Lower threshold ground state energy and testability of minimal balanced cut density
Lov\'asz and his coauthors defined the notion of microcanonical ground state
energy -- borrowed from the statistical
physics -- for weighted graphs , where is a probability
distribution on and is a symmetric matrix with
real entries. We define a new version of the ground state energy,
, called lower threshold ground state energy, where . Both types of energies can be extended for
graphons , the limit objects of convergent sequences of simple graphs. In
the main result of the paper it is stated that if , then
the convergence of the sequences for each
implies convergence of the sequences
for each . As a byproduct one can derive in a natural way the testability of
minimum balanced multiway cut densities, that is one of the fundamental
problems of cluster analysis.Comment: 14 page
On the Complexity of Nondeterministically Testable Hypergraph Parameters
The paper proves the equivalence of the notions of nondeterministic and
deterministic parameter testing for uniform dense hypergraphs of arbitrary
order. It generalizes the result previously known only for the case of simple
graphs. By a similar method we establish also the equivalence between
nondeterministic and deterministic hypergraph property testing, answering the
open problem in the area. We introduce a new notion of a cut norm for
hypergraphs of higher order, and employ regularity techniques combined with the
ultralimit method.Comment: 33 page
A Poisson allocation of optimal tail
The allocation problem for a -dimensional Poisson point process is to find
a way to partition the space to parts of equal size, and to assign the parts to
the configuration points in a measurable, "deterministic" (equivariant) way.
The goal is to make the diameter of the part assigned to a configuration
point have fast decay. We present an algorithm for that achieves an
tail, which is optimal up to . This improves
the best previously known allocation rule, the gravitational allocation, which
has an tail. The construction is based on
the Ajtai-Koml\'{o}s-Tusn\'{a}dy algorithm and uses the
Gale-Shapley-Hoffman-Holroyd-Peres stable marriage scheme (as applied to
allocation problems).Comment: Published at http://dx.doi.org/10.1214/15-AOP1001 in the Annals of

On Approximability, Convergence, and Limits of CSP Problems
This thesis studies dense constraint satisfaction problems (CSPs), and other related optimization and decision problems that can be phrased as questions regarding parameters or properties of combinatorial objects such as uniform hypergraphs. We concentrate on the information that can be derived from a very small substructure that is selected uniformly at random. In this thesis, we present a unified framework on the limits of CSPs in the sense of the convergence notion of Lovasz-Szegedy that depends only on the remarkable connection between graph sequences and exchangeable arrays established by Diaconis-Janson. In particular, we formulate and prove a representation theorem for compact colored r-uniform directed hypergraphs and apply this to rCSPs. We investigate the sample complexity of testable r-graph parameters, and discuss a generalized version of ground state energies (GSE) and demonstrate that they are efficiently testable. The GSE is a term borrowed from statistical physics that stands for a generalized version of maximal multiway cut problems from complexity theory, and was studied in the dense graph setting by Borgs et al. A notion related to testing CSPs that are defined on graphs, the nondeterministic property testing, was introduced by Lovasz-Vesztergombi, which extends the graph property testing framework of Goldreich-Goldwasser-Ron in the dense graph model. In this thesis, we study the sample complexity of nondeterministically testable graph parameters and properties and improve existing bounds by several orders of magnitude. Further, we prove the equivalence of the notions of nondeterministic and deterministic parameter and property testing for uniform dense hypergraphs of arbitrary rank, and provide the first effective upper bound on the sample complexity in this general case
A szteroidterápia hatása az intraocularis nyomásra
A glükokortikoszteroidok a szemészeti és szisztémás gyulladásos betegségek kezelésében is kulcsfontosságú gyulladáscsökkentők. Hosszan tartó alkalmazásuk azonban szemnyomás-emelkedést és ennek talaján glaucomás neuropa-
thiát okozhat, mely potenciálisan akár vaksággal fenyegető szemészeti szövődmény. A szteroidterápia nemcsak sze-
tapasztalataink alapján összefoglaló áttekintést adjon a szteroidterápia indukálta iatrogén glaucoma etiológiájáról,
hatására is. A szteroidok szemnyomásemelő hatása függ a hatóanyag típusától, a beadás módjától és az alkalmazás
idejétől. Alkalmazási területtől függetlenül rendszeres szemészeti kontroll szükséges, különös tekintettel a glaucomás anamnézisre, hisz a tartós szemnyomás-emelkedés a látóidegrostok visszafordíthatatlan, végső soron akár vakságot okozó károsodását válthatja ki. Amennyiben a
szemnyomás-emelkedést nem lehet uralni konzervatív módon, műtéti megoldás jöhet szóba
