planning and research are required to ensure that the project run smoothly and students couId have a greater understanding about the project they proposed

To obtain p-adic orders of zeros common to two polynomials in Q [x,y], the combination of P . Indicator diagrams assodated with both polynomials are examined. It is proved that the p-adic orders of zeros common to both polynomials give the coordinates of certain intersection points of segments of the Indicator diagrams assodated with both polynomials. We make a conjecture that if ( A, IJ. ) is a point of intersection of non-coinddent segments in the combination of Indicator diagrams associated with two polynomials in Q [ x,y l then there exists a zero (L Tl) common to both polynomials such that ord ~. = A , ord Tl::: IJ. . A special case of this conjecture is proved

Strategi pembelajaran kolaboratif dalam persekitaran autentik bagi pembentukan kemahiran proses sains asas prasekolah menerusi teknologi Apps

Sehingga hari ini, salah fahaman konsep menjadi salah satu faktor utama yang menyebabkan proses pembelajaran bermakna tidak dapat dicapai dengan sepenuhnya oleh para pelajar samada diperingkat sekolah mahupun Institusi Pengajian bagi sesetengah pembelajaran kursus seperti sains dan matematik. Hal ini turut berlaku pada peringkat prasekolah. Terdapat beberapa permasalahan yang dilihat menjadi kekangan dalam proses pembelajaran, antaranya adalah kekurangan pengetahuan dan pengalaman mengajar dalam sebahagian kalangan guru-guru prasekolah yang mendorong ke arah permasalahan terhadap penguasaan kemahiran proses sains asas pelajarpelajar prasekolah. Kecenderungan sebahagian guru untuk menggunakan kaedah imaginasi dan andaian dilihat kurang membantu dalam pembentukan fahaman dalam diri pelajar untuk memahami sesuatu konsep sains dan seterusnya sukar mengaitkannya dengan kehidupan sebenar. Disamping itu, suasana pembelajaran yang menggalakkan para pelajar senantiasa berkolaborasi dalam proses pembelajaran serta saling bekerjasama dan berkongsi maklumat harus dididik dari peringkat prasekolah lagi. Selain itu, permasalahan dari segi penyediaan kemudahan ICT seperti pengaksesan kepada internet dan aplikasi teknologi multimedia yang kurang mampu disediakan oleh pihak sekolah turut menyukarkan para guru untuk merancang aktiviti pembelajaran yang lebih menarik sejajar dengan perkembangan teknologi hari ini. Justeru sebuah kajian perlu dilaksanakan bagi tujuan untuk merangka sebuah aktiviti pembelajaran yang mampu menyokong kepada peningkatan kefahaman pelajar terhadap pembelajaran mereka melalui sebuah persekitaran pembelajaran yang berdasarkan kepada situasi sebenar dan bermakna sekaligus memupuk pelajar agar senantiasa berkolaborasi dalam proses pembelajaran mereka sehingga mampu menyokong kepada pembentukan kemahiran proses sains asas pelajar. Berlandaskan kepada keperluan ini, maka kajian mengintegrasikan strategi pembelajaran kolaboratif dalam persekitaran autentik, dengan pengimplementasian bersama teknologi berkomputer iaitu melalui Apps Autentik Kolaboratik Skrin Sentuh Sains (AKSES) yang memberi penekanan serta mempraktiskan kemahiran proses sains asas pelajar (memerhati, mengelaskan dan berkomunikasi), dalam menyokong kepada peningkatan tahap kefahaman dan pencapaian pelajar

An average density of τ-adic Naf (τ-NAF) representation: an alternative proof

In order to improve the efficiency of scalar multiplications on elliptic Koblitz curves, expansions of the scalar to a complex base associated with the Frobenius endomorphism are commonly used. One such expansion is the τ-adic Non Adjacent Form (τ-NAF), introduced by Solinas (1997). Some properties of this expansion, such as the average density, are well known. However in the literature there is no description on the same sequences occuring as length- NAF's and length-l τ-NAF's to proof that the average density is approximately 1/3. In this paper we provide an alternative proof of this fact

On the Estimate to Solutions of Congruence Equations Associated with a Cubic Form

