The purpose of this research is to give an emperical vidence the effect of the budget participation and job involvement toward the budgetary slack with organizational commitment as moderating variable. The samples of the research are the middle and the lower manager’s level in regional government of Bengkulu municipality. While, the statistical data analysis used multiple regression analysis and moderating regression analysis (MRA) by SPSS 15 version. Results of this research, first showed that the budgetary participation and job involvement have positive significance effect on budgetary slack. Second, interaction between budgetary slack and organizational commitment negative significance to budgetary slack. Third, interaction between job involvement and organization commitment did not negative significance effect to budgetary slack

The purpose of this in vitro study is to determine the expression of growth factors upon exposure of dental pulp stem cells (DPSC) to eluded Dycal®solution. In this book, samples were collected from sound, permanent teeth (age between 18-40 years old), with informed consent from patients who came for dental extraction under general anesthesia or local anesthesia at the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Faculty of Dentistry, University of Malaya. The isolation, culturing methods, growth kinetics, flowcytometry analysis and multilineage differentiation were carried out as described by Govindasamyet al., (2010). Cultured DPSC was then exposed to multiple concentration of Dycal®. The test samples were immersed and incubated in culture medium for 2, 5 and 8 days at 370C. The cytotoxic cell count was then recorded by Trypan Blue Dye exclusion. Then, total RNA was extracted and loaded into each well of The Human Growth Factors RT2 ProfileTM PCR arrays (www.SABiosciences.com) profiles that contain of 96 genes related to growth factors. RT2 Profiler PCR array was then performed on ABI Prism 7900HT (Applied Biosystems), and Sequence Detection System (SDS) v1.4 software was used to analyze the results. Samples with a cycle threshold of 35 or less were included for calculationsof the fold change in gene expression. As a result, a total of 38% genes were up-regulated in treated DPSC whereas, a total of 61% genes were down-regulated.Based on the up-regulated genes, it was found that 12 significant functions and 14 canonical pathways in treated DPSC might play a significant role in repair. The functional pathways of expressed genes that were up-regulated in treated DPSC were tissue development including cell growth and proliferation, cell to cell signaling and interaction and DNA replication, recombinant and repair in organism development

Mobile Learning Adoption among Tertiary Students

    Get PDF
The purpose of this study is to investigate the adoption of mobiles learning among higher institution students and the impact on their on their academic achievement.  Data was collect from students of four higher institutions around Melaka. A questionnaire survey was distribute to selected higher institutions in order to collect the data for the research. The study used convenience-sampling method to select the samples. Two hundred (200) respondents was participated in the study. Regression analysis were conduct to examine the effect of digital mobile learning device elements on the higher institution students' performance. The results of this study indicates that only perceived convenience has a significant positive relationship with student performance. However, there are no significant relationship between perceived information accuracy and perceives mobility and students’ academic achievement. The results also provide practitioners with guidelines for implementing digital mobile learning among tertiary students

Gender Differences: Motivations for performing physical exercise among adults in Shah Alam

    Get PDF
AbstractFemales exhibit lower levels of physical exercise performance than males. It seems that gender factor motivates people differently, in performing regular exercise. Our objective was to determine the relationship between 21 motivating reasons for performing physical exercise and genders. We found that males showed significantly higher means score in two motivating reasons; to have a positive effect on the sex life (4.18±1.01, p<0.001) and more energy to go about the daily chores (4.62± .63, p= 0.027). No significant gender difference in the mean score for the other 19 motivating reasons.ConclusionBoth sexes were almost equally motivated in performing physical exercises

Knowledge Acquisition Mechanisms during New Technology Implementation Process of Malaysia’s Automotive Engineering Support Industry

    Get PDF
Malaysia’s engineering support industry is crucial in supporting the country’s industry development because it is integrating to other economic sectors including manufacturing, construction, transportation and the primary industry. Players in this industry starting to upgrade their facilities and adopting new technologies to fulfill rigorous requirement of original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) for parts and components along with precision engineering service. Beside technology adoption, knowledge is the main advantage of firm to compete in the turbulence and increasingly complex new business environment. This research aims to explain the specific knowledge acquisition mechanisms used for three knowledge level as proposed by previous researcher. Semi-structured interview was conducted in two participating automotive tooling companies in Selangor to collect data for the study. Thematic analysis was conducted using NVivo. Results of this study found that among the knowledge acquisition mechanisms for declarative knowledge mentioned by the interviewees are basic training, intellectual capital, pre-departure training and instructor manual. The knowledge acquisition mechanisms for procedure knowledge includes external OJT, hiring external expert, related working experience, local training, benchmarking and personal observation. Finally, the knowledge acquisition mechanisms for conditional knowledge includes continuous improvement, learning by doing, project review and trial and error.

Postnatal confinement among Malay women: Comparing practices between two different generations

    Get PDF
This study aimed to determine the difference in postnatal confinement practice between two different generations. It was an unmatched cross-sectional study involving 200 women. Women aged less than 50, and 50 years old or more, were grouped as younger and older generation, respectively. This study showed there were significant differences in postnatal confinement practice including the pattern of food restriction and some traditional postnatal care practices (less sexual abstinence, hot compression, herbal bath and avoiding social outing among women from younger generations). Clinically proven intervention should be recommended, and harmful practices should be discouraged to ensure a safe confinement practice. Keywords:  post-partum; puerperium; traditional; era eISSN: 2398-4287 © 2019. Greening tea consumption would be one of the alternatives that help energizing innovative ecosystem. It is a way to reduce, reuse or recycle a waste thing which refers to reused tea bag and loose leaf tea. Tea bags or even loose leaf tea always can be used more than once, whether for a second cup of tea or by using it for numerous purposes. Rather throw it away to dustbin which is considered as a waste, it is better to reuse or recycle it for certain purposes. Imagines how much can we cut down our waste packaging which refer to individual tea bag whereby we have thrown out about 1095 tea bags each year assuming that we use only once a tea bag per cup and drinks on average three cups of tea per day. Tea bags and loose leaf teas can be multipurpose which they can be reused for cleaning, health and beauty, kitchen purpose, gardening, painting, dye fabrics, tell the future and self- analyze. As a conclusion, greening our tea consumption actually would give many good impact to our daily life which we are not realized on and would save our ecosystem in the future

Spectrophotometric Determination of Chlordiazepoxide in Pharmaceutical Formulations via Oxidative Coupling Reaction with Phenothiazine

    Get PDF
Abstract A sensitive, precise and reliable indirect spectrophotometric method for the determination of chlordiazepoxide (CDE) in pure and pharmaceutical dosage forms is described. The method is based on oxidative coupling reaction between amino group resulting from acidic decomposition of CDE with phenothiazine in the presence of sodium periodate to produce an intense green soluble dye that is stable and shows a maximum absorption at 602 nm. The calibration plot indicates that Beer’s law is obeyed over the concentration range of 0.1?50 µg/mL, with a molar absorptivity of 1×104 L/mol cm and correlation coefficient of 0.9994.All the conditions that affecting on the stability and sensitivity of the formed product were studied and optimized and the suggested method was effectively applied for the determination of CDE in commercial dosage forms
