Efektivitas Terapi Kognitif Perilakuan Terhadap Pasien Yang Mendapatkan Pengobatan Medis Anti Ansietas
Pemakaian pengobatan medis anti ansietas dalam jangka waktu tertentu dapat menimbulkan risiko ketergantungan pada pengobatan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas terapi kognitif perilakuan pada program penurunan dosis anti ansietas secara bertahap serta untuk menurunkan gejala ansietas. Subjek penelitian adalah dua orang pasien yang mendapatkan pengobatan anti ansietas. Tritmen yang diberikan adalah terapi kognitif perilakuan sebanyak 8 sesi dengan rentang waktu masing-masing sesi antara 4 sampai 5 hari. Desain penelitian adalah eksperimen N kecil dengan disain AB. Dosis (frekuensi dan jumlah) pemakaian pengobatan medis diukur menggunakan lembar monitoring pemakaian obat setiap hari dan gejala ansietas diukur menggunakan Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI). OPT3 is a component of the iron-signaling network between leaves and roots and misregulation of OPT3 leads to an over-accumulation of cadmium in seeds.
Plants and seeds are the main dietary sources of zinc, iron, manganese, and copper, but are also the main entry point for toxic elements such as cadmium into the food chain. We report here that an Arabidopsis oligopeptide transporter mutant, opt3-2, over-accumulates cadmium (Cd) in seeds and roots but, unexpectedly, under-accumulates Cd in leaves. The cadmium distribution in opt3-2 differs from iron, zinc, and manganese, suggesting a metal-specific mechanism for metal partitioning within the plant. The opt3-2 mutant constitutively up-regulates the Fe/Zn/Cd transporter IRT1 and FRO2 in roots, indicative of an iron-deficiency response. No genetic mutants that impair the shoot-to-root signaling of iron status in leaves have been identified. Interestingly, shoot-specific expression of OPT3 rescues the Cd sensitivity and complements the aberrant expression of IRT1 in opt3-2 roots, suggesting that OPT3 is required to relay the iron status from leaves to roots. OPT3 expression was found in the vasculature with preferential expression in the phloem at the plasma membrane. Using radioisotope experiments, we found that mobilization of Fe from leaves is severely affected in opt3-2, suggesting that Fe mobilization out of leaves is required for proper trace-metal homeostasis. When expressed in yeast, OPT3 does not localize to the plasma membrane, precluding the identification of the OPT3 substrate. Our in planta results show that OPT3 is important for leaf phloem-loading of iron and plays a key role regulating Fe, Zn, and Cd distribution within the plant. Furthermore, ferric chelate reductase activity analyses provide evidence that iron is not the sole signal transferred from leaves to roots in leaf iron status signaling
Simulation of Flow of Mixtures Through Anisotropic Porous Media using a Lattice Boltzmann Model
We propose a description for transient penetration simulations of miscible
and immiscible fluid mixtures into anisotropic porous media, using the lattice
Boltzmann (LB) method. Our model incorporates hydrodynamic flow, diffusion,
surface tension, and the possibility for global and local viscosity variations
to consider various types of hardening fluids. The miscible mixture consists of
two fluids, one governed by the hydrodynamic equations and one by diffusion
equations. We validate our model on standard problems like Poiseuille flow, the
collision of a drop with an impermeable, hydrophobic interface and the
deformation of the fluid due to surface tension forces. To demonstrate the
applicability to complex geometries, we simulate the invasion process of
mixtures into wood spruce samples.Comment: Submitted to EPJ

Relationship between latent and rebound viruses in a clinical trial of anti-HIV-1 antibody 3BNC117.
A clinical trial was performed to evaluate 3BNC117, a potent anti-HIV-1 antibody, in infected individuals during suppressive antiretroviral therapy and subsequent analytical treatment interruption (ATI). The circulating reservoir was evaluated by quantitative and qualitative viral outgrowth assay (Q2VOA) at entry and after 6 mo. There were no significant quantitative changes in the size of the reservoir before ATI, and the composition of circulating reservoir clones varied in a manner that did not correlate with 3BNC117 sensitivity. 3BNC117 binding site amino acid variants found in rebound viruses preexisted in the latent reservoir. However, only 3 of 217 rebound viruses were identical to 868 latent viruses isolated by Q2VOA and near full-length sequencing. Instead, 63% of the rebound viruses appeared to be recombinants, even in individuals with 3BNC117-resistant reservoir viruses. In conclusion, viruses emerging during ATI in individuals treated with 3BNC117 are not the dominant species found in the circulating latent reservoir, but frequently appear to represent recombinants of latent viruses
Modified gravity and its reconstruction from the universe expansion history
We develop the reconstruction program for the number of modified gravities:
scalar-tensor theory, , and string-inspired, scalar-Gauss-Bonnet
gravity. The known (classical) universe expansion history is used for the
explicit and successful reconstruction of some versions (of special form or
with specific potentials) from all above modified gravities. It is demonstrated
that cosmological sequence of matter dominance, decceleration-acceleration
transition and acceleration era may always emerge as cosmological solutions of
such theory. Moreover, the late-time dark energy FRW universe may have the
approximate or exact CDM form consistent with three years WMAP data.
The principal possibility to extend this reconstruction scheme to include the
radiation dominated era and inflation is briefly mentioned. Finally, it is
indicated how even modified gravity which does not describe the
matter-dominated epoch may have such a solution before acceleration era at the

