Study of the preparation process and variation of wall components in chia (Salvia hispanica L.) oil microencapsulation
A study of the microencapsulation process of omega-3 rich oil extracted from chia (Salvia hispanica L.) seeds was carried out, which included a comparative analysis of the microcapsules obtained by the spray- and freeze-drying methods using isolated soy proteins and maltodextrin as wall materials at different proportions. Color characterization of the obtained powders was performed and revealed a darker and yellower appearance of the freeze-dried samples compared with the spray-dried ones. Moisture content was measured for each sample and all presented values around 3.5%. The SEM micrographs revealed that spray-dried microcapsules can occur individually or may form clusters or aggregates, with the particles exhibiting a size range varying from 4 to 10 µm. Encapsulation efficiency was measured, with no significant differences found between drying methods or on varying the proportion of wall components (all samples presented values of aproximately 60%). The oxidative stability of microencapsulated oils under accelerated oxidative conditions revealed protection factors 2-fold higher for all samples. In addition, microencapsulated oil stored under 25 ºC revealed lower hydroperoxide values than those of unencapsulated oil throughout the whole storage test. Finally, oil encapsulated in SPI microcapsules also showed lower HPV values than that of the acceptable limit for virgin and cold-pressed vegetable oils (15 meq. O2/kg oil) during the storage test, while unencapsulated oil attained the acceptable limit in 62 days. This result represents an increase in the time of the oil shelf life of between 30 and 48%.Fil: González, Agustín. Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas. The Perennial Threat of Yellow Fever
Despite the availability of a safe and effective vaccine, yellow fever remains a major vaccine-preventable disease in endemic regions. Additionally, travelers risk acquiring yellow fever when visiting areas of endemic transmission or locations with ongoing outbreaks. Yellow fever is a viral hemorrhagic fever that has inflicted stigma, illness, and death among human societies. From the 17th to the 19th centuries, yellow fever remained a mysterious illness that predominantly affected tropical regions in Africa, the Caribbean and the Americas. The disease was as feared as cholera or smallpox, and played a significant geopolitical role in shaping modern societies. Epidemics of yellow fever brought out the best and the worst of human nature: the disease spread to new regions during the Atlantic slave trade; while the identification of its causative viral agent and mode of transmission, as well as the development of a vaccine, were made possible by the sacrifice of selfless scientists. Confirmation of the vector transmission of YF paved the way for the development of an effective vaccine in the first half of the 20th century. Encroachment of human settlements into locations with sylvatic transmission has blurred the distinction between the urban and sylvatic cycles. Introduction or expansion of routine immunization activities and reaching hard-to-reach populations consitute public health priorities toward ensuring vaccine equity in endemic areas. It is also critical to ensure the timely immunization of at-risk populations during outbreaks and to promote vaccination of international travelers. We conclude that the threat of YF will linger far into the 21st century as a leading public health emergency of global concern under the International Health Regulations
Clinical Symptoms Contributing to Zenker\u27s Diverticulum Repair: A Retrospective Review
Objective: Zenker\u27s diverticulum (ZD) is usually associated with dysphagia and other symptoms due to the interrelated functions of several systems. Surgical management of ZD is effective for all sizes of diverticula, but not all patients decide to undergo surgery. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between clinical presentation and patients\u27 decision to undergo surgical repair.
Subjects and methods: This is a retrospective study including 165 patients with ZD treated over the last 11 years. Data collection includes patients\u27 chief complaints and symptoms, medical history, findings on radiologic swallow evaluations, and patients\u27 decision to undergo surgery. Pearson correlation and logistic regression analysis were performed.
Results: Among our cohort, dysphagia was the most prevalent symptom (89.1%), followed by cough (65.5%) and regurgitation (58.8%). Dysphonia was prevalent among patients with a small-sized ZD. Our logistic regression model showed that patients\u27 decision to undergo surgical repair could be predicted by diverticula size (β=1.10, p=0.002) and the presence of dysphagia (β=1.91, p=0.005), cough (β=1.01, p=0.042), and dysphonia (β=-1.37, p=0.024).
