Surface magnetostriction of FeCoB amorphous ribbons analyzed using magneto-optical Kerr microscopy

Surface sensitive magneto-optical Kerr microscopy completed with the special self-made sample holder is used for studying the magneto-elastic behaviour in the surface of the as-quenched amorphous Fe73Co12B15 alloy. The 10, 5, and 3 mm wide and approximately 34 mu m thick ribbons were prepared by the conventional planar flow casting process. The experimental setup allows for a simultaneous application of an external magnetic field in the directions parallel and perpendicular to the ribbon axis and of compression stress from one side of the sample, resulting in tensile stress in opposite side. The distributions of tensile stresses in the measured surface were modelled by the finite element method. The observed changes of the magnetic domains and hysteresis loop anisotropy field under applied stress are evaluated using the Becker-Kersten method. This resulted in the determination of the local surface magnetostrictive coefficient from an area of about 200 mu m in diameter. The obtained values ranged between 37-60 ppm and were well comparable with the bulk value presented in the literature.Web of Science132art. no. 25

Advanced Modelling of Thermally Induced Displacements and Its Implementation into Standard CNC Controller of Horizontal Milling Center

AbstractThis paper is a continuation of scientific work on advanced modelling of thermally induced displacements based on thermal transfer functions (TTF). A mathematical model using TTF was implemented into a standard CNC controller of horizontal milling center to compensate for thermal errors in real time. The inputs of the compensation algorithm are spindle rotational speed and the temperatures of the machine structure. It was achieved a reduction of thermal errors of more than 75% of the initial value in various working cycles. Moreover, the results of the TTF model were compared with 2 models obtained via MLR as a case study

The Island Topos: From Paradise to Prison

This article deals with the transformation of the island topos. The island is frequently depicted as a paradise and prison in English literature and the article elaborates on the transformation of the two topoi. Prior to the depiction of the transformation, the article deals with perceptions and attitudes people have associated with islands throughout history. The core part of the article describes the process of the island transformation. It also points out the significant geographical features of islands which help to change the perception of the environment. Works by English authors such as, The Magus, Utopia, Web, Robinson Crusoe and Gulliver’s Travels are used in order to help illustrate the processes of this transformation

Graphical Tool for Packet Generation

Tato práce se zabývá problematikou generátorů síťových paketů. První část je věnována teorii komunikace v počítačových sítích z pohledu architektury TCP/IP. Druhá část je věnována výsledkům rešerše aktuálně dostupných nástrojů. Třetí část je věnována návrhu a implementaci vlastního nástroje s grafickým uživatelským rozhraním pro generování paketů. Nástroj je navržen objektovým způsobem s důrazem na snadnou možnost budoucího rozšíření. Koncept nástroje zahrnuje, kromě možnosti generovat jednotlivé pakety, také prostředky pro generování jejich dynamicky se měnících sérií za účelem simulace síťových toků. Navržený nástroj je implementován pomocí programovacího jazyka C++ s využitím frameworku Qt. Poslední část práce obsahuje zhodnocení dosažených výsledků a porovnání vytvořené aplikace s již dostupnými řešeními.This bachelor's thesis is about network packet generators. The first part is devoted to communication theory in computer networks from the perspective of TCP/IP architecture. The second part describes the results of search for currently available tools. The third part is devoted to design and implementation of own tool with graphical user interface for packets generation. The tool is designed object-oriented with an emphasis on ease of future expansion. The application concept includes also tools for generating dynamically changing series of packets to simulate network flows. The designed tool is implemented using the programming language C++ and the Qt framework. The last part contains an evaluation of results and comparison with the already available solutions.

Onset of η\eta nuclear binding

Recent studies of $\eta$ nuclear quasibound states by the Jerusalem-Prague Collaboration are reviewed, focusing on stochastic variational method self consistent calculations of $\eta$ few-nucleon systems. These calculations suggest that a minimum value Re$\,a_{\eta N} \approx 1$ fm (0.7 fm) is needed to bind \eta\,^3He (\eta\,^4He).Comment: presented by A. Analysis Tool for the Network Traffic Content

Tato práce se zabývá problematikou návrhu a implementace nástroje pro analýzu obsahu síťové komunikace v rámci projektu SEC6NET na FIT VUT v Brně. Jsou zde popsány požadavky na takovýto nástroj a problémy, které tyto požadavky vytvářejí. Způsob jejich řešení je diskutován v rámci návrhu vytvářeného nástroje. Jedná se zejména o zajištění persitence dat, výkonnost a celkovou architekturu nástroje. Poslední část práce popisuje nástroj Netfox Detective vytvořený na základě tohoto návrhu. Uvedeny jsou zejména možnosti a prostředky, které nástroj nabízí. Práce jako celek klade důraz na možnosti rozšiřitelnosti vytvářeného nástroje, který by měl být snadno doplnitelný jak o podporované protokoly, tak o novou funkcionalitu.This paper is about designing and implementing a tool for analysis of the network traffic content. Work is part of the SEC6NET project at FIT - Brno University of Technology. The paper describes specific requirement for such a tool and existing solutions. The main part is devoted to design and implementation of new tool - Netfox Detective. Several problems are handled: data persistence, performance, extensibility, etc. The last part of work describes possibilities and features of the Netfox Detective. The work emphasises extensibility and future development of a created tool.

Energetická otázka představuje dlouhodobě jedno z nejčastěji diskutovaných témat v mezinárodních vztazích (MV), přičemž stranou pozornosti nezůstala ani pro Evropskou unii (EU) a Ruskou federaci (RF). Naopak oba aktéři věnují problematice energetiky dlouhodobě zvýšenou pozornost. Pro Evropskou unii jako jednoho z největších světových spotřebitelů a dovozců je energetika, resp. zajištění energetické bezpečnosti, tématem jak vnitřní politiky (liberalizace vnitřního trhu s elektřinou a plynem, propojení energetické infrastruktury členských států), tak vnější politiky (energetické vztahy s hlavními producentskými státy). Podobně pro Ruskou federaci jako jednoho z hlavních producentů, který je silně závislý na prodeji a vývozu energetických surovin, hraje energetika důležitou roli jak ve vnitřní politice (rozhodující determinanta ekonomického růstu) tak ve vnější politice (úzké propojení energetiky s bezpečnostní politikou a důležitý nástroj zahraničně-politického vlivu ve světě)

The Impact and Issues of Cultural Diversity on Management in a Selected Company

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá vlivem kulturní diverzity na řízení týmu a podniku vybrané společnosti. Teoretická část se zaměřuje zejména na kulturní teorii Hofstedeho a jeho poznatky k obtížnosti vedení multikulturního týmu, ale též bere v potaz i ostatní teoretiky. Tato práce využívá několik dotazníků ke zjištění mezikulturního vlivu na vybranou společnost a analyzuje tyto výsledky, které jsou následně využity k návrhům pro zlepšení výkonnosti podniku.This bachelor thesis focuses on the impact and issues of cultural diversity on management and leadership in a selected company operating internationally. Theoretical analysis focuses mainly on Hofstede’s understanding of culture and the difficulties of multicultural teams, but takes into consideration other cultural theories as well. Furthermore, this thesis uses several questionnaires to gain better insight into the intercultural environment of a selected company. At the end of the thesis, various proposals are provided in order to augment the company’s performance.
