    RACISM IN ROBERT TOWNE’S ASK THE DUST MOVIE (2006): A SOCIOLOGICAL APPROACH

    This research paper elaborates the difficulty faced by immigrant in Great Depression Era in Los Angeles, which analyzed through sociological approach. The objectives of the research, are to analyze the movie based on its structural elements and to analyze the movie based on its structural elements and to analyze the movie based on the sociological approach, by identifying the relation between the movie and the social background of the early twentieth first century American society. This research paper belongs to a qualitative research. The sources of the data come from both primary data source, which is Ask the Dust movie and secondary data sources are information about the author’s biography, websites about the movie, the social background of American society in the early twentieth first century and theory of sociological. The method to analyze the data is descriptive analysis. Having analyzed the movie, the researcher comes to the conclusion as follows: Firstly, based on the structural analysis, it is evident that in Ask the Dust movie, Robert Towne wants to convey a moral message that racism is not appropriate with humanity. Secondly, based on the sociological analysis, it is clear that there is a close relation between the production of this movie and the social reality underlying it. The major factors that contribute to the production of the movie among others are the global issues of racism in Great Depression Era in 1932

    Study on Pollen Quality and Quantity as Protein Source of Honeybee Apis Mellifera in Rubber Plantation Area (Hevea Brasiliensis)

    This research was conducted in the spring rubber in the rubber plantation area in Loncatan Village Leap District Mangaran Ajung Jember district for 2 (two) months. The research objective is to observe the pollen combs area in rubber plantation area, know the protein content of combs pollen and assess the type and composition of amino acids of combs pollen.The materials used in research is the honey bee Apis mellifera colony of 7 colonies, each containing 9 units active frames. Adapted colonies in the study site for a week to eliminate the influence of feed from the previous place. During the study, colonies of bees do not get extra food so that all food comes from nature. Observations were carried out after a period of adaptation with a collection combs pollen. Measurement of pollen combs area done every week during the study period. Analysis of proteins made from combs pollen is collected each week, using the Kjeldahl method. Analysis of a type and composition of amino acids using amino acid analyzer (Hitachi, 1984) and then compare with the results of research de Groot (1953). Data obtained from these observations were analyzed descriptively to get an overview of research results.The results showed that during the study period in the area of rubber plantations there are variations in the comb area pollen honey bees collected at each week during the study with an average of 60.80 ± 2.857 cm2, the protein content is 3.77 ± 0.629%, there are 10 species amino acids in very low levels between 0,212 - 1,251 %.The conclusion of this research is during migratory beekeeping in the area of rubber plantation, bees get pollen low amounts of protein and amino acid levels below the requirement

    Artificial Intelligence-Assisted Writing Application for Improving Writing Skills of Islamic Education Students

    This study is aimed to illuminate the use of AI-assisted writing applications to improve academic writing skills and describe how to implement AI-assisted writing applications for EFL academic writing. This study is qualitative reasearch. The data is collected through analysis of writing task and interview about the use of Artificial Intelligence in academic writing. After analyzing students’ writing task and interview related to the use of AI in language teaching, especially in writing. The study revealed that the use of AI-assisted applications is beneficial for students, especially students of Islamic education study program. The applications could help the students construct paragraphs, correct the structures, and even paraphrase the paragraphs. The use of AI in writing will not replace human existence since AI-assisted writing application is just a tool, there should be creativity and logical reasoning in writing an academic article. The use of Artificial intelligent-assisted applications could be applied as new model to increase students’ writing skills since there are many features and easiness offered by AI technology

    “The quality of education is the top priority of every education unit in Bojonegoro Regency so that various activities programs are raised by schools and establish cooperation with communities especially parents of student guardians or committees in the form of active participation and involvement in various fields. This study included the qualitative type of data collection with observation, documents, and authority, analyzed by qualitative descriptive to answer the research focus on the form of committee participation and the quality of education in SMP N 1 and SMP N 2 Bojonegoro. The results of the study indicate that committee participation in educational units in the academic and non-academic fields, for example, input curriculum development, infrastructure or funding. The quality of education in two schools can be proven by the fulfillment of eight educational standards and added one character standard which is input from the committee as well as high public interest in the school, and alumni accepted in favorite secondary schools (input, process, and output). The answer to the two research focuses is in accordance with Johnlitlle's theory of participation and Deming's theory of quality.