Conclusion: Patients\u27 decision to undergo surgery usually involves interrelated factors, including symptomatic burden, presence of comorbidities, and recommendation of the surgeon. This study has identified that diverticula size and the presence of dysphagia, cough, and dysphonia are significant factors influencing decision-making for surgical repair in patients with ZD
The present research work was focused on designing the management indicators

Engineering, for this the need to create a structure was taken into account of
information that considers an evaluation by competences, each competition was
created variables and each variable indicators that allowed the qualification to be
obtained from six different sources all focused on each competition with the
corresponding indicators. The purpose of the evaluation is to generate a global
valuation of the work activity in a defined period, said score generates four value
scales, for this the average and the deviations (plus a deviation and less a deviation)
will be determined and then they qualify Employees such as Excellent (greater than
or equal to more than one deviation), Good (greater than or equal to the average
and less than more than one deviation), Regular (greater than or equal to less than
one deviation and less than the average) and Deficient (less than less a deviation),
allowing the organization to apply merit policies objectively based on absolute real
values.
The Performance evaluation process requires an objectivity that must be transferred
from a set of opinions with different criteria, generally associated with a qualification
regarding the scope of generic competencies established in the business policy. To
achieve this objective, the competencies and indicators that measure each of them
were defined, capturing the information from defined sources such as customers,
peers, bosses, collaborators and corresponding offices, being able to objectively
establish said evaluation giving it a security and sincerity characteristic in the act,
as well as innovation. Of the personnel evaluated, 52% are within the acceptable
range, which indicates to the company that 48% of the workers must be trained to
improve the skills that the organization has determined. In the Results Orientation,
Flexibility and Responsibility competitions the best performance was obtained being
at the acceptable level 52, 54 and 56 percent respectively and in the Innovation
competition it reached the acceptable level at 50%. The teamwork competition is
the one that obtained the lowest percentage in the acceptable range.Tesi
Giant Gastroduodenal Duplication Cyst with Juxta-Pancreatic Communication
Enteric duplication cysts are rare congenital malformations with a low incidence and there are only a few reports in the literature. Their clinical presentation varies according to the location and the type of duplication. T heir overall prognosis is good if early surgical intervention is provided. We report a 2-month-old boy who presented with a case of a giant gastroduodenal duplication cyst with a juxta-pancreatic communication and was successfully treated surgically. It is imperative to be aware of this rare congenital malformation that can present clinically with a wide range of non-specific symptoms that can cause significant morbidity and mortality if the treatment is delayed

The purpose of this study is to contribute to the investigation of people with drug addiction problems and who until now have not been able to be treated due to the absence of formal equipment that does not cover the large demand in the area. People with this problem, need an optimal environment that allows them to have a good treatment to not fall back on their addiction. For this reason, it is proposed to design a care center for people dependent on psychoactive substances; with the purpose of defining to what extent the use of neuroarchitecture principles determines the approach of this architectural project.
To achieve this, multiple related studies and thesis on the variable are analyzed, to collect the corresponding information on the principles of neuroarchitecture and determine the dimensions, sub- dimensions and indicators that can be applied in different architectural cases through a table of Variable operation. From this, the influence of the variable on the architectural facts is checked and the design guidelines are developed so that they can finally be applied on the project to be developed.
The project will be located in the province of Trujillo, as it is considered as one of the places with the highest consumption of drugs such as drugs and alcohol. Here, three possible lands were analyzed by means of a weighting chart, giving different scores according to their endogenous and exogenous characteristics, resulting in a land with a higher score being chosen as the ideal place for the center.
Finally, the design of this seeks to serve as an object of study for future projects of this nature, both in studies of people dependent on psychoactive substances and in the principles of neuroarchitecture and the relationship of both
