What is the universal property of the 2-category of monads?

For a 2-category K\mathcal{K}, we consider Street's 2-category Mnd(K\mathcal{K}) of monads in K\mathcal{K}, along with Lack and Street's 2-category EM(K\mathcal{K}) and the identity-on-objects-and-1-cells 2-functor Mnd(K\mathcal{K}) \to EM(K\mathcal{K}) between them. We show that this 2-functor can be obtained as a ``free completion'' of the 2-functor 1 ⁣:KK1\colon \mathcal{K} \to \mathcal{K}. We do this by regarding 2-functors which act as the identity on both objects and 1-cells as categories enriched a cartesian closed category BO\mathbf{BO} whose objects are identity-on-objects functors. We also develop some of the theory of BO\mathbf{BO}-enriched categories

Background: The Australian First Few X (FFX) Household Transmission Project for COVID-19 was the first prospective, multi-jurisdictional study of its kind in Australia. The project was undertaken as a partnership between federal and state health departments and the Australian Partnership for Preparedness Research on Infectious Disease Emergencies (APPRISE) and was active from April to October 2020. Methods: We aimed to identify and explore the challenges and strengths of the Australian FFX Project to inform future FFX study development and integration into pandemic preparedness plans. We asked key stakeholders and partners involved with implementation to identify and rank factors relating to the strengths and challenges of project implementation in two rounds of modified Delphi surveys. Key representatives from jurisdictional health departments were then interviewed to contextualise findings within public health processes and information needs to develop a final set of recommendations for FFX study development in Australia. Results: Four clear recommendations emerged from the evaluation. Future preparedness planning should aim to formalise and embed partnerships between health departments and researchers to help better integrate project data collection into core public health surveillance activities. The development of functional, adaptable protocols with pre-established ethics and governance approvals and investment in national data infrastructure were additional priority areas noted by evaluation participants. Conclusion: The evaluation provided a great opportunity to consolidate lessons learnt from the Australian FFX Household Transmission Project. The developed recommendations should be incorporated into future pandemic preparedness plans in Australia to enable effective implementation and increase local utility and value of the FFX platform within emergency public health response

This research discusses religious diversity which is a natural part of the modern school environment. Each school member adheres to a different religion, has different traditions, and celebrates different religious holidays. Therefore, it is very important for schools to create an atmosphere where everyone, regardless of religion or belief, can feel welcome. Islam, Catholicism, Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism and Confucianism are some of the religions widely practiced in Indonesia. The research aims to find out how students' attitudes respect diversity by using quantitative research methods by collecting data through questionnaires given to grade 8 students at SMP Negeri 14 Medan with a total of 26 respondents. This data will be analyzed statistically to determine students' understanding of religious diversity. As a pluralistic nation, Indonesia will certainly face small conflicts and even major betrayals. The disintegration of the nation will certainly have an impact if this disease is not treated. For this reason, it is necessary to instill an understanding of religious pluralism without conflict in students from childhood

In-depth verification of Sentinel-1 and TerraSAR-X geolocation accuracy using the Australian Corner Reflector Array

This article shows how the array of corner reflectors (CRs) in Queensland, Australia, together with highly accurate geodetic synthetic aperture radar (SAR) techniques—also called imaging geodesy—can be used to measure the absolute and relative geometric fidelity of SAR missions. We describe, in detail, the end-to-end methodology and apply it to TerraSAR-X Stripmap (SM) and ScanSAR (SC) data and to Sentinel-1interferometric wide swath (IW) data. Geometric distortions within images that are caused by commonly used SAR processor approximations are explained, and we show how to correct them during postprocessing. Our results, supported by the analysis of 140 images across the different SAR modes and using the 40 reflectors of the array, confirm our methodology and achieve the limits predicted by theory for both Sentinel-1 and TerraSAR-X. After our corrections, the Sentinel-1 residual errors are 6 cm in range and 26 cm in azimuth, including all error sources. The findings are confirmed by the mutual independent processing carried out at University of Zurich (UZH) and German Aerospace Center (DLR). This represents an improvement of the geolocation accuracy by approximately a factor of four in range and a factor of two in azimuth compared with the standard Sentinel-1 products. The TerraSAR-X results are even better. The achieved geolocation accuracy now approaches that of the global navigation satellite system (GNSS)-based survey of the CRs positions, which highlights the potential of the end-to-end SAR methodology for imaging geodesy
