This thesis was aimed at establishing what were the business requirements for a small start-up company in the name of Connect Cooperative. The commissioning body of the thesis is HAMK UAS indirectly doing so on behalf of the Connect Consult start-up which itself generated from the Connect project in which students and staffs of HAMK contributed by running various sub researches and information. From this business requirement a set of technical requirements were being generated with a major restriction placed on the project or research scope limiting the project to the soft-component of the system in accordance to Sun Java’s guide on deployment planning clearly stating the importance on placing boundaries so as to avoid infinite scenarios or situations. The search starts by clearly identifying the adopted organization structure of Connect cooperative and presenting and classifying the proposed start-up’s services. The thesis further goes on to articulate how this organization structure and proposed services could be integrated into an online or virtual portal aimed at various purposes but with a major aim of assisting the start-up deliver value and services to its customers. Information gathering was done verbally by attending various meetings with the start-up’s members and also requesting information from the start-up directly such as their previous research results like the one they did in order to identify their human resources. In order to achieve results of standards, guides were being used so as to give a step by step method used in result achievements with a major use of the Sun java’s enterprise deployment plan –white paper guide. The business requirements were identified as the business constrains and a technical requirement with respect to the project from which the use cases were used representing and designing the system's functions

A fuzzy multi-objective linear programming model is used to analyze the performances of three spans of control designs that are observed in the U.S grain industry. Performance of the grain supply chain increases with amount of control and compromise.Crop Production/Industries,

Analysis of Grain Supply Chain Performance Based on Relative Impact of Channel Coordinator's Objectives on Firm Level Objectives

A fuzzy multi-objective programming model is used to analyze the optimal decisions in a multi-objective grain supply chain in which the firm-level firm goals are conflicting with the channel coordinator's goals. The relative impact of the channel coordinator's goals on performance of the supply chain is determined through a linear weighting method. The study finds that prioritizing the channel coordinator's goals enhances the overall performance of the system.Industrial Organization,

Physicians\u27 Perceptions and Practice Regarding the Prevention of Catheter-Associated Urinary Tract Infections in the ICU

Catheter associated urinary tract infection (CAUTI) incidence continue to rise despite all prevention efforts. The state of Georgia incidence of CAUTI between 2012 and 2013 showed an increase by 350 cases. The challenge is translating CAUTI prevention knowledge into practice by all physicians. The purpose of this correlational study was to improve the epidemiological understanding of CAUTI. Looking at physicians’ perception and practice of CAUTI preventions was necessary. A total of 336 physicians from the state of Georgia completed a 26-item survey. Additionally, a pilot study was conducted on a small sample of participants. The result of the Cronbach alpha for the pilot study analysis of the 26-item survey instrument indicated excellent reliability. The analysis revealed that participants’ frequency of training on proper catheterization and their perception of CAUTI risk factors and effective implementation of CAUTI prevention bundle elements, varied significantly. It also resulted that many of the participants were not knowledgeable of certain important CAUTI prevention elements. Only a few made changes in their practice despite knowledge of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services reimbursement policy. Results of the Pearson’s chi-square test for independence indicated a significant correlation (p \u3c .05) between physicians’ perception and practice of CAUTI prevention elements and CAUTI incidence. The results of this study suggest that current CAUTI prevention practice may be inefficient without the effective implementation of proven bundled element. Improved understanding of CAUTI and its relation to effective implementation of bundled prevention elements may result in improved prevention efforts, decreased morbidity, mortality, and overall healthcare cost

In recent years and even currently, the rule entails focus on both governmental initiatives and corporate voluntary practices with the view to curb industrial pollution in the Douala metropolitan city and its environs including Bonaberi. However, several studies have failed to ascertain the extent to which these initiates and practices have been successful (Alemanji, 2006).