    Impact of COVID-19 Pandemic on Gender Mainstreaming Implementation in 2020 in Batu City, East Java

    The study aims to identify the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on gender mainstreaming (PUG) imple­mentation in Batu City and how the local government res­ponds to it. Focus Group discussion (FDG) with local government is run to obtain data. By using seven elements commonly used to evaluate PUG implementation, this study shows that the COVID-19 pandemic has remarkably impacted PUG implementation. No specific policies have yet been made within the PUG framework. PUG institutions are also not involved in the COVID-19 task force. There have been efforts to respond to pandemics’ impact in some sectors but not all in PUG. Human resources have not been explicitly prepared in dealing with women’s problems during the COVID-19 pandemic. The budget is reallocated so that even routine activities cannot be fully carried out. Community partici­pation is also helpful in tackling the pandemic, although it has not specifically responded to the impact on PUG. The study shows the importance of integrating a disas­ter perspective in the monitoring and evaluation of PUG. It demonstrates the importance of integrating a disaster per­spective in PUG and crucial gender-disaggregated data related to disaster impacts

    Pendekatan Budaya “Jagongan” pada Masyarakat Pedesaan di Kabupaten Bojonegoro

    Religious behavior is a condition that exists in humans, which encourages someone to do or behave related to religious teachings. Various institutions in human life will influence and direct the actions or behavior of citizens. To build the religious behavior of rural communities religious leaders conduct guidance with weekly recitation, tahlil, and sholawatan. The animal society is still lacking in religious behavior, most residents and children cannot read the Koran, let alone understand the teachings of Islam, and on average they have not performed the five-time compulsory prayer. Based on data from Kedewan Village 100% of its citizens are Muslim, the habit of people gathering at night or in the morning when they take their sons and daughters to study, such community meetings are called "jagongan". Therefore, one of the methods or approaches taken in the context of building religious behavior in the community is by taking part in the show, because they are not yet accustomed to paper invitations, but still through direct talks to meet each other. In this watch, it gives input to the parents' thoughts about religious activities so that changes in behavior and practice of Islamic teachings occur.Perilaku beragama merupakan suatu keadaan yang ada pada diri manusia, yang mendorong seseorang berbuat atau bertingkah laku terkait ajaran agama. Berbagai pranata dalam kehidupan manusia akan mempengaruhi dan mengarahkan tindakan atau perilaku warga masyarakat. Untuk membangun perilaku beragama masyarakat pedesaan para tokoh agama melakukan  pembinaan dengan pengajian mingguan, tahlil, dan sholawatan. Masyarakat kedewan masih minim perilaku beragama, sebagian besar warga dan anak-anak belum bisa membaca al-Qur’an apalagi memahami ajaran agama Islam, dan rata-rata belum menjalankan ibadah sholat wajib lima waktu. Berdasarkan data dari Desa Kedewan 100% warganya beragama Islam, kebiasaan masyarakat kumpul-kumpul  waktu malam atau pada pagi hari saat mereka mengantar putra putrinya belajar, pertemuan masyarakat seperti itu disebut dengan “jagongan”. Oleh karena itu salah satu cara atau pendekatan yang dilakukan dalam  rangka membangun perilaku beragama pada masyarakat dengan ikut nimbrung jagongan, karena mereka belum terbiasa dengan undangan kertas, tapi masih lewat pembicaraan langsung saling ketemu. Dalam jagongan tersebut  memberi masukan pada pemikiran orangtua tentang kegiatan-kegiatan keagamaan agar terjadi perubahan perilaku dan menjalankan ajaran agama Islam

All elements must be clean, academic society is revived, the building of science is reorganized as in the spirit of al-Qur'an and al-Hadist. The great hope of the Islamic community at PTAIS is the establishment of an Islamic Higher Education institution that offers programs to address the problems of modern and sophisticated society based on Islamic values

    The Portrait of Local Wisdom Values in Constructing Character Education Management in Indonesia

