    Environmental risk assessment of silver nanoparticles in 2 aquatic ecosystems using fuzzy logic

    The rapid development of nanotechnology has stimulated the use of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) in various fields that leads to their presence in different ecosystem compartments, in particular aquatic ecosystems. Several studies have shown that a variety of living organisms are affected by AgNPs. Therefore, a methodology to assess the risk of AgNPs for aquatic ecosystems was developed. The methodology is based on fuzzy logic, a proven method for dealing with variables with an associated uncertainty, as is the case with many variables related to AgNPs. After a careful literature search, a selection of relevant variables was carried out and the fuzzy model was designed. From inputs such as AgNPs’ size, shape, and coating, it is possible to determine their level of toxicity which, together with their level of concentration, are sufficient to create a risk assessment. Two case studies to assess this methodology are presented, one involving continuous effluent from a wastewater treatment plant and the second involving an accidental spill. The results showed that the accidental spills have a higher risk than WWTP release, with the combination of Plates–BPEI being the most toxic one.     Removal of emerging pollutants in conventional and microalgae based biotechnology urban wastewater treatment plants

    Wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) reduce portion of the input of pharmaceuticals in aquatic systems, but there is no data available about the elimination of emerging contaminants with microalgae technology. The aim of this work was to determine the average mass flows and concentrations of pharmaceuticals in influents and effluents from two sewages treatment plants using conventional and microalgae based biotechnologies and to compare the removal of pharmaceuticals using both depuration technologies. Only between 20 to 60% of five pharmaceuticals groups is reduce in both WWTP using conventional technologies consisting of a pretreatment, primary settling and secondary treatment by aerobic biological reactor. Using microalgae based biotechnologies efficiency of removal pharmaceuticals is higher than conventional technologies and it increase by using DAF (Dissolve Air Flotation) technology to separate algae biomass

    La enfermera debería incorporar nuevas habilidades en el manejo de las tecnologías de la información y la comunicación (TIC) que faciliten el desarrollo de su profesión. En este proceso se plantean dudas y resistencias que pueden convertirse en barreras para el desarrollo de su labor profesional. Las estrategias para vencer resistencias ante las nuevas formas de trabajar pasan por facilitar una formación correctamente planificada y adaptada a los profesionales que deben enfrentarse a estas nuevas tecnologías. Algunos de los aspectos clave relacionados con la formación de las enfermeras ante nuevas competencias y que pueden contribuir a su desarrollo exitoso en los centros asistenciales son la definición de tácticas claras de formación con identificación de buenas prácticas asistenciales como mecanismo conductor, el apoyo a las enfermeras asistenciales por parte de las gestoras que lideran los equipos asistenciales y la identificación de la predisposición de los usuarios frente a la formación. Lograr el éxito en el uso de las TIC puede residir en la participación activa de las propias enfermeras en el proceso formativo planificado, teniendo en cuenta nuevos enfoques asistenciales por vía telemática, como alternativa al actual modelo asistencial, tradicionalmente presencial

    This research is based on an analysis of how to transfer technology to implement a system of cultivation of red tilapia, and that its production is sustainable without causing ecological damage. It was based on the theoretical foundations of Gaynor (1999), Escorza (2001), Zorrilla (1997). It was a field investigation. Concluding that the livestock sector in the Municipality of Fonseca does not have the technical, human, financial and technological resources necessary for its development in fish farming, requiring strategies for its implementation articulated to a training dynamic for production that strengthens it.Esta investigación se fundamentó en un análisis de cómo transferir tecnología para implementar un sistema de cultivo de tilapia roja, y que su producción sea sustentable sin ocasionar daños ecológicos.     Estrategias de resolución de conflictos desarrolladas por los instructores del Centro Agroempresarial y Acuícola Sena sede Fonseca

    The objective of the research was to establish the conflict resolution strategies developed by the instructors of the Centro Agroempresarial and Acuicola SENA Fonseca headquarters. The investigation was descriptive, with a non-experimental transactional design. The population consisted of (110) instructors applying the population census. The data collection technique was the survey, the observation, the interview guide and the field diary, using a questionnaire-type instrument with multiple selection scale response options. The results determined that the negotiation, mediation and conciliation strategies are used by the instructors for the resolution of conflicts within the institution, with the purpose of establishing a harmonious coexistence environment. Finally, it is concluded that instructors apply this type of conflict resolution strategies, since they generate important changes in the interdisciplinary process of students, such as creativity, a more communicative, participatory mind, dynamic in obtaining new solutions.El objetivo de la investigación fue establecer las estrategias de resolución de conflictos   desarrolladas por los instructores del Centro Agroempresarial y Acuícola SENA sede Fonseca.  La investigación fue de tipo descriptivo, con diseño no experimental transaccional. La población estuvo conformada por (110) instructores aplicándose el censo poblacional. La técnica de recolección de datos fue la encuesta, la observación, la guía de entrevista y el diario de campo utilizándose un instrumento tipo cuestionario con opciones de respuestas de escalas de selección múltiples. Los resultados determinaron que las estrategias de negociación, mediación y conciliación son utilizadas por los instructores para la resolución de conflictos dentro de la institución, con el propósito de establecer un ambiente de convivencia en armonía. Finalmente se concluye que los instructores aplican este tipo de estrategias de resolución de conflictos, ya que, generan cambios importantes en el proceso interdisciplinario de los estudiantes, como creatividad, mente más comunicativa, participativa, dinámica en la obtención de nuevas soluciones
