Montado’s ecosystem functions and services: the case study of Alentejo Central – Portugal

Although the concept of ecosystem services is well defined and centred on human use of natural systems, it is not yet consensual. The ecosystem services connect ecology and economy; they allow to integrate ecology into policies and to bring a monetary value. Even if the authors do not entirely agree with the idea of giving a monetary value to all elements, living and not living, they consider that the concept of ecosystem services can be improved in the sense of a holistic landscape ecological approach. Montado is a high valuated cultural landscape typical from the Southwest of Iberian Peninsula. It concerns a human-shaped ecosystem composed by a mosaic of scattered cork oaks, holm oaks or mix oaks, with a high grazing diversity. The most important products of Montado are cork and other non-timber products. Nevertheless it’s highly value is on the ecosystem functions it can provide, namely biodiversity conservation, water cycle regulation, carbon sequestration and soil conservation. These ecosystem services are highly interconnected, and have a lot of dependences in a complex structure. So, the first goal of this paper is to identify the main Montado ecosystem services that must be valued in sustainable management and policies, in order to prevent biodiversity losses and other types of ecosystem degradation.ICAAM,CIMAC,CIDEHU

ESTADO, SOCIEDADE E EDUCAÇÃO: ALGUMAS INDAGAÇÕES E REFLEXÕES SOBRE AS POLÍTICAS PÚBLICAS PARA A JUVENTUDE NO BRASIL

As políticas públicas para a juventude no Brasil vêm se desenvolvendo com maior destaque a partir do governo Lula, trazendo em seus documentos o discurso do jovem como o protagonista na constituição e desenvolvimento de uma política nacional. Entendendo a política pública como um campo em disputa que envolve diferentes atores com distintos interesses e que expressa, em muitos casos, a complexa relação Estado, Sociedade e Educação. Ao longo da história, questiona-se o papel da juventude na construção dessa política: Será o jovem o real soberano nas políticas de juventude? A partir de análises bibliográficas e documentais inferiu-se que, se em meio a um discurso de democracia a soberania do povo é negada em prol dos interesses dos dominantes, a juventude, público alvo desta política – jovens pobres, com baixa escolaridade, com condições sociais precárias - fazendo parte das minorias sociais, não se constituem o soberano nas políticas públicas de juventude

Guidelines for the integration of biological and cultural values in a Landscape Interpretation Center: application in southern Portugal

The city of Évora (the Roman Ebora Liberalitas Julia) is the most important town in Alentejo province (Southern Portugal) and is surrounded by a quite rich cultural and biological landscape involving archaeological sites of several epochs, old field networks and farms, as well as specific multifunctional cultural landscapes, the agro-forestry-pastoral systems called montados. Based on previous studies and land surveys, in which where identified the best preserved sectors and marks around Évora concerning the old cadastral systems, ecological corridors networks and the most important montados areas for preservation, it is presented the main guidelines for the development of an interpretation centre for the cultural and biological values in the Évora region. The methodology applies GIS spatial analysis and multilevel approaches and gives the guidelines for the integration of the different cultural and biological values in a holistic approach of landscape. The conceptual model is presented as well as the results obtained for the Évora Region

The Montado Great Route Sustainable tourism: treats and opportunities

Montado landscape is a highly valuated agro-forestry-pastoral system protected by law and integrated in the Portuguese Nacional List for Cultural Landscape World Heritage of UNESCO. It provides important environmental and cultural functions and services. These types of multifunctional landscapes are very attractive for sustainable tourism, like walking,birdwatching and other leisure activities. Alentejo Central is covered by montado landscapes (cork oak and holm oaktrees) in about 50% of its area. In 2016, the Comunidade Intermunicipal do Alentejo Central (CIMAC), decided tu implement a walking path network that connect the main villages and rural landscape and their cultural and natural heritage. lhe Montado Great Route (GRM), is planned for more than 1.000 km and connects natural, scenic, architectural and cultural values that everyone can enjoy walking through the landscape. These paths connect also with the contiguous regions namely to Alto and Baixo Alentejo, Vicentina Coast and Spain