    This study aims to interpret the value of local madrasa wisdom. Habitualization of these values is then used as social capital in building a character education management paradigm. It is based on various problems faced in Islamic education management. Thus, to provide a holistic and in-depth understanding, this research used a qualitative approach with the social construction theory of Peter L. Berger. It was through the dialectical relationship between externalization, objectivation, and internalization. This study found that 1) madrasa local wisdom is essentially a manifestation of the Qur'an as a (belief system) and becomes the basis for managing Islamic education; 2) madrasa local wisdom, such as; honesty, discipline, togetherness, commitment, simplicity, independence, sincerity, leadership, hard work, and responsibility, understood as positive energy and internalized in the madrasa environment; 3) habitualization of the value of local wisdom of madrasa, is a social capital which is then transmitted in the management of Islamic education so that it can influence all practical individual social thoughts and actions in the organization.   Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menginterpretasikan dan memaknai nilai kearifan lokal madrasa, habitualisasi nilai tersebut kemudian dijadikan sebagai modal sosial dalam membangun paradigma manajemen pendidikan karakter, hal ini didasarkan atas pelbagai persoalan di bidang pengelolaan pendidikan Islam baik secara fondasional maupun operasional dan belum terselesaikan. Demikian untuk memberikan  pemahaman secara holistik dan mendalam, penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teori konstruksi sosial Peter L. Berger, melalui hubungan dialektis antara eksternalisasi, objektivasi dan internalisasi. Penelitian ini menghasilkan beberapa temuan; 1) kearifan lokal madrasa pada hakikatnya merupakan manifestasi dari al-Qur’an sebagai (belief system) dan menjadi dasar pengelolaan pendidikan Islam; 2) kearifan lokal madrasa, seperti; kejujuran, kedisiplinan, kebersamaan, komitmen, kesederhanaan, kemandirian, keikhlasan, kepemimpinan, bekerja keras dan tanggung jawab, difahami sebagai energi positif dan di internalisasikan dalam lingkungan madrasa; 3) habitualisasi nilai kearifan lokal madrasa, merupakan sebuah modal sosial (social capital) yang kemudian ditransmisikan dalam pengelolaan  pendidikan Islam, sehingga dapat mempengaruhi seluruh pemikiran dan tindakan sosial individu yang efektif dalam organisasi

    PENGARUH KOMPETENSI DAN INDEPENDENSI TERHADAP KUALITAS AUDIT DENGAN ETIKA AUDITOR SEBAGAI VARIABEL MODERATING (STUDI EMPIRIS PADA AUDITOR YANG BEKERJA DI KAP PEKANBARU)

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui secara empiris adanya pengaruh kompetensi, independensi terhadap kualitas audit dengan etika auditor sebagai Variabel Moderating. Sedangkan manfaat dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menjadi sumbangan pemikiran bagi auditor dalam menjaga kualitas audit yang diberikannya. Populasi yang diteliti adalah 8 kantor akuntan publik yang ada di Pekanbaru. Untuk mengumpulkan data dan informasi yang diperlukan dalam penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan data primer, teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah Cross Section Data yaitu data dikumpulkan pada satu waktu yang dikumpulkan dengan metode kuesioner. Data yang diolah sebanyak 34 responden. Kuisioner didesain untuk memperoleh data dari 4 variabel penelitian yaitu: Kompetensi, Independensi, Etika Auditor dan Kualitas Audit. Untuk menguji hipotesis dan pengaruh variabel bebas terhadap variabel terikat dan untuk mengetahui pengaruh variabel Moderating di lakukan uji t dan f, dan untuk mengetahui kontribusi pengaruh dari semua variabel bebas secara bersama-sama terhadap variabel terikat dilakukan dengan uji koefisien determinasi (R2). Dari hasil penelitian ini bahwa (1) Kompetensi berpengaruh signifikan terhadap Kualitas Audit, (2)Independensi tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap Kualitas Audit (3) Etika Auditor tidak berpengaruh signifikan sebagai variabel Moderating antara Kompetensi dan Independensi terhadap Kualitas Audit Kata Kunci : Kompetensi, Independensi, Etika Auditor dan Kualitas Audit
