    Sistematización de procesos y su influencia en la productividad del personal del área de dirección académica de una empresa privada del rubro educación superior ubicada en Lima en el período 2023

    El presente trabajo de investigación se realizó con 63 colaboradores del área de dirección académica de una empresa privada de la ciudad de Lima, perteneciente al rubro de educación superior, con la finalidad de mejorar la gestión para incrementar la productividad del personal. Este estudio tuvo como objetivo principal determinar si la sistematización de procesos influye en la productividad del personal de la dirección académica de una empresa privada de rubro de educación superior ubicada en Lima en el periodo 2023. Específicamente: (a) determinar si la elaboración de materiales influye en la productividad del personal, (b) determinar si los recursos tecnológicos influyen en la productividad del personal y (c) determinar si la capacitación en sistematización influye en la productividad del personal. Para lo cual, se elaboró un cuestionario con 14 preguntas cerradas, tomando en cuenta las variables de estudio, sus dimensiones e indicadores. Se encontró que los siguientes factores influyen positivamente en la productividad del personal del área de dirección académica: la sistematización de procesos, los procesos de elaboración de materiales instruccionales, los recursos tecnológicos y la capacitación en sistematización. Por lo tanto, se recomienda a la empresa seguir invirtiendo en estos aspectos para mejorar su eficiencia y calidad educativ

    Impact of COVID-19 Lockdown in Eating Disorders: A Multicentre Collaborative International Study

Patients with eating disorders (ED) have been particularly vulnerable. Aims: (1) To explore changes in eating-related symptoms and general psychopathology during lockdown in patients with an ED from various European and Asian countries; and (2) to assess differences related to diagnostic ED subtypes, age, and geography. Methods: The sample comprised 829 participants, diagnosed with an ED according to DSM-5 criteria from specialized ED units in Europe and Asia. Participants were assessed using the COVID-19 Isolation Scale (CIES). Results: Patients with binge eating disorder (BED) experienced the highest impact on weight and ED symptoms in comparison with other ED subtypes during lockdown, whereas individuals with other specified feeding and eating disorders (OFSED) had greater deterioration in general psychological functioning than subjects with other ED subtypes. Finally, Asian and younger individuals appeared to be more resilient. Conclusions: The psychopathological changes in ED patients during the COVID-19 lockdown varied by cultural context and individual variation in age and ED diagnosis. Clinical services may need to target preventive measures and adapt therapeutic approaches for the most vulnerable patients

As a result, phenotypic loci such as the ones responsible for human eye, hair and skin color are starting to get known. These may provide information for identification of unknown sample donors in criminal casework when there are no suspects. This kind of information may be even more relevant when the sample donor possesses phenotypic characteristics which distinguish him from the population in which he is inserted. Nevertheless, this approach may be used in similar scientific areas. In this work, a DNA sample from a mummified corpse with historical and scientific interest was studied in order to discover more information about who this corps belonged to. One of the tools used in this investigation was IrisPlex, designed for eye color prediction. This study presents one example on how this methodologies may be useful, not only in forensic investigation but also in areas such as physical anthropology.N/

    Chlamydia trachomatis: when the virulence-associated genome backbone imports a prevalence-associated major antigen signature

    Chlamydia trachomatis is the most prevalent sexually transmitted bacterium worldwide and the causative agent of trachoma. Its strains are classified according to their ompA genotypes, which are strongly linked to differential tissue tropism and disease outcomes [ocular disease, urogenital disease and lymphogranuloma venereum (LGV)]. While the genome-based species phylogenetic tree presents four main clades correlating with tropism/prevalence, namely ocular, LGV, urogenital T1 (more prevalent genotypes) and urogenital T2 (less prevalent genotypes), inter-clade exchange of ompA is considered a rare phenomenon probably mediating marked tropism alterations. An LGV epidemic, associated with the clonal expansion of the L2b genotype, has emerged in the last few decades, raising concerns particularly due to its atypical clinical presentation (ulcerative proctitis) and circulation among men who have sex with men (MSM). Here, we report an LGV outbreak, mostly affecting human immunodeficiency virus-positive MSM engaging in high-risk sexual practices, caused by an L2b strain with a rather unique non-LGV ompA signature that precluded the laboratory notification of this outbreak as LGV. C. trachomatis whole-genome capture and sequencing directly from clinical samples was applied to deeply characterize the genomic backbone of this novel LGV outbreak-causing clone. It revealed a chimeric genome structure due to the genetic transfer of ompA and four neighbouring genes from a serovar D/Da strain, likely possessing the genomic backbone associated with the more prevalent urogenital genotypes (T1 clade), to an LGV (L2b) strain. The hybrid L2b/D-Da strain presents the adhesin and immunodominant antigen MOMP (major outer membrane protein) (encoded by ompA) with an epitope repertoire typical of non-invasive genital strains, while keeping the genome-dispersed virulence fingerprint of a classical LGV strain. As previously reported for inter-clade ompA exchange among non-LGV clades, this novel C. trachomatis genomic mosaic involving a contemporary epidemiologically and clinically relevant LGV strain may have implications on its transmission, tissue tropism and pathogenic capabilities.     First Radiological Study of a Complete Dental Ontogeny Sequence of an Extinct Equid: Implications for Equidae Life History and Taphonomy

    The sequence of cheek teeth mineralization, eruption, and replacement of an extinct horse species is here documented with radiological techniques for the first time thanks to the exceptional preservation of Hipparion sp. mandibles from Cerro de los Batallones (Madrid Basin, Spain). The sequence of dental ontogeny in mammals provides valuable insights about life history traits, such as the pace of growth, and about the mode of formation of fossiliferous assemblages. We have determined that the order of permanent cheek teeth mineralization and eruption of hipparionine horses is m1, m2, (p2, p3), p4, m3. Cheek teeth mineralization timing of hipparionine horses coincides with the one observed in modern equids. In turn, there are differences in the eruption timing of the p4 and m3 between horses belonging to the Anchitheriinae and Hipparionini compared to equids of the Equus genus that might be related to the shorter durability of the deciduous tooth dp4 in anchitheriine and hipparionine horses and, more broadly, to an increased durability of equid teeth through their evolutionary history. Based on the dental eruption sequence, hipparionine horses are slow-growing, long-living mammals.
