Black hole solutions in Chern-Simons AdS supergravity

We study charged AdS black hole solutions in five-dimensional Chern-Simons supergravity. The minimal supergroup containing such AdSxU(1) configurations is the superunitary group SU(2,2|N). For this model, we find analytic black hole solutions that asymptote to locally AdS spacetime at the boundary. A solution can carry U(1) charge provided the spacetime torsion is non-vanishing. Thus, we analyze the most general configuration consistent with the local AdS isometries in Riemann-Cartan space. The coupling of torsion in the action resembles that of the universal axion of string theory, and it is ultimately due to this field that the theory acquires propagating degrees of freedom. Through a careful analysis of the canonical structure the local degrees of freedom of the theory are identified in the static symmetric sector of phase space.Comment: 45 pages, no figure

¿Existe un Impacto Significativo de la distribución del Canon Minero en las Inversiones Públicas Regionales en el Perú? Metodología de Distribución y Eficiencia del Gasto en Debate

La metodología utilizada es la de evaluación de impacto, utilizando la estrategia econométrica basada en el estimador Diff in Diff; y por otro lado se hace una discusión al poner en debate el enfoque de la distribución del canon, y abordando el análisis de la eficiencia y calidad del gasto. Se concluye que existe un impacto directo y significativo de la distribución del canon minero en el gasto de capital en las regiones del Perú. Se confirma que su distribución es inequitativa y que es sumamente urgente, analizar y definir claramente el orden de prioridades de las inversiones, buscando que sean realmente, proyectos de impacto local y regional, que constituyan un verdadero soporte primero de equidad y luego de justicia social

Calibration of Gantry-Tau Robot and Prototyping of Extruder for 3D Printing

This master thesis is about improving the accuracy of a Gantry-Tau robot by identifying the key parameters in the kinematics of the robot. This is done using a vision system and then estimating the parameters by minimizing the closure equation of the kinematics. The robot with improved control is then used for additive manufacturing. Furthermore, a prototype for a large plastic printer head is presented

Youth participation in development planning: case study of Sayausí (Rural Parish) Cuenca-Ecuador

Young people now represent the highest percentage of the world population. Soon, they will be seniors and they will take decisions for a more orderly and equitable world. For this reason, the participation of young people in development planning is very important and many countries are trying to promote it through various measures. This article analyzes the trajectory of youth participation in the Latin American region and specifically the profile of youth participation in Ecuador, country in which the Constitution recognizes the strategic role of youth in development. The case study of Sayausí rural parish in canton Cuenca is analyzed, through surveys, interviews and an Empowerment Evaluation workshop to young people and decentralized government. The results obtained allow to propose strategies to help improve the participation of youth in the community

Relación entre factores sociodemográficos y conocimientos, actitudes y prácticas de fotoprotección en internos de medicina humana del Hospital Militar Central Lima 2022-2023

INTRODUCCIÓN: Actualmente hay un incremento en los casos de cáncer de piel melanoma y no melanoma en nuestro país, debido principalmente a estar expuesto con altos índices de rayos uv, siendo así necesaria la protección constante de la población, este incremento está relacionado al bajo nivel de conocimiento y actitudes de fotoprotección y de los riesgos producidos. OBJETIVO: Determinar la relación entre factores sociodemográficos y conocimientos, actitudes y prácticas de fotoprotección en internos de medicina humana del Hospital Militar Central Lima 2022-2023. Métodos: Se realizó un estudio de tipo transversal, analítico, aplicándose una encuesta validada con una población de estudio constituida por 105 internos de Medicina Humana del Hospital Militar Central del 2022-2023, de los cuales se logró encuestar a todos, realizándose el análisis de datos con un intervalo de confianza del 95%. RESULTADOS: De los 105 internos se encontró que la mayoría contaba con un nivel alto del 97.1% (102) en conocimientos, 81.0% (85) en actitudes y un nivel medio 68.6% (72) en prácticas. Los factores sociodemográficos que tuvieron relación significativa con las actitudes fueron el género y la ciudad de procedencia (p=0.022 y p=0.035 respectivamente, del mismo modo que con el nivel de prácticas tuvo el género (p=0.043). CONCLUSIÓN: Se determinó la relación entre el género y la ciudad de procedencia con las actitudes y prácticas de fotoprotección en los internos de medicina del Hospital Militar Central en la Ciudad de Lima.INTRODUCTION: There is currently an increase in cases of melanoma and nonmelanoma skin cancer in our country, mainly due to being exposed to high levels of UV rays, thus requiring constant protection of the population, this increase is related to the low level of knowledge and attitudes of photoprotection and of the risks produced. OBJECTIVE: To determine the relationship between sociodemographic factors and knowledge, attitudes and photoprotection practices in human medicine interns at the Central Military Hospital Lima 2022- 2023. MATERIAL AND METHODS: A cross-sectional, analytical study was performed, applying a validated survey with a study population made up of 105 Human Medicine interns of the Central Military Hospital from 2022-2023, of which it was possible to survey all of them, performing the analysis of data with a confidence interval of 95%. RESULTS: Of the 105 inmates, it was found that the majority had a high level of 97.1% (102) in knowledge, 81.0% (85) in attitudes and a medium level of 68.6% (72) in practice. The sociodemographic factors that had a significant relationship with the attitudes were the gender and the city of origin (p=0.022 and p=0.035 respectively, in the same way that the gender had the level of practices (p=0.043). CONCLUSION: There is an association between the gender and the city of origin with the photoprotection attitudes and practices in medical interns of the Central Military Hospital in the city of Lima.Tesi

Simple procedure to compute the inductance of a toroidal ferrite core from the linear to the saturation regions

We propose a specific procedure to compute the inductance of a toroidal ferrite core as a function of the excitation current. The study includes the linear, intermediate and saturation regions. The procedure combines the use of Finite Element Analysis in 2D and experimental measurements. Through the two dimensional (2D) procedure we are able to achieve convergence, a reduction of computational cost and equivalent results to those computed by three dimensional (3D) simulations. The validation is carried out by comparing 2D, 3D and experimental results

Nonlinear Modeling of E-Type Ferrite Inductors Using Finite Element Analysis in 2D

We present here a modeling procedure for inductors with an E-shaped ferrite core valid for calculating the inductance of an equivalent circuit from the linear operating region to the saturation region. The procedure was developed using Finite Elements in 2D. We demonstrate that using a 2D section of the real core the results obtained are similar to the real ones, which solves the problem of convergence that appeared when E type cores were simulated in 3D, while also saving computational cost. We also discuss the effect of the gap-thickness on the magnetic properties. The data obtained by simulation are compared with experimental results
