Gaussian modeling and Schmidt modes of SPDS biphoton states

A double-Gaussian model and the Schmidt modes are found for the biphoton wave function characterizing spontaneous parametric down-conversion with the degenerate collinear phase-matching of the type I and with a pulsed pump. The obtained results are valid for all durations of the pump pulses, short, long and intermediately long

Quality of life as the basis for achieving social welfare of the population

The paper discusses the concept and features of life quality as a socio-economic category. The main signs of quality of life of the population are shown. The analysis of different methodologies to measure indicators of life quality is given. It is shown that the most authoritative measure of the quality of life in the world is the β€œHuman Development Index” (HDI). The main task of authorities at different levels to improve the quality of life of the population is described

The purpose of this study is to present our vision of assessing the recreational potential of the territory (RPT) for its effective management. We suggest using this territory assessment method, which consists of two main stages: assessment of the recreational component of the natural environment and assessment of the necessary amount of investment to use the recreational biodiversity of the territories. The article analyzes the approaches and presents the results of a comprehensive assessment of the recreational potential of the forest lands of the Sverdlovsk region. Created a map ranking the Sverdlovsk region according to the results of research with application for developing a comprehensive assessment of RPT on the methods, developed on the basis of the theory of "games with nature": the method of structured comparison of RPT on the Hurwitz criterion, aspiring to the maximum and to identify the factors dominating the impact from the application of the Wald criterion. Based on the conducted research on the analysis of the influence of forests on the formation of recreational characteristics, the authors obtained weighted average generalized coefficients of recreational attractiveness of forests of different types in the forest management areas of the Sverdlovsk region and identified 10 forest-cadastre areas in the Sverdlovsk region. This paper also presents a developed and tested method for a comprehensive assessment of the recreational potential of forest lands in the territory of the Sverdlovsk region in order to attract investment. Preliminary investment volumes for the development of the Sverdlovsk region's RPT (based on the cost of forest biodiversity) are presented. We consider the proposed territory ranking to be a necessary indicator for effective management of the subject's territories. Β© The Authors, published by EDP Sciences. Competitiveness indicators of catering business entities : the case of Russia

    Get PDF
Purpose: The article analyzes the existing marketing strategies in catering and define their influence on the competitiveness level of catering business entities in Russia. Design/Methodology/Approach: This article is dedicated to generalizing papers on the problems of catering marketing strategy formation. The object of the research is marketing strategies in catering and their influence on the competitiveness level of the entities. Findings: The novelty of the research is an algorithm of evaluation of the competitiveness level and marketing strategy adjustment of operating catering business entities based on the analysis of their major performance indicators. The algorithm with its system of certain indicators allows defining the competitiveness level, selecting and adjusting marketing strategies and sub-strategies, and, thus, enhancing the effectiveness of catering business entity performance. Practical implications: Flexibility and adaptiveness of this system entails that any catering business entity can select priority indicators from it and then calculate them to adjust marketing strategies and sub-strategies based on data obtained in the meantime. Originality/Value: The value lies in the disclosure of industry specifics of strategic marketing management in a definite economic activity considering essential strategic and operational factors which determine ultimate economic effectiveness of target marketing exposures.peer-reviewe

Extraction processing of concentrated solutions of uranyl nitrate with high impurities content

Process flowsheet of recycling uranium concentrated solutions with its purification from insoluble impurities of iron, silicon, molybdenum, calcium oxides and hydroxides and soluble impurities with application of centrifugal extractors cascade has been developed and suggested for commercial introduction. The process was carried out at extractant saturation (30 % tributyl phosphate in hydrocarbon diluent) in extraction assembly lower than a limiting level (85...95 g/l) and in wash assembly - at limiting saturation (up to 120 g/l). As a result the waste uranium content in water-tail solutions 0,01...0,04 g/l and minimal content of impurities in re-extractors is provide

Sodium-Vanadium Bronze Na9V14O35: An Electrode Material for Na-Ion Batteries

    Get PDF
Na9V14O35 (Ξ·-NaxV2O5) has been synthesized via solid-state reaction in an evacuated sealed silica ampoule and tested as electroactive material for Na-ion batteries. According to powder X-ray diffraction, electron diffraction and atomic resolution scanning transmission electron microscopy, Na9V14O35 adopts a monoclinic structure consisting of layers of corner- and edge-sharing VO5 tetragonal pyramids and VO4 tetrahedra with Na cations positioned between the layers, and can be considered as sodium vanadium(IV,V) oxovanadate Na9V104.1+O19(V5+O4)4. Behavior of Na9V14O35 as a positive and negative electrode in Na half-cells was investigated by galvanostatic cycling against metallic Na, synchrotron powder X-ray diffraction and electron energy loss spectroscopy. Being charged to 4.6 V vs. Na+/Na, almost 3 Na can be extracted per Na9V14O35 formula, resulting in electrochemical capacity of ~60 mAh gβˆ’1. Upon discharge below 1 V, Na9V14O35 uptakes sodium up to Na:V = 1:1 ratio that is accompanied by drastic elongation of the separation between the layers of the VO4 tetrahedra and VO5 tetragonal pyramids and volume increase of about 31%. Below 0.25 V, the ordered layered Na9V14O35 structure transforms into a rock-salt type disordered structure and ultimately into amorphous products of a conversion reaction at 0.1 V. The discharge capacity of 490 mAh gβˆ’1 delivered at first cycle due to the conversion reaction fades with the number of charge-discharge cycles
