The present study was carried out in an attempt to investigate the relationship among EFL teachers' creativity, classroom management strategies, and learners' improvement. To achieve the objective of the research, a group of 60 male and female learners, between the ages of 15 and 19 from a language school in Lamerd city were selected. To obtain the required data, the following questionnaires were utilized: English Language Teaching Creativity Quotient (ELTCQ) Questionnaire, Classroom management questionnaire, and Final exam. The results of correlation analyses revealed that there was no significant relationship between EFL teachers’ creativity and classroom management strategies. Moreover, a positive medium relationship between EFL teacher's classroom management and their EFL learners' improvement was observed. In addition, a positive significant correlation was revealed between classroom management strategies and EFL learners' improvement. This study also demonstrated that classroom management strategies were better predictors about EFL learners' improvement compared with creativity

Detecting the adulteration in apple vinegar using olfactory machine coupled PCA and ANN methods

    Get PDF
Nowadays, the number of food adulteration cases is increasing sharply for reasons such as population growth, increasing demand and profitability of suppliers. Mixing apple vinegar with white vinegar and acetic acid are the most common methods of cheating on the market in Iran. In this study, an electrical olfactory system was used to detect pure apple vinegar from acetic acid and white vinegar. The data obtained from the sensors were analyzed by PCA and ANN methods after preprocessing. Based on the results, TGS822 and MQ136 sensors showed the highest response to odor of samples of vinegar mixed with acetic acid and white vinegar, respectively. Also, the confusion matrix obtained from ANN analysis for different levels of adulteration with acetic acid and white vinegar showed correct classification rate of 93.3% and 94.7%, respectively

The aim of the present research is to study the effect of actual currency rate on total productivity of factors of production in industrial sector of Iran. In other words. the effect of the actual currency rate on total productivity of factors of production in industrial sector of Iran was studied by using econometric method of OLS (ordinary least squares)  during 1974- 2006. On this basis, the effects of the actual rate of foreign currency, the openness rate of economy, foreign investment, private and public investment on total productivity of factors of production in the industrial sector of our country were analyzed and studied. In order to calculate total productivity of factors of production Divisia method has been used. The estimation outcome and model estimation indicate that there is a significant and reverse relationship between actual currency rate and economic openness degree with total productivity of factors of production in long-term. The results of this estimation indicate that, due to the dependency of the industry and economy of Iran to imported intermediate and capital goods having modern technologies, which are in turn the results of the R & D activities of developed countries; therefore, with an increase in actual currency rate the investment rate decreases due to capital goods becoming more expensive that this follows with a decrease in total productivity of factors of production. Also, the relationship between the openness rate of economy and total productivity of factors of production indicate that, due to the existence of some weaknesses and problems in Iran’s structures and especially in social structures, there is an increase in openness rate of economy resulting in a decrease in total productivity of factors of production of the industrial sector

The protective effects of Crocin on testopathy in fat-fed and streptozotocin-treated diabetic rats: An experimental study

Background: Male hypogonadism is associated with type II diabetes mellitus due to testicular dysfunction. Medicinal plants have received considerable attention for the management of diabetes and its complications. Objective: The aim of present study was to evaluate the anti-diabetic and protective influence of Crocin on testopathy in diabetic rats. Materials and Methods: In this experimental study, type II of diabetes mellitus was induced by high-fat diet and low dose of streptozotocin. Male Wistar rats (8 weeks,150–200 gr, 18 rats; n= 6 per group) were divided into a control group (standard diet), diabetic group (streptozotocin+high-fat diet), and treatment group (High fat diet+streptozotocin+Crocin at 20 mg/kg/day, i.p. for 60 days). After 60 days, animals were euthanized, testis and epididymis were dissected, and weights of testes and sperm count were analyzed. Hematoxylin-eosin-stained was done for histopathological examination. Blood samples were collected for the assessment of serum glucose and cholesterol. Results: High-fat diet and streptozotocin significantly increased the serum glucose and cholesterol levels as compared to the control group (p≤ 0. 001). Moreover, there was a significant decrease in the weight of right (p= 0.008) and left testes (p≤ 0.001) and also the total sperm count (p= 0.023) in the diabetic group compared with the control group. Current results also identified that type II diabetes mellitus induced degeneration in the morphology of seminiferous tubules. Application of Crocin could significantly decrease serum glucose and cholesterol levels (p= 0.003). Furthermore, Crocin treatment significantly increased the weight of the right (p= 0.026) and left (p= 0.014) testes and total sperm count (p= 0.000). Also, Crocin could attenuate the pathological changes of the testes in the treatment group. Conclusion: Present findings concluded that Crocin treatment improved diabetic testopathy and impairment of seminiferous tubules induced by high-fat diet and streptozotocin. QUANTUM DYNAMICS OF A TWO-LEVEL ATOM NEAR GOLD NANOSTRUCTURES

When an atomic/molecular system controlled by an external field (to imprint information on it, such as preparing a qubit), is brought near a plasmonic nanostructure, the control problem changes. On one hand, the field experienced by the atom is modified due to the plasmon effects of the nanostructure. On the other hand, due to atom-nanostructure interactions the quantum state spontaneous emission is increased. Purification of states is fundamental to the implementation of quantum technologies. My approach for state purification is based on the interplay of control fields and spontaneous emission from a two-level quantum system in presence of a gold nanoparticle (GNP). For a specific location of the system around the GNP, I can find a control field that increases the purity of the system more than without the GNP. Unlike previous efforts of state purification that involve cooling to the ground state, here the excited state population remains significant

Design and Application of a Novel Dehumidifying System for a Fluidized Bed Dryer for the Drying of Canola Seeds

    Get PDF
A novel fluidized bed dryer equipped with a dehumidifying system was designed and constructed. The dehumidifying system was based on refrigeration cycle and composed of an evaporator, a compressor, a condenser an expansion valve and a damper. The drying experiments were carried out in three temperature (35, 45 and 55°C) and three relative humidity (30, 50 and 70%) levels. The results showed that the relative humidity of drying air has a significant effect on drying rate. The drying rates decreased as relative humidity increased at a constant temperature, and increased as temperature increased at a constant relative humidity so dehumidifying can accelerate drying and decrease drying times
