    Tujuan dalam penelitian untuk mengetahui peran guru dan pembina dalam menanamkan nilai keislaman santri di Madrasah Aliyah No. 1 Atapange Kab Wajo, untuk mengetahui faktor penghamabat dan pendukung guru dan pembina dalam menanamkan nilai keislaman santri di Madrasah Aliyah No. 1 Atapange Kab Wajo, dan untuk mengetahui upaya-upaya yang dilakukan guru dan pembina dalam menanamkan nilai keilaman santri di Madrasah Aliyah No. 1 Atapange Kab Wajo. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil Penelitian yaitu: 1) Peran guru dan pembina dalam menanamkan nilai keislaman santri. Peran guru memberikan contoh yang baik atau akhlak yang mulia, serta senantiasa memberikan motivasi, dan bekerja sama dengan orang tua santri. Peran pembina yakni santri yang tinggal di asrama mendapatkan pembelajaran tambahan dan berbagai kegiatan-kegiatan keislaman, serta keberadaan pembina sebagai orang tua ke dua dalam menanamkan nilai keislaman santri. 2) Faktor pendukung dan penghambat guru dan pembina dalam menanamkan nilai keislaman santri di Madrasah Aliyah No. 1 Atapange Kab Wajo Faktor pendukung yaitu dengan adanya ilmu tekhnologi, dorongan dari dewan guru dan fasilitas madrasah. santri untuk senantiasa menanamkan nilai keislaman, faktor penghambat guru adalah pengaruh negative dari luar lingkungan sekolah yakni faktor keluarga, faktor lingkungan dan faktor masyarakat. faktor pendukung pembina adalah Faktor internal dan faktor eksternal. Faktor penghambat pembina yaitu kurangnya kerja sama antar orang tua santri dengan pembina, kurangnya semangat bekerja dan motivasi belajar. 3) Upaya guru dalam menanamkan nilai keislaman santri yaitu pembiasaan, metode ceramah, pemberian motivasi, sedangkan upaya pembina dalam menanamkan nilai keislaman santri yaitu menanamkan nilai keislaman melalui keteladanan, memberikan motivasi, bekerja sama dengan masyarakat.Kata Kunci: Guru; Pembina; Menanamkan Nilai Keislama

It focused on the concepts of quality and quality assurance, quality assurance guidelines in the Nigerian university system and strategies adopted by the NUC, for achieving compliance with the quality assurance guidelines. The paper also highlighted the challenges hindering the effective achievement of compliance with the quality assurance guidelines and offered recommendations for improvement

    Kecerdasan sosial sangat dibutuhkan siswa dalam aktivitas belajar untuk mencapai prestasi belajar yang optimal, mengingat terdapat berbagai aktivitas belajar yang mengharuskan siswa berinteraksi dengan orang lain. Tulisan ini mengkaji tentang layanan bimbingan dan konseling belajar dalam membantu siswa memiliki kecerdasan sosial yang dapat berkontribusi pada pencapaian prestasi belajar. Melalui layanan bimbingan dan konseling belajar siswa memperoleh bantuan dalam mengembangkan kecerdasan sosial yang dibutuhkannya dalam belajar, seperti: (a) empati: kemampuan memahami penyampaian orang lain, kemampuan memahami perasaan orang lain, kemampuan merasakan isyarat-isyarat non verbal, seperti sedih, kecewa, marah, kesal, dan lainnya (b) penyelarasan: kemampuan mendengarkan dengan terbuka dan memahami penyampaian orang lain, kemampuan menghargai pendapat orang lain, (c) ketepatan empatik: kemampuan memahami pikiran dan perasaan orang lain, (d) pengertian sosial: kemampuan menyelesaikan masalah belajar dalam kelompok, keterampilan belajar kelompok atau menyelesaikan tugas kelompok, (e) sinkronisai: keterampilan berkomunikasi non verbal, (f) presentasi: kemampuan menampilkan diri secara efektif ketika berinteraksi dengan orang lain, kemampuan memberi dan menerima kritikan, (g) pengaruh: kemampuan memberikan pengaruh kepada orang dengan menggunakan kemampuan berbicara dengan hati-hati serta mampu mengendalikan diri, dan (h) kepedulian: peduli terhadap kebutuhan belajar orang lain. Kepemilikan kecerdasan sosial oleh setiap siswa membuat mereka akan melakukan aktivitas belajarnya secara optimal, yang akan berdampak pada pencapaian prestasi belajar yang optimal pula