ESCOLAS DA AMAZÔNIA E O MULTICULTURALISMO

O presente artigo embasado na proposta do Programa de Doutoramento da Faculdade de Educação da Universidade Federal do Amazonas faz reflexões quanto ao multiculturalismo, identidade, escola, currículo. Questões como inclusão, racismo, equidade estão no centro do debate geopolítico atual. O principal objetivo é instigar a comunidade escolar, educativa para a leitura a diversos autores aqui referenciados, que listam na temática currículo e cultura, os chamados marcadores identitários. Espera-se que novos leitores, estudiosos do assunto entrem na discussão momentânea. O IDOSO E O MUNDO DO TRABALHO NA SOCIEDADE PÓS-CAPITALISTA

Resumo O presente estudo propõe-se a fazer uma breve reflexão acerca das implicações que ocorrem com as mudanças no mundo do trabalho na vida da população idosa, no contexto da sociedade pós-capitalista. Trata-se de uma revisão teórica realizada a partir de pesquisa bibliográfica sobre a categoria trabalho, suas nuances e seus efeitos na vida do segmento idoso. Este nos permitiu identificar as dificuldades encontradas pelo segmento idoso para sua inserção e/ou manutenção no mercado de trabalho, tendo em vista que no cenário contemporâneo o indivíduo que envelhece tem sua força de trabalho desvalorizada e descartada como mola propulsora de lucro por parte do capital, fato que ocasiona mudanças profundas no cotidiano dessa população

Efémero brutalismo: o caso do ISCTE (1976-2016). Sines - Indústria e estrutura portuária: residências para investigadores

O presente trabalho pretende compreender a dimensão que a Arquitetura Brutalista adquiriu a nível internacional, mais concretamente em Inglaterra através dos arquitetos Alison e Peter Smithson e no Brasil, com a arquitetura de João Vilanova Artigas e Lina Bo Bardi; bem como a importância que esta corrente arquitetónica alcançou em Portugal, procedendo-se à análise de três casos de estudo: Igreja do Sagrado Coração de Jesus, Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Conceição e Sede da Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian.Mais aprofundadamente é estudado um último edifício que consiste no primeiro edifício do campus universitário do ISCTE-IUL, ISCTE I (1976-1978). Procedendo-se à análise do edifício desde 1976 até 2016, procura-se entender a importância da preservação dos edifícios brutalistas, bem como revelar as alterações que foram feitas ao edifício. Pretende-se compreender de que forma as medidas de preservação aos edifícios brutalistas procuram manter a verdade plástica e construtiva dos mesmos, ou se as alterações que se verificam alteram profundamente o seu caráter expressivo.This study aims to understand the dimension that the brutalist architecture acquired internationally, specifically in England through the work of Alison and Peter Smithson and in Brazil, through the architecture of João Vilanova Artigas and Lina Bo Bardi; as well as the importance that this architectural movment reached in Portugal, proceeding to the analysis of three case studies: Igreja do Sagrado Coração de Jesus, Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Conceição and the Headquarters of Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian. One last building is alanysed: the first building on the campus of ISCTE, ISCTE I (1976-1978). Proceeding to the analysis of the building from 1976 to 2016, this study aims to understand the importance of the preservation of the Brutalist buildings and reveal the changes that were made to the building. It trys to understand how the conservation measures applied to Brutalist buildings keep the plastic and constructive truth od the buildings, or if the changes deep change their expressive character

PERCEPÇÃO DE DISCENTES, DOCENTES E TRABALHADORAS SOBRE O PROCESSO DE TRABALHO DA ENFERMEIRA

Objetivo: analisar a percepção de discentes, docentes e trabalhadoras sobre o processo de trabalho da enfermeira. Método: pesquisa exploratória, com abordagem qualitativa. Os sujeitos foram discentes, docentes e enfermeiras. Os dados foram coletados por meio de entrevista semiestruturada, organizados em quadros, classificados conforme as categorias do processo de trabalho da enfermeira e analisados à luz do referencial teórico marxista sobre o processo de trabalho em saúde/enfermagem. Resultados: as participantes conceberam o processo de trabalho da enfermeira de maneira fragmentada, não reconheceram sua natureza indissociavelmente assistencial-gerencial e consideraram o trabalho gerencial da enfermeira como um obstáculo. Conclusão: não há diferenças na percepção de discentes, docentes e trabalhadoras sobre o processo de trabalho da enfermeira.Descritores: Trabalho. Enfermeira. Estudante de Enfermagem.