The set of solutions to congruence equations modulo a prime power associated with the polynomial f(x,y) = ax3 + bx2 y + cxy2 + dt + kx + my + n in Z [x,y] is examined and its cardinality estimated by employing the Newton polyhedral technique. The method involves reduction of the partial derivatives of f to single-variable polynomials and finding 8 the determinant factor in the estimation. f x and f yare reduced to one-variable polynomials by the employment of suitable parameters. The Newton polyhedrons associated with the polynomials so obtained are then considered. There exist common zeros of the single-variable polynomials whose p-adic orders correspond to the intersection points in the combination of the indicator diagrams associated with the respective Newton polyhedrons. This leads to sizes of common zeros of the partial derivatives of f. This information is then used to arrive at the above estimate

Aplikasi mudah alih bagi pembelajaran Bahasa Melayu berdasarkan kepada kaedah fonetik dan oral aural

Selaras dengan perkembangan ICT dan pengintegrasian teknologi dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran di peringkat sekolah Malaysia, penghasilan bahan bantu mengajar seperti Koswer serta menerusi web telah banyak dibangunkan. Begitu juga dengan penggunaan Mobile Learning seperti peranti pintar berplatfom Android dan iOS yang perlu dimanfaatkan sepenuhnya agar pendidikan di Malaysia berkembang seiring dengan pendidikan negara maju. Walaupun penggunaan Mobile Learning semakin berkembang dan diintegrasikan dalam pembelajaran namun reka bentuk penyampaiannya perlu diberi perhatian terutama kepada pelajar pendidikan khas yang sering dilihat ketinggalan dalam pembelajaran mereka. Sejajar dengan matlamat pendidikan negara terhadap pengimplementasian ICT dalam pendidikan, sebuah aplikasi mudah alih (apps) pembelajaran Bahasa Melayu dibangunkan berdasarkan kepada kaedah fonetik dan oral-aural. Justeru itu kajian ini dijalankan bagi menilai keberkesanan apps dalam menyokong perkembangan kemahiran membaca mereka berdasarkan kepada Model Reka Bentuk Hannafin and Peck. Dengan menggunakan kaedah fonetik dan oral-aural yang disuntik ke dalam apps Mari Baca ini, ia juga membantu dalam perubahan tingkah laku pelajar lembam sekaligus menyokong kepada peningkatan prestasi pembelajaran mereka. Seramai 5 orang responden terlibat dalam kajian ini dalam kalangan pelajar Pendidikan Khas Bermasalah Pembelajaran (PKBP) di salah sebuah sekolah luar bandar. Dengan nilai kebolehpercayaan instrumen a = 0.835, hasil dapatan yang diperoleh menunjukkan pencapaian pelajar telah meningkat kepada tahap lebih baik. Secara keseluruhan, penggunaan apps Mari Baca dalam pembelajaran pelajar lembam telah menunjukkan perkembangan yang baik terhadap pencapaian dan kemahiran membaca serta perubahan yang positif terhadap tingkah laku mereka

Pendidikan merupakan suatu usaha berterusan untuk memperkembangkan lagi potensi individu dalam melahirkan modal insan yang berilmu pengetahuan dan mampu berdikari. Hasrat ini termaktub dalam Falsafah Pendidikan Kebangsaan yang menentukan arah haluan, asas dan sumber inspirasi kepada semua usaha dan rancangan dalam bidang pendidikan di Malaysia. Pada tahun 2003, satu dasar baru pendidikan diperkenalkan iaitu Pengajaran Pendidikan Sains dan Matematik dalam Bahasa Inggeris (PPSMI). Tujuan dasar baru ini diperkenalkan adalah untuk memperkukuhkan dan meningkatkan penguasaan bahasa Inggeris di kalangan pelajar Malaysia. Namun, pada tahun 2009 dasar PPSMI mulai dimansuhkan secara berperingkat dan sepenuhnya pada 2012. On the integral solutions of the diophantine equation x4 + y4 = z3

This paper is concerned with the existence, types and the cardinality of the integral solutions for diophantine equation x4y4z3+ = where x , y and z are integers. The aim of this paper was to develop methods to be used in finding all solutions to this equation. Results of the study show the existence of infinitely many solutions to this type of diophantine equation in the ring of integers for both cases, x=y and x y. For the case when x=y, the form of solutions is given by (x,y,z)=(4n3,4n3,8n4), while for the case when x y, the form of solutions is given by (x,y,z)=(un3k-1,vn3k-1,n4k-1). The main result obtained is a formulation of a generalized method to find all the solutions for both types of diophantine equations