Performance of crossbred dairy Friesian calves fed two levels of Saccharomyces cerevisiae: Intake, digestion, ruminal fermentation, blood parameters and faecal pathogenic bacteria
11 páginas, 6 tablas.The effect of feeding two levels of Saccharomyces cerevisiae on the performance of crossbred Friesian calves was investigated. Twenty-four neonatal male Friesian × Baladi calves (35·5 ± 0·25 kg of initial body weight) were randomly assigned in a completely randomized design into three experimental groups for 90 days (eight calves per group). Calves fed their diets without yeast (S. cerevisiae) were considered as Control, while the diets of other calves were supplemented daily either with 2·5 g (YL diet) or with 5 g (YH diet) of yeast per calf. Calves fed the YH diet showed increased feed intake, while dry matter and fibre digestibilities were increased in calves fed YH and YL diets. Calves fed YL and YH diets showed lower ruminal ammonia-N and higher total volatile fatty acids, acetate and propionate concentrations than Control calves. Both YH and YL calves showed increased plasma concentrations of total protein, globulin and glucose and decreased cholesterol and triglycerides concentrations. Calves' final weight and daily gain were increased with S. cerevisiae yeast supplemented diets. After 42 days of experiment, Clostridium spp., Escherichia coli and Enterobacteria spp. counts were down to undetectable levels in the faeces of calves fed S. cerevisiae additive. It could be concluded that adding S. cerevisiae to milk-fed calves increased feed utilization and improved pre-weaned calf performance and health status, reducing faecal pathogenic bacteria. Ion Chambers for Monitoring the NuMI Neutrino Beam at FNAL
The Neutrinos at the Main Injector (NuMI) beamline will deliver an intense
muon neutrino beam by focusing a beam of mesons into a long evacuated decay
volume. The beam must be steered with 1 mRad angular accuracy toward the Soudan
Underground Laboratory in northern Minnesota. We have built 4 arrays of
ionization chambers to monitor the neutrino beam direction and quality. The
arrays are located at 4 stations downstream of the decay volume, and measure
the remnant hadron beam and tertiary muons produced along with neutrinos in
meson decays. We review how the monitors will be used to make beam quality
measurements, and as well we review chamber construction details, radiation

Biological activity differences between TGF-β1 and TGF-β3 correlate with differences in the rigidity and arrangement of their component monomers
[Image: see text] TGF-β1, -β2, and -β3 are small, secreted signaling proteins. They share 71–80% sequence identity and signal through the same receptors, yet the isoform-specific null mice have distinctive phenotypes and are inviable. The replacement of the coding sequence of TGF-β1 with TGF-β3 and TGF-β3 with TGF-β1 led to only partial rescue of the mutant phenotypes, suggesting that intrinsic differences between them contribute to the requirement of each in vivo. Here, we investigated whether the previously reported differences in the flexibility of the interfacial helix and arrangement of monomers was responsible for the differences in activity by generating two chimeric proteins in which residues 54–75 in the homodimer interface were swapped. Structural analysis of these using NMR and functional analysis using a dermal fibroblast migration assay showed that swapping the interfacial region swapped both the conformational preferences and activity. Conformational and activity differences were also observed between TGF-β3 and a variant with four helix-stabilizing residues from TGF-β1, suggesting that the observed changes were due to increased helical stability and the altered conformation, as proposed. Surface plasmon resonance analysis showed that TGF-β1, TGF-β3, and variants bound the type II signaling receptor, TβRII, nearly identically, but had small differences in the dissociation rate constant for recruitment of the type I signaling receptor, TβRI. However, the latter did not correlate with conformational preference or activity. Hence, the difference in activity arises from differences in their conformations, not their manner of receptor binding, suggesting that a matrix protein that differentially binds them might determine their distinct activities
Health-related quality of life in patients with sickle cell disease in Saudi Arabia
Background There is a lack of research concerning health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in Saudi patients with sickle cell disease (SCD), particularly among adult populations. The aim of the current study was to describe the characteristics of SCD patients and their impact on their quality of life (QoL). Methods Six hundred twenty-nine adult SCD patients who attended King Fahad Hospital in Hofuf and King Fahad Central Hospital in Jazan were included in the analysis. Demographic/clinical data were collected and an Arabic version of the Medical Outcomes 36-Item Short-Form Health Survey (SF-36) questionnaire was used to assess QoL. Results SCD patients who hold a university degree reported positive impacts on the following domains of SF-36: physical role function, vitality, emotional well being, social function, pain reduction, and general health (P = .002, P = .001, P = .001, P = .003, P = .004, and P = .001, respectively). In general, patients with fever, skin redness, swelling, or history of blood transfusion tended to impair the health status of the SF-36. A multivariate analysis revealed that patients with a university degree tended to report high scores of physical role functions, emotional role function, and vitality. Patients with regular exercise tend to increase vitality, social function, general health, and reduce pain. Unemployment tends to lessen vitality and worsen pain. On average, pain, social function, and physical function scores tended to worsen in patients with swelling or history of blood transfusion. Conclusions This study highlighted that poor education, fever, skin redness, and swelling were negatively associated with specific components of SF-36. SCD patients with a history of blood transfusion found their QoL poorer, whereas regular exercise tended to improve QoL
Nuclear dependence of the transverse single-spin asymmetry in the production of charged hadrons at forward rapidity in polarized , Al, and Au collisions at GeV
We report on the nuclear dependence of transverse single-spin asymmetries
(TSSAs) in the production of positively-charged hadrons in polarized
, Al and Au collisions at
GeV. The measurements have been performed at forward
rapidity () over the range of GeV and
. We observed a positive asymmetry for
positively-charged hadrons in \polpp collisions, and a significantly reduced
asymmetry in + collisions. These results reveal a nuclear
dependence of charged hadron in a regime where perturbative techniques
are relevant. These results provide new opportunities to use \polpA collisions
as a tool to investigate the rich phenomena behind TSSAs in hadronic collisions
