Cognitive function in normal aging and in older adults with mild cognitive impairment
PENYEBAB TERJADINYA DISPARITAS PIDANA DALAM TINDAK PIDANA PENYALAHGUNAAN NARKOTIKA (Studi Kasus Di Pengadilan Negeri Klas IA Padang)
Treballs Finals de Grau d'Enginyeria Informàtica, Facultat de Matemàtiques, Universitat de Barcelona, Any: 2013, Director: Inmaculada Rodriguez Santiago i Pablo Almajano FrancoyNowadays, due to the increasing use of the Internet and the improvements in the field of 3D graphics virtual worlds have reached a
high popularity. A virtual world is a 3D simulation that features a real or imaginary world where the users, represented by avatars, interact with each other and the environment. These open 3D environments are
attractive for their immersiveness and the enjoyment they offer, as well as for the social aspect that they bring by joining multiple users together in a common environment and engaging them to participate together. Taking into account not only their popularity but the many practical uses a virtual world has, serious virtual worlds arise. Their aim is to regulate the behaviors in the virtual world in order to allow certain tasks to be done, which can be for example procedures related to e-Government or e-Learning. In this project we have conducted a usability study of v-mWater, a serious and hybrid (where both humans and bots interact) virtual world.
With the results that have been obtained from the study, we have implemented the most beneficial improvement of v-mWater, that has
consisted in using AIML to allow the bots of v-mWater to process natural language, turning them into conversational bots
Forecasting machine performance check output using Holt-Winters approach
Background: Machine Performance Check (MPC) is an automated TrueBeam quality control (QC) tool used to verify beam output, isocenter, and uniformity. The aim of this study was to build an MPC output variation time series modeled on the Holt-Winters method over thirty days.
Methods: After AAPM TG-51 and baseline data were established for the Edge TrueBeam, daily MPC output data were gathered and analyzed through a Holt-Winters (additive and multiplicative) method. The model's performance was assessed via three standard error measures: the mean squared error (MSE), the mean absolute percentage error (MAPE), and the mean absolute deviation (MAE). The aim was achieved using a nonlinear multistart solver on the Excel platform.
Results: The results showed that MPC output variation forecasting is energy and model dependent. Both additive and multiplicative Holt-Winters methods were suitable for the analysis. The performance metrics MSE, MAPE, and MAD were found to be well within acceptable limits.
Conclusions: A Holt-Winters model was able to accurately forecast the MPC output variation
Statistical process control: machine performance check output variation
Background: The aim of this study was to illustrate and evaluate the use of different statistical process control (SPC) aspects to examine linear accelerator daily output variation through machine performance check (MPC) over a month.
Methods: MPC daily output data were obtained over a month after AAPM TG-51 were performed. Baseline data were set, and subsequent data were conducted through SPC. The Shewhart chart was used to determine the upper and lower control limits, whereas CUSUM for subtle changes.
Results: The upper and lower control limits obtained via SPC analysis of the MPC data were found to fall within AAPM Task Group 142 guidelines. MPC output variation data were within ±3% of their action limits values and were within 1% over thirty days of data. The process capability ratio and process acceptability ratio, Cp and Cpk values were ≥2 for all energies. Potential undetected deviations were captured by the CUSUM chart for photons and electrons beam energy.
Conclusions: Control charts were found to be useful in terms of detecting changes in MPC output
Including Conversational Agents into Structured Hybrid 3D Virtual Environments
Structured Hybrid 3D Virtual Environments are 3D virtual spaces where staff (organisational) software agents support human users in their task achievement. These systems are characterized by: i) being hybrid, so that humans and software agents can interact; and ii) being structured and task oriented, so that interactions are regulated by a subjacent Organisation Centered Multi Agent System (OCMAS)-an Electronic Institution (EI). The contribution of this paper is to include task-oriented conversational staff bots (i.e. the embodiment of staff agents in the 3D environment) that communicate with users by using natural language. With this aim, we extend the Artificial Intelligence Mark-up Language (AIML) with special tags to enable complex task-oriented conversations whose flow needs to consider both the states of the conversation and the ontology related to the task. We evaluate the usability of our conversational proposal and compare it to a previous command-based interaction system. Results show the conversational approach presents a higher user satisfaction than the command-based one. Moreover, in average, it also performs better in terms of efficiency, effectiveness and errors
Balancing Heritage Preservation and Regeneration in Riyadh: Objectives and Considerations
Heritage regeneration and redevelopment of city centers are essential strategies for long-term sustainability
and resilience. These processes aim to develop heritage assets by transforming them into sustainable cultural
spaces to meet the city's environmental, social, and economic needs. These processes create vibrant,
inclusive, and sustainable urban spaces while maintaining and enhancing the unique character and identity of
the city by triggering city dynamics in response to its rich heritage as an economic development engine and
as a tool to attract new investments and businesses. This paper explores the interaction between heritage
preservation and regeneration, a complex and multifaceted phenomenon that requires thoughtful approaches.
This interplay poses a variety of challenges and opportunities for cities' social, economic, and cultural
dynamics. Using heritage regeneration to redevelop cities, this paper examines the ideas that make heritage
centers a powerful force in developing methods including cultural heritage in urban planning. This paper
limits its scope to Riyadh, a city with a rich cultural heritage and a rapidly evolving urban landscape. It
explains how applying the strategies of heritage regeneration has intensified in many historically significant
neighborhoods and central areas in Riyadh city and provides an insightful demonstration of how heritage
preservation and regeneration are interconnected by offering a holistic representation of what has changed in
Riyadh Heritage Center. This includes understanding heritage considerations and setting clear objectives for
city center development. A balance between heritage regeneration and preservation is also stressed in the
paper. The paper concludes with some results that indicate that establishing a cohesive urban identity
requires a balance between traditional and modern images. In addition, it requires promoting cultural
resources, such as cultural heritage
