    Two-phase RTD-CMOS pipelined circuits

    Get PDF
MOnostable-BIstable Logic Element (MOBILE) networks can be operated in a gate-level pipelined fashion (nanopipeline) allowing high through output. Resonant tunneling diode (RTD)-based MOBILE nanopipelined circuits have been reported using different clock schemes including a four-phase strategy and a single-phase clock scheme. In particular, significant power advantages of single-phase RTD-CMOS MOBILE circuits over pure CMOS have been shown. This letter compares the RTD-CMOS realizations using a single clock and a novel two-phase clock solution. Significant superior robustness and performance in terms of power and area are obtained for the two-phase implementations

Computing coset leaders and leader codewords of binary codes

In this paper we use the Gr\"obner representation of a binary linear code C\mathcal C to give efficient algorithms for computing the whole set of coset leaders, denoted by CL(C)\mathrm{CL}(\mathcal C) and the set of leader codewords, denoted by L(C)\mathrm L(\mathcal C). The first algorithm could be adapted to provide not only the Newton and the covering radius of C\mathcal C but also to determine the coset leader weight distribution. Moreover, providing the set of leader codewords we have a test-set for decoding by a gradient-like decoding algorithm. Another contribution of this article is the relation stablished between zero neighbours and leader codewords

Organic vs Conventional Suckling Lamb Production: Product Quality and Consumer Acceptance

    Get PDF
Samples of suckling lambs (n=40) of two breeds reared under conventional and organic conditions were analysed to asses physico-chemical characteristics, including instrumental texture, and nutritional quality in terms of fatty acid composition. Consumer acceptance was also studied using the home-use test. Results revealed that organic suckling lamb meat is healthier as shown by the lower saturated fatty acid levels, the higher polyunsaturated fatty acid contents and the higher 6/3 ratiko. The organic meat had lower instrumental hardness, received higher scores in all sensory parameters, and had statistically better fat sensation and higher ratings for overall liking. These results lend support to the notion among consumers that organic products are healthier and tastier

Consumer Appreciation of Carcass Quality of Organic vs Conventional Suckling Lamb Production

Carcass characteristics of sucking lambs (n= 40) of two breeds reared under conventional and organic conditions were analysed including objective and subjective parameters for fatness and conformation, meat and fat colour. Consumer acceptance was also studied using the home-use test. Results showed that the characteristics of the carcass of suckling lamb were similar for both types of production systems pointing out that organic production system did not affect fatness or muscle development. However, organic meat was darker (higher L* and a* values) probably related with the higher amount of exercise, although fat was not more yellow. In contrast consumers did not consider organic meat darker and there were not significant differences in appearance related with the similar conformation. These results reflect that consumer perceive organic meat as at least as good as conventional production not only regarding environmental quality but also regarding carcass quality

Some perspective sustainability on some scanned rural and active tourism: the case of the region extremeña

[Abstract] Currently, sustainability is imposed environmental degradation that are suffering all rural and nature areas, particularly in those areas susceptible to leisure-tourist implementation that still have not been incorporating these sectors. Therefore, in this article the needs and challenges facing rural tourism and active tourism planning in areas with underused yet arise, and is intended to define more clearly the priority sustainable approaches that are required in these wilderness areas or underexploited. To this end, we selected a case-specific Rural and active recreation in the region of Extremadura, in order to realize the basic guidelines that requires sustainable planning in these cars through political, economic and social structures of the sectors involved there.[Resumen] Algunas perspectivas de sostenibilidad en el turismo rural y activo poco explorado: el caso de la región extremeña.
