Gravity Waves and Primordial Black Holes in Scalar Warm Little Inflation

This work has been partially supported by MICINN (PID2019-105943GB-I00/AEI/10.13039/501100011033) and Junta de Andalucía" grants P18-FR-4314 and A-FQM-211-UGR18.In warm inflation, dissipation due to the interactions of the inflaton field to other light degrees of freedom leads naturally to the enhancement of the primordial spectrum during the last 10-20 efolds of inflation. We study this effect in a variant of the Warm Little Inflaton model, where the inflaton couples to light scalars, with a quartic chaotic potential. These large fluctuations on re-entry will form light, evaporating Primordial Black Holes, with masses lighter than 10(6) g. But at the same time they will act as a source for the tensors at second order. The enhancement is maximal near the end of inflation, which result in a spectral density of Gravitational Waves (GW) peaked at frequencies f similar to O(10(5) - 10(6)) Hz today, and with an amplitude Omega(GW) similar to 10(-9). Although the frequency range is outside the reach of present and planned GW detectors, it might be reached in future high-frequency gravitational waves detectors, designed to search for cosmological stochastic GW backgrounds above MHz frequencies.MICINN (PID2019-105943GB-I00/AEI/10.13039/501100011033)Junta de Andalucía" grants P18-FR-4314 and A-FQM-211-UGR1

Para entender la obra de Teresa de la Parra es fundamental conocer la historia de las mujeres de América Latina desde el siglo XIX hasta el siglo XX, centrándonos en los espacios de inclusión y exclusión, los avances, los impedimentos y el surgimiento de movimientos como el feminismo y el sufragismo

ABS: a database of Annotated regulatory Binding Sites from orthologous promoters

Information about the genomic coordinates and the sequence of experimentally identified transcription factor binding sites is found scattered under a variety of diverse formats. The availability of standard collections of such high-quality data is important to design, evaluate and improve novel computational approaches to identify binding motifs on promoter sequences from related genes. ABS () is a public database of known binding sites identified in promoters of orthologous vertebrate genes that have been manually curated from bibliography. We have annotated 650 experimental binding sites from 68 transcription factors and 100 orthologous target genes in human, mouse, rat or chicken genome sequences. Computational predictions and promoter alignment information are also provided for each entry. A simple and easy-to-use web interface facilitates data retrieval allowing different views of the information. In addition, the release 1.0 of ABS includes a customizable generator of artificial datasets based on the known sites contained in the collection and an evaluation tool to aid during the training and the assessment of motif-finding programs

Students' perception of the difficulty of Chemistry concepts

Chemistry is considered highly complex by students. Thus, students usually abandon the subject. To achieve meaningful learning, it is necessary to show its usefulness in daily life, in the development of a country and a society. Learning will be significant when the student can incorporate it into the structures of prior knowledge that they possess, acquiring significance for them. In this specific case, the research aims to contribute to the improvement of the teaching-learning processes of Chemistry in the studies of the Degree in Mechanical Engineering. In this work was studied which were the concepts that are considered the most difficult by students. In addition, it was studied, the relationship between the concepts that were considered difficult by the students and the concepts considered difficult by the teachers of the subject was studied too. The main idea is to know the difficult concepts to introduce some activities that makes easy to learn them. Los principios configuradores en la empresa periodística: naturaleza y condicionantes. Establecimiento de un modelo de análisis

El presente trabajo estudia los aspectos teóricos y conceptuales de los principios configuradores, su aplicación práctica en las empresas de prensa y su incidencia en los contenidos, las audiencias, la publicidad y el mercado informativo. Una vez señalada la relevancia de los principios configuradores y las pautas intraempresariales y extraempresariales que interfieren en su materialización, se profundiza en la plasmación del ideario en función de la necesidad, las etapas en el proceso de concreción y los protagonistas en su plasmación. Todo ello facilita la elaboración de un modelo de análisis que aborda los distintos elementos del producto informativo impreso, al tiempo que permite valorar la existencia de dichos principios y sus consecuencias en la actividad, estructura y contenidos de las empresas periodísticas

Síntesis, caracterización estructural y eléctrica de materiales tipo columbita y trirutilos ANb₂-xTAxO₆ (A=Ni y Mn) y de algunos derivados sustituidos-Ti

En el presente trabajo se ha desarrollado una investigación sobre la búsqueda de nuevos materiales de base inorgánica para pilas de combustible. Actualmente existen numerosos prototipos de pila de combustible, incluso podemos encontrar comercializados algunos de ellos. Teniendo en cuenta la tremenda dificultad que supone no sólo el descubrimiento de un material con aplicaciones prácticas reales en una celda de combustible de óxido sólido (SOFC en inglés) (ya sea electrolito, ánodo, cátodo o interconectores) así como la propia construcción de la celda, el objetivo de la presente tesis no es optimizar el dispositivo en sí, sino explorar las posibilidades de algunos compuestos como componentes de tales dispositivos. En particular exploramos nuevos conductores mixtos basados en los sistemas NiNb₂-XTaXO₆, MnNb₂-XTaXO₆, donde (0 ≤ x ≤2), y algunos derivados sustituidos-Ti, como posibles electrodos en pilas de combustible de óxido sólido. No entraremos a estudiar en profundidad todos los tipos de pilas de combustible que funcionan a día de hoy, únicamente describiremos con un poco más de detalle las SOFCs, puesto que será en este modelo hacia los que dirigiremos los materiales estudiados

Fluorescent in situ hybridization and flow cytometry as tools to evaluate the treatments for the control of slime-forming enterobacteria in paper mills

Slime formation is a serious problem nowadays in the paper industry. Some enterobacteria are associated with the formation of slime deposits in paper and board mills. Detection and characterization of slime forming bacteria, belonging to the genus Enterobacter, Raoultella, and Klebsiella have been achieved by fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH), using one probe based on the enterobacterial repetitive intergenic consensus sequence and other two rRNA targeted oligonucleotide probes. The effects of three kinds of antimicrobiological products (biocides, dispersants, and enzymes) on these enterobacterial cells were analyzed by flow cytometry (FC). Biocides Butrol 1009 and 1072 were the most effective microbiocides against all enterobacterial cells analyzed, reaching 90% of dead bacteria after 24 h. However, the enzymatic treatment (Buzyme) was not equally efficient on enterobacteria and its microbiocide capacity varied depending on the type of microorganism. FISH and FC were effective tools to detect important slime forming enterobacteria and to select specific treatments to control microbial problems in the paper industry

La investigación científica acerca de los principios editoriales debe mucho a la reflexión del profesor Nieto Tamargo, quien ha dedicado en sus escritos prolongada atención al tema. Sus planteamientos, lejos de perder actualidad, siguen vigentes y resultan esclarecedores no sólo para el estudio de los contenidos de los medios sino también para la comprensión de la razón de ser de la empresa informativa, y de su organización y gestión. En este artículo, los autores buscan ahondar en el pensamiento de Alfonso Nieto sobre esta crucial cuestión y alertan sobre la necesidad de impulsar investigaciones orientadas a analizar la formulación y coherencia de los principios configuradores en las actuales empresas de comunicación
