Extragalactic line surveys
40 years have passed since the first molecular detection outside our Galaxy.
Since then, our knowledge on the distribution, kinematics and composition of
the molecular material in the extragalactic ISM has built up significantly
based not only on the carbon monoxide observations but also in the more than 50
molecular species detected. In particular, line surveys have been proven to be
excellent tools to study the chemical composition in the nuclei of galaxies.
Such studies have been favored by the increasing instantaneous bandwidth of
current mm and sub-mm facilities. Here I will summarize the highlights of
extragalactic molecular spectroscopy, mostly focusing in the results from
molecular line surveys published in the last few years as well as the aims of
still ongoing projects.Comment: 9 pages, 2 figures, in Proceedings of the 280th Symposium of the

Proposed Methodology to Evaluate CO2 Capture Using Construction and DemolitionWaste
Since the Industrial Revolution, levels of CO2 in the atmosphere have been constantly
growing, producing an increase in the average global temperature. One of the options for Carbon
Capture and Storage is mineral carbonation. The results of this process of fixing are the safest in
the long term, but the main obstacle for mineral carbonation is the ability to do it economically in
terms of both money and energy cost. The present study outlines a methodological sequence to
evaluate the possibility for the carbonation of ceramic construction waste (brick, concrete, tiles) under
surface conditions for a short period of time. The proposed methodology includes a pre-selection of
samples using the characterization of chemical and mineralogical conditions and in situ carbonation.
The second part of the methodology is the carbonation tests in samples selected at 10 and 1 bar
of pressure. The relative humidity during the reaction was 20 wt %, and the reaction time ranged
from 24 h to 30 days. To show the e ectiveness of the proposed methodology, Ca-rich bricks were
used, which are rich in silicates of calcium or magnesium. The results of this study showed that
calcite formation is associated with the partial destruction of Ca silicates, and that carbonation was
proportional to reaction time. The calculated capture e ciency was proportional to the reaction time,
whereas carbonation did not seem to significantly depend on particle size in the studied conditions.
The studies obtained at a low pressure for the total sample were very similar to those obtained for
finer fractions at 10 bars. Presented results highlight the utility of the proposed methodology
None of Madrid major newspapers was able to even perceive intuitively in their editions of April 14, 1931 that on the same day the Second Republic would be proclaimed in Spain. Here we have the most amazing finding of the research to which this article refers to, which analyzes the editorial positions held by the seven newspapers of widest distribution (three monarchists and four republicans) since Primo de Rivera´s resignation in January 1930 to the fall of Alfonso XIII.Ninguno de los grandes diarios de Madrid fue capaz de intuir siquiera en sus ediciones del 14 de abril de 1931 que ese mismo día sería proclamada la Segunda República en España.
The discourse of the main royalist newspaper facing the elections that brought the Second Republic. Coincidences and inconsistences
On April 12, 1931 municipal elections took place in Spain and precipitated the proclamation of the Second Republic only forty-eight hours later. The three main royalist newspapers published in Madrid in those days previously acknowledged the plebiscitary character of the consultation. But not all of them maintained an editorial consistency after the success of the anti-dynastic candidacies. This research work goes deep into the messages released by ABC, El Debate and Ahora before and after the elections, and reveals the contradictions incurred by the first two at a turning point in recent Spanish history
