Огляд підходів до розв’язання задач ідентифікації парафраз

The article is devoted to a review of approaches to solving the problem of identifying paraphrases. This problem's relevance and use in tasks such as plagiarism detection, text simplification, and information search are described. Several classes of solutions were considered. The first approach is based on manual rules - it uses manually selected features based on the fundamental properties of paraphrases. The second approach is based on lexical similarity and various databases and ontologies. Machine learning-based approaches are also presented in this paper and describe different architectures that can be used to identify paraphrases. The last approach considered is based on deep learning and modern models of transformers. Описується актуальність та використання даної задачі у таких задачах як виявлення плагіату, спрощення тексту та пошук інформації. Було розглянуто декілька класів вирішення даної задачі. Перший підхід заснований на ручних правилах - використовує вручну підібрані особливості базуючись на базових властивостях парафраз. Другий підхід заснований на лексичній подібності та різноманітних базах даних і онтології. Підходи, засновані на машинному навчанні також представлені у даній статті та описує архітектури, які можуть бути використані для ідентифікації парафраз. Останній підхід який розглянуто базується на глибокому навчанні та сучасних моделях трансформерів

A 10-hour period revealed in optical spectra of the highly variable WN8 Wolf-Rayet star WR 123

Aims. What is the origin of the large-amplitude variability in Wolf-Rayet WN8 stars in general and WR123 in particular? A dedicated spectroscopic campaign targets the ten-hour period previously found in the high-precision photometric data obtained by the MOST satellite. Methods. In June-August 2003 we obtained a series of high signal-to-noise, mid-resolution spectra from several sites in the {\lambda}{\lambda} 4000 - 6940 A^{\circ} domain. We also followed the star with occasional broadband (Johnson V) photometry. The acquired spectroscopy allowed a detailed study of spectral variability on timescales from \sim 5 minutes to months. Results. We find that all observed spectral lines of a given chemical element tend to show similar variations and that there is a good correlation between the lines of different elements, without any significant time delays, save the strong absorption components of the Hei lines, which tend to vary differently from the emission parts. We find a single sustained periodicity, P \sim 9.8 h, which is likely related to the relatively stable pulsations found in MOST photometry obtained one year later. In addition, seemingly stochastic, large-amplitude variations are also seen in all spectral lines on timescales of several hours to several days.Comment: 6 pages, 4 figures, 2 tables, data available on-line, accepted in A&A Research Note

Random matrices, non-backtracking walks, and orthogonal polynomials

Several well-known results from the random matrix theory, such as Wigner's law and the Marchenko--Pastur law, can be interpreted (and proved) in terms of non-backtracking walks on a certain graph. Orthogonal polynomials with respect to the limiting spectral measure play a role in this approach.Comment: (more) minor change

Influence of strategic management and chosen strategy on industrial competitiveness

В статті досліджено актуальне питання впливу стратегічного управління та обраної стратегії на конкурентоспроможність промислового підприємства. Досліджені найбільш значущі пріоритети використання ефективних інноваційних, інвестиційних стратегій та суміщених стратегій; виявлені певні переваги і недоліки, можливості їхнього використання промисловими підприємствами.Стратегічному управлінню відводиться важливе місце в процесі функціонування промислового підприємства при здійсненні обраної стратегії, оскільки саме на цій стадії формуються умови для її виконання. Стратегічне управління передбачає визначення ключових позицій на перспективу в залежності від поставлених цілей; виділення ресурсів під стратегічні цілі; створення центрів керівництва кожною стратегічною ціллю; оцінку і стимулювання виробничих підрозділів та їх керівників за ступенем досягнення стратегічних цілей. Конкурентна стратегія промислового підприємства складається з дієвих підходів і ініціатив, які вона використовує для залучення споживачів, опору конкурентному тиску і зміцнення своїх ринкових позицій. Реалізація стратегії не можлива без стратегічного управління, яке в свою чергу базується на стратегічному плануванні. Для ефективного ведення конкурентного суперництва необхідно мати певні конкурентні переваги, які створюють свого роду «міцне підґрунтя» для забезпечення конкурентоспроможності підприємства порівняно з підприємствами-конкурентами.In the article the topical issue of the impact of strategic management and the strategy chosen on the industrial competitiveness of the enterprise. We studied the most important priorities for the use of effective innovation, investment strategies and common policies; revealed certain advantages and disadvantages, possibilities of their use by industry. Strategic management role to play in the process of functioning of industrial enterprise in the implementation of the chosen strategy, because it is at this stage, formed the conditions for its implementation. Strategic management involves the identification of key positions in the future, depending on the goals; the allocation of resources by strategic objectives; creation of management centers of each of the strategic goal; evaluation and promotion of the production units and their leaders on the degree of achievement of strategic objectives. Competitive strategy of an industrial enterprise is the most effective approaches and initiatives, which it uses to attract consumers, competitive pressure resistance and to strengthen its market positions. The strategy is not possible without strategic management, which in turn is based on strategic planning. For effective management of competitive rivalry is necessary to have certain competitive advantages that create a kind of "solid foundation" for enterprise competitiveness compared with companies competitors

Forming strategic objectives of regional development and determining the assessment of level of development

В статті досліджені сучасні проблеми розвитку регіонів та фактори впливу на визначення оцінки рівня розвитку регіонів. Досліджені стратегічні орієнтири розвитку регіонів та визначена залежність між оцінками рівня соціально-економічного розвитку регіону та якості життя працюючого населення. Досліджені індикатори, які характеризують рівень життя і розвиток регіону обумовлюють сукупність оцінок визначеного виду більш особистих властивостей та критеріїв цього поняття, які можуть бути представленими у вигляді різних комбінацій звітних статистичних показників, а в деяких випадках відповідних експертних оцінок. Пропоноване застосування підходу, який дозволятиме визначити основні напрями розвитку регіонів по інноваційній траєкторії та визначити механізми реалізації цих напрямів.The article explored contemporary issues of regional development and the factors influencing the assessment of level of development. Researched strategic objectives of regional development and defined the relationship between the estimated level of socio-economic development and quality of life of the working population. Investigated indicators that characterize the quality of life and development of the region, determine the aggregate estimates a certain kind of most important characteristics and criteria of this concept, which can be represented in a variety of combinations of reporting statistical indicators and in some cases appropriate expert estimates. The proposed approach, which will allow to identify the main directions of development of regions on innovation trajectory and determine the mechanisms for implementing these directions

Inverse spectral problems for Sturm--Liouville operators with matrix-valued potentials

We give a complete description of the set of spectral data (eigenvalues and specially introduced norming constants) for Sturm--Liouville operators on the interval $[0,1]$ with matrix-valued potentials in the Sobolev space $W_2^{-1}$ and suggest an algorithm reconstructing the potential from the spectral data that is based on Krein's accelerant method.Comment: 39 pages, uses iopart.cls, iopams.sty and setstack.sty by IO

Nanoscale periodicity in stripe-forming systems at high temperature: Au/W(110)

We observe using low-energy electron microscopy the self-assembly of monolayer-thick stripes of Au on W(110) near the transition temperature between stripes and the non-patterned (homogeneous) phase. We demonstrate that the amplitude of this Au stripe phase decreases with increasing temperature and vanishes at the order-disorder transition (ODT). The wavelength varies much more slowly with temperature and coverage than theories of stress-domain patterns with sharp phase boundaries would predict, and maintains a finite value of about 100 nm at the ODT. We argue that such nanometer-scale stripes should often appear near the ODT.Comment: 5 page
