THE PERFORMANCE EVALUATION OF FOUR TYPES WATER SOFTENER USED FOR BOILER
This project is to the performance evaluation of four types water softener used for
boiler, based on the existing commercial water softener. Many designs have been
utilized today, so here is a project to determine the best design of a water softener
tank.
Last semester, researches and studies are based on the existing commercial water
softener. Design specifications and parameters are determined for a specified
capacity of water usage. The first semester will be temporary halted by the initial
drawing ofthe new design.
This semester, by using CATIA software, the designs of the tank are drawn. Design
considerations will be judged for the designs. The project will continue with
performance calculations and the final design drawing.
Then, the fabrication is conducted in the workshop to construct the tanks with
different designs. After the experiments have been carried out, the results are taken
and the performance is calculated. The data will be analyzed and the best design is
chosen based on the comparison.
The comparison of performance is indicated by the hardness reduced, pH value and
the conductivity of the water after the softening process. The highest value among
four selected designs will be chosen as the best design with the best performance.
The discussion part will explain more about the result including the error occurred
during the experiment. The recommendation for improvement also provided at the
end of this report. As a conclusion, this experiment is successful to meet its objective
in finding the best design ofwater softener for the softening process
Evaluation of the Quality of Academic Programs in Colleges of Applied Studies and Community Services Kingdum of Saudi
Universities are scientific and educational institutions that aims to achieve many academic, research and community service objectives, the matter that has given it importance in the field of scientific, technological and service development. Because of the open door policy in higher education in many countries, which depends on quantitative and not qualitative expansion, it was always necessary to conduct review of the performance of universities and educational institutions in order to evaluate these institutions and ensure that they meet the quality requirements and standards. Evaluation of academic programs quality is one of the important contexts that modern research seeks to cover, study, and address. The quality assessment of academic programs enables universities to explore strengths and weaknesses in their academic performance, and provide them with the opportunity to make adjustments and develop plans for change and development based on accurate data analysis. Which contributes to the achievement of the high educational valuable mission and the achievement of academic goals, and deals with the complexities and difficulties associated with academic programs. Moreover, it contributes to highlight the shortcomings areas that require a degree of responsibility and accountability from decision and policy makers. Hence evaluating academic programs will be  reflection of the aspirations of the universities (Ali Alqazo.2017) Based on the Evaluation of the quality of academic programs offered by the Colleges of Applied Studies from the perspective of stakeholders (students, faculty members and employers), this study results prove that academic programs of the faculties of applied studies in Saudi public universities are of medium quality from the students, faculty staff and employers points of view. Next generation automotive embedded systems-on-chip and their applications
It is a well known fact in the automotive industry that critical and costly delays in the development cycle of powertrain1 controllers are unavoidable due to the complex nature of the systems-on-chip used in them. The primary goal of this portfolio is to show the development of new methodologies for the fast and efficient implementation of next generation powertrain applications and the associated automotive qualified systems-on-chip. A general guideline for rapid automotive applications development, promoting the integration of state-of-the-art tools and techniques necessary, is presented. The methods developed in this portfolio demonstrate a new and better approach to co-design of automotive systems that also raises the level of design abstraction. An integrated business plan for the development of a camless engine controller platform is presented. The plan provides details for the marketing plan, management and financial data.A comprehensive real-time system level development methodology for the implementation of an electromagnetic actuator based camless internal combustion engine is developed. The proposed development platform enables developers to complete complex software and hardware development before moving to silicon, significantly shortening the development cycle and improving confidence in the design.A novel high performance internal combustion engine knock processing strategy using the next generation automotive system-on-chip, particularly highlighting the capabilities of the first-of-its-kind single-instruction-multiple-data micro-architecture is presented. A patent application has been filed for the methodology and the details of the invention are also presented.Enhancements required for the performance optimisation of several resource properties such as memory accesses, energy consumption and execution time of embedded powertrain applications running on the developed system-on-chip and its next generation of devices is proposed. The approach used allows the replacement of various software segments by hardware units to speed up processing.1 Powertrain: A name applied to the group of components used to transmit engine power to the driving wheels. It can consist of engine, clutch, transmission, universal joints, drive shaft, differential gear, and axle shafts
Private governance and public governance: An attempt at theoretical and interdisciplinary rapprochement
A history of research on governance would show that the first theoretical works on this concept were developed in the early 1930s, essentially within Anglo-Saxon managerial firms. It follows then that governance, since its appearance in the theoretical literature, is part of a perspective of regulation of the behavior of leaders and the definition of the rules of the managerial game. However, the findings of Berle and Means (1932) only confirmed older literature, widely answered in political science, which deals with the governance of political leaders. Thus, whether it is a question of addressing the relationship between the rulers and the people (public governance) or between the leaders and the shareholders (private governance), the problem always falls within the field of governance. In reality, these interdisciplinary connections are not surprising since governance itself is defined as being a system of regulation of the managerial game which implicitly induces an institutional dimension, natural in political science, law and sociology, and which in economics has experienced a real revival of interest with the emergence of the neo-institutionalist current, in particular the approach of (North, 1990a). It is indeed this intertwining that constitutes what governance researchers call National Systems of Governance (NGS) or “global governance” or even “culture of governance”.
This research aims to present the different theories of governance that make it possible to understand this intertwining between private and public governance.
