YesThe blockchain has received significant attention from technology focussed researchers, highlighting its perceived impact and emerging disruption potential, but has been slow to engender any significant momentum within the Information Systems (IS) and Information Management (IM) literature. This study approaches the subject through an IS/IM lens developing the key themes from the blockchain based research via a comprehensive review. This analysis of the body of literature highlights that although few commercial grade blockchain applications currently exist, the technology demonstrates significant potential to benefit a number of industry wide use cases. This study expands on this point articulating through each of the key themes to develop a detailed narrative on the numerous potential blockchain applications and future direction of the technology, whilst discussing the many barriers to adoption. The study asserts that blockchain technology has the potential to contribute to a number of the UN Sustainability Development Goals and engender widespread change within a number of established industries and practices

As of 2019, the number of international migrants worldwide stood at almost 272 million (or 3.5 percent of the world’s population), according to UN Population Division estimates. This incredibly handy map shows the immigrant and emigrant populations by country of origin and destination. Select a country from the dropdown menu to learn where immigrants originate and the countries in which emigrants settle. If emigrants is selected, bubbles will appear over top countries of destination, sized according to the estimated emigrant population in each country. (Hover over individual bubbles to learn the population sizes by country.) Selecting immigrants as the population indicator will display bubbles over key countries of origin for the immigrant population of a selected country based on estimated population size

Unaccompanied Children Released to Sponsors by State and County, FY 2014-Present

There has been substantial growth in the number of children arriving without a parent or guardian at the U.S-Mexico border since 2011, though with significant year-to-year variations. Unaccompanied children apprehended or determined inadmissible by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) are referred to the federal Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR), an agency within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The agency places children in ORR-funded shelters or other facilities and undertakes efforts along with ORR-funded staff to determine if the children have a parent or other potential sponsor with whom they can live while awaiting their imMigration proceedings. Children are released to approved sponsors after a screening process. This interactive tool draws on available ORR data and shows the number of unaccompanied minors released to sponsors by state and the state\u27s share of children released from federal custody annually since 2014. The tool also provides select county-level data. Scroll through the fiscal year (FY) filter to show all federal fiscal years for which data are available or to narrow to a specific year. Hover over a state or territory to see data for that area. To get county-level data, select a state or territory and review the top counties list on the right-hand panel. The bar graph under the map changes depending on the selected state or territory. If a state or territory is not selected, the bar graphs will display nationwide results for all fiscal years. And to see numbers and rankings for states and counties for a year or all years, go to “Get the Data.