    Landholders’ Involvement in the Compulsory Acquisition of Land and Compensation Process in Bauchi, Nigeria

    This study aims to assess landholder’s involvement in the compulsory acquisition of land on their satisfaction with the compensation process in Bauchi, Nigeria, to identify areas of weakness in the process and propose areas of improvement. The study adopted the use of a quantitative approach and data were collected through a questionnaire survey from 327 landholders affected by the compulsory acquisition and compensation exercise by the Bauchi State Government. The data collected were subjected to descriptive with mean ranking, frequency distribution. The study revealed that before the process of compulsory acquisition landholders were very well involved, during the process of compulsory acquisition they were also involved but at the compensation process, they were not involved at all. It recommended that Landholders should be involved not only in the process of compulsory acquisition but they should be involved in the process of compensation as it will minimize resistance to compulsory

    Pengaruh Bimbingan Kelompok Teknik Written terhadap Kecerdasan Naturalis Siswa

    As a reality, the vast majority of students, in particular, those at elementary school have yet to have awareness of the importance of nature preservation. This constitutes an indication of low naturalist intelligence of elementary school students. As an effort to cope with the problem, it requires solution, namely written technique group guidance. The problem of this research is whether or not written technique group guidance has an influence towards naturalist intelligence of elementary school students. The research uses a pre-experiment method with one group pretest and posttest design. The research samples are 15 people. The data collection uses questionnaire as the main technique. The data are analyzed by using t-test. Based on the research finding, it concludes that there is an influence of written technique group guidance towards naturalist intelligence of students at grade V of SDN No. 85 Kota Tengah of Gorontalo City. This conclusion is obtained from result of data analysis, which indicating value of tcount = -20,598, and at significance level of 0,05 (14), it obtains ttable = 2,98, which meant the tcount has been outside of acceptance area of H0. This means that the hypothesis which says, “there is influence of written technique group guidance towards naturalist intelligence of students at grade V of SDN 85 Kota Tengah of Gorontalo City, can be accepted. In other words, the written technique group guidance can increase the naturalist intelligence of students at grade V of SDN No.85 Kota Tengah of Gorontalo City. Based on the research finding, it is suggested that the guidance and counseling teachers should apply written technique group guidance as an effort to improve the naturalist intelligence of elementary school students

    Efficacy of Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT) on Depression among Secondary School Going Adolescents in Yobe Islamic Centre Damaturu, Yobe State, Nigeria

    The study examined the efficacy of rational emotive behaviour therapy on depression among secondary school going adolescents in Yobe Islamic Centre Damaturu, Yobe State, Nigeria. Quasi-experimental research design was used in the study. Purposive sampling technique was used to select 30 students for the study. The sample participants consist of 15 male and 15 female students. Becks Depression Inventory (BDI) was administered to assess depression before and after the intervention with .85 reliability co-efficient. REBT was employed as the treatment to the experimental group. T-test statistical tool was used to test the 3 hypotheses formulated. The result revealed that REBT was significantly effective on the management of depression%253B difference in the management of depression was significant to Gender but not for age. In view of these findings, the study recommended that students should be trained on the effective usage of this intervention (REBT), Experts in educational Counseling%252FEducational psychologists should intensify their effort to organize seminars%252Fconferences on the implications of this intervention

    Biodiesel production from oleic acid and palm fatty acid distillate/ oleic acid using sulfonated carbon

    Biodiesel has been globally accepted as a substitute to diesel fuel, and is an ongoing subject for research. It is a fuel obtained from renewable sources such as vegetable oils, animal fat, and algal oil. Biodiesel is non- toxic, biodegradable, inflammable, and has a good combustion emission profile. Recently, the application of edible sources in the production of biodiesel has caused a lot of debate due the insecurity on food. Hence, the use of inedible and industrial waste sources such as palm fatty acid distillate (PFAD) and oleic acid (OA). Although, they could be the answer to a more economic biodiesel production due to their availability and low cost, their high free fatty acid (FFA) content causes biodiesel production to be expensive when homogeneous catalysts are used. Hence, the need for a heterogeneous acid catalyst, which is the most economically viable catalyst in the production of biodiesel from low cost feedstocks. In this work, the production of biodiesel (FAME) from oleic acid and PFAD/oleic acid mixed feed using a sulfonated carbon catalyst derived from glycerol was investigated. The synthesized catalyst was characterized using FTIR, BET, FESEM, XRD and TPDNH3 to determine its catalytic activity. Simultaneous esterification/ transesterification of oleic acid, and PFAD/oleic acid mixed feed were carried out using the synthesized catalyst. In addition, Response Surface Methodology (RSM) using Box-Behnken Design was used in optimization of the process variables to study the influence of molar ratio of methanol to oleic acid, and PFAD/Oleic acid mixed feed, catalyst loading and reaction time on the conversion and yield of FAME. For oleic acid conversion and yield, 99% and 97% were obtained respectively. While 98%, 94% and 96% were obtained as PFAD/oleic acid conversion, methyl oleate yield and methyl palmitate respectively

