Divorce risk factors and their variation over time in Spain

The aim of this article is to analyse the determinants of marriage dissolution in Spain and their variation over time for women married between 1949 and 2006. Data are drawn from the Survey of Fertility, Family and Values of 2006. The article analyses the transition from first marriage to marital dissolution for couples who married in two eras: one prior to the Divorce Law of 1981, during which social and legal barriers to dissolution were many, and one in the period after the law was introduced, during which barriers to marriage dissolution were far fewer. Analyses are conducted using a continuous time event history model. The results indicate some similarities between Spain and other countries, such as the positive relationship between the typical features of unconventional families and marital dissolution, but also some specific differences, such as an increase in the importance of premarital pregnancy and/or not having children. Hércules Seghers y el Romanticismo Alemán

Estudio técnico-material de una selección de la obra del autor Hércules Seghers, del cual se ofrece una pequeña retrospectiva sobre su vida, así como de su estilo artístico y la situación política de la época en la que vivía. El objetivo es demostrar que la obra de Seghers tiene una gran influencia sobre el Romanticismo alemán; concretamente, en David Caspar Friedrich y su obra. Para ello se ha seguido una metodología de estudio e investigación, recopilando todos los datos posibles sobre la obra de Seghers. Se ha realizado la traducción del catálogo editado por el Rijk Museum, así como una selección de la amplia obra del autor en la cual se recopilan las características más significativas de la misma. Del mismo modo se presenta una pequeña introducción al Romanticismo alemán como movimiento artístico, así como un resumen acerca de Friedrich y su obra. La motivación del presente estudio es tanto el interés técnico-material de su obra, como su interés iconográfico. Se presenta a Seghers como un posible antecedente de uno de los mayores movimientos artísticos de todos los tiempos, siendo este un hecho que se desconoce y del que apenas se encuentra información. Por esta razón, establecer una relación entre la obra de Seghers y la de Friedrich puede resultar un campo desconocido y, a la vez, de gran interés para la Historia del Arte.Universidad de Sevilla. Los efectos de la terminación de la ultraactividad en el nuevo artículo 86.3 del Estatuto de los Trabajadores. Comentario a la sentencia del Tribunal Superior del País Vasco de 26 de noviembre de 2013

En el presente estudio se analiza la sentencia del Tribunal Superior de Justicia del País Vasco de 26 de noviembre de 2013, una de las primeras sentencias en que un tribunal aplica la nueva regulación del artículo 86.3 ET. En esta sentencia, el Tribunal Superior de Justicia entiende que el convenio colectivo de ámbito superior es aplicable en relación con las materias en él reguladas. En relación con las materias no incluidas en dicho convenio, entiende el tribunal que el convenio colectivo denunciado y concluida la duración pactada se mantiene en ultraactividad en tanto duren las negociaciones.This paper analyzes the decision of the High Court of Justice of the Basque Country of November 26, 2013. This is one of the first decisions in which a court applies the new regulations of section 86.3 of the Worker's Statute. In this decision, the High Court of Justice considers that the higher-level collective bargaining agreement is applicable to those labor conditions regulated. Una aproximación a la problemática de la representación colectiva de los trabajadores de las plataformas "colaborativas" y en entornos virtuales

Artículo elaborado en el marco del proyecto de investigación "La representación laboral en las empresas dispersas y en red: problemática, disfunciones y propuestas correctoras"Artículo que destaca los principales problemas que presenta el actual marco normativo de la representación de los trabajadores en su aplicación a los nuevos modelos de negocio articulados a través plataformas digitales en el que los trabajadores se deslocalizan del centro de trabajo (las denominada plataformas colaborativas). Para evitar tales disfunciones se propone aplicar, siquiera sea analógicamente, la normativa aplicable al trabajo a distancia, dotar de mayor capacidad a la negociación colectiva para definir el ámbito de constitución de los órganos de representación unitaria y potenciar los derechos de información sindical en este tipo de empresas.This paper highlights the main problems presented by the current regulatory framework for worker representation in its application to new business models articulated through digital platforms in which workers relocate from the workplace (app-based companies). The work proposes to apply, at least in analogy, the rules applicable to distance work, to increase the capacity of collective bargaining to define the scope for setting up unitary representation bodies and to strengthen trade union information rights in this type of company

What is the importance of sperm subpopulations?

.The study of sperm subpopulations spans three decades. The origin, meaning, and practical significance, however, are less clear. Current technology for assessing sperm morphology (CASA-Morph) and motility (CASA-Mot) has enabled the accurate evaluation of these features, and there are many options for data classification. Subpopulations could occur as a result of the stage of development of each spermatozoon in the subpopulation. Spermatogenesis might contribute to the production of these subpopulations. Insights from evolutionary biology and recent molecular research are indicative of the diversity among male gametes that could occur from unequal sharing of transcripts and other elements through cytoplasmic bridges between spermatids. Sperm cohorts exiting the gonads would contain different RNA and protein contents, affecting the spermatozoon physiology and associations with the surrounding environmental milieu. Subsequently, these differences could affect how spermatozoa interact with the environmental milieu (maturation, mixing with seminal plasma, and interacting with the environmental milieu, or female genital tract and female gamete). The emergence of sperm subpopulations as an outcome of evolution, related to the reproductive strategies of the species, genital tract structures, and copulatory and fertilization processes. This kind of approach in determining the importance of sperm subpopulations in fertilization capacity should have a practical impact for conducting reproductive technologies, inspiring and enabling new ways for the more efficient use of spermatozoa in the medical, animal breeding, and conservation fields.