    Isolation and characterization of a fatty acid from the seed extracts of citrullus lanatus (water melon)

    A sample of powdered watermelon seeds sample was macerated with ethanol for two weeks using a maceration method. The mixture was stirred using magnetic stirrer, for 24 hours, in order to extract the powders. It was then decanted, filtered and concentrated on a rotavapor (R110) at 40 ºC in order to obtain the crude ethanol extract (F001). The crude ethanol extract was partitioned into aqueous methanol, chloroform, ethyl acetate and acetone in order to obtain F002, F003, F004 and F005 fractions respectively. The methanol fraction indicated strong activity in the antimicrobial test compared to other fractions. Based on these results, the methanol fraction was subjected to activity-guided chromatographic purification targeting the compound responsible for the observed activity. The methanol fraction (10 g) of the extracted seeds of Citrullus lanatus was chromatographed on a silica gel column, using different eluents. This afforded 117 fractions which were combined based on their thin layer chromatography (TLC) pattern. The pooled fraction (-62 – 67-) was further chromatographed in order to obtain the fatty acid. The structure of the compound was characterized – using,- Proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR), Carbon-13 nuclear magnetic resonance (13C NMR), Distortionless enhancement bypolarization transfer (DEPT), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) spectroscopic techniques and Mass spectrometry (MS) analysis in order to propose the structure of the compound as a straight chain aliphatic dicarboxylic acid (3-methylnonadec-4,6-diene1,19-dioic acid)

    Self-Efficacy, Motivation and Academic Performance of Senior Secondary School Students in Damaturu, Metropolis, Yobe State Nigeria

    This study examined the teachers self-efficacy, motivation and academic performance of senior secondary school students in Damaturu, Metropolis, Yobe State Nigeria. Two research hypotheses were raised and tasted. The study adopted a correlation research design. The study has the total population of 2,998 teachers spread across the 9 secondary schools in Damaturu Metropolis. A sample of 250 teachers were selected from six (6) senior secondary Schools in Damaturu Metropolis by using multistage sampling techniques. The study used two instruments for data collection%253A The teachers sense of efficacy scale and Students termly academic results. The internal consistency of the items was established to be 0.94 using Cronbach Alpha Statistical Method. Data Collected were analyzed using Pearson Product Moment Correlation at lt%253B0.05 level of significance. The results of the study indicated that, teachers self-efficacy was found to have significant positive influence on academic performance of students. Similarly, teachers motivation is significantly related with students academic performance of students. The researchers concluded that proper training and work on motivation of the teachers towards the teaching should be improved. As such, the study recommended that, government should enhance professional training for teachers welfare and teachers educational programmes to develop a sense self-efficacy and motivation for teachers

    Mental fatigue does not affect static balance under both single and dual task conditions in young adults

    The ability to control balance and prevent falls while carrying out daily life activities may require a predominantly controlled (cognitive) or automatic processing depending on the balance challenge, age, or other factors. Consequently, this process may be affected by mental fatigue which has been shown to impair cognitive abilities. Controlling static balance in young adults is a relatively easy task that may proceed automatically with minimal cognitive input making it insusceptible to mental fatigue. To investigate this hypothesis, static single and dual task (while concurrently counting backward by seven) balance was assessed in 60 young adults (25.2 ± 2.4 years) before and after 45 min of Stroop task (mental fatigue condition) and watching documentary (control), presented in a randomized counterbalanced order on separate days. Moreover, because mental fatigue can occur due to task underload or overload, participants carried out two different Stroop tasks (i.e., all congruent, and mainly incongruent trials) on separate days in the mental fatigue condition. Results of the study revealed a significantly higher feeling of mental fatigue after the mental fatigue conditions compared to control (p 0.05) indicating lack of effect of mental fatigue on static balance in this population. Therefore, future studies investigating this phenomenon in occupational or sport settings in similar population should consider using more challenging balance tasks. © 2023, The Author(s)
