Do It, Don’t Feel It, and Be Invincible: A Prolog of Exercise Addiction in Endurance Sports

The social relevance of endurance sports has increased people’s motivation to engage in these particular physical activities, associating their practice with a particular lifestyle (e.g., feeling victorious and a feeling of self-improvement). Therefore, the dark personality traits (not because they are negative but because they are more hidden), understood as a personal and adaptive response to the psychosocial relationships that athletes establish while practicing these sports. Following these arguments, Grit has been used to trace the response of athletes in their quest to improve performance and endurance in the face of common setbacks suffered as a result of long hours of training. Empirical studies should help to discover how these personality traits can pose real challenges to their adaptation, and what the impact of their psychological response may be in a functional or dysfunctional way [e.g., exercise addiction (EA)], in order to classify them as risk or protective factors. Through transversal design, the present study sought to explore the relationship between Grit and Dark Traits of Personality regarding the appearance of EA in a sample (N = 241) of amateur endurance sport athletes (Mage = 31.80; SD = 9.87). The results show that men not only score higher for addiction levels but also for narcissism (grandiosity feelings) and psychopathy (coldness) factors. If signs of narcissism and Machiavellianism increase, perseverance efforts grow too, and the likelihood of EA increases considerably. The conclusions drawn on the basis of the results allow us to place consistency of interest as a protective factor for the EA, whereas Dark Traits of personality – especially Machiavellianism – constitute a risk factor

Reducción de psicofármacos en aguas residuales después de la filtración con membranas

Se analiza la presencia de diferentes psicofármacos en el agua residual y los rendimientos de eliminación obtenidos en una depuradora convencional. Los psicofármacos prácticamente no se eliminan en el tratamiento biológico. Sin embargo, se ha obtenido una biodegradación considerable debido al tipo de compuesto y de la edad del fango. Además se estudian las retenciones de estos compuestos empleando tratamientos terciarios convencionales y plantas piloto de ultrafiltración y nanofiltración. New Insights in Prognosis and Therapy of Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia

Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL) is a heterogeneous disease with a very variable clinical outcome. New biological markers, such as cytogenetic abnormalities or mutation status, have become important prognostic factors. Whole-genome sequencing studies have revealed novel genomic mutations, NOTCH1, SF3B1, BIRC3, TP53 and MYD88 being the most important. All these mutations have also been associated with the disease outcome. The treatment of CLL has evolved favourably in recent years. However, adverse events or chemorefractoriness occurs in some cases. Luckily, an increasing number of compounds are under development with promising results. Some of these new targeted therapies include B-cell receptor inhibitors, new anti-CD20 antibodies, Bcl-2 inhibitors, immunomodulatory drugs or chimeric antigen receptors (CARs). In this chapter, we will conduct a review of the new prognostic markers of CLL, the relationship they have with each other to build prognostic scores, the role they have in guiding treatment decisions and the novel therapies that have emerged recently with immunologic, biochemical and genetic targets

Es la hora del marketing interno

Convinced that human capital is the most important source of competitive advantage in markets (Penrose, 1959), and bearing in mind that academic literature advocate toanalyse which kind of factors determine success in new service development process do not consider directly the application of internal marketing programmes, the aim of this paper is discover its relative relevance in this research area. To achieve this objective, we have considered the following stages. Firstly, we have recollected papers in international journals included in JCR (Journal Citation Report) index, related to innovation in services. Secondly, we have selected papers devoted to success factors. Finally, we have classified the different factors discovered into five main groups following the De Brentani (1995) and Johnson et al. (2000) categories. Once the general topic of internal marketing or related instruments (like internal communication) or philosophical background (like market orientation) appeared, we have noticed. As conclusion, we observe that internal marketing considerations are in fact treated as an emergent factor of success in new service development process able to become the centre of attention in the nearest futureConvencidos de que el capital humano es la principal fuente de ventajas competitivas en los mercados (Penrose, 1959), y teniendo en cuenta que la literatura académica que analiza qué tipo de factores determinan el éxito del proceso de desarrollo de un nuevo servicio no considera directamente la aplicación de programas de marketing interno, el objetivo de este trabajo ha sido descubrir su relevancia relativa en este campo de investigación. Para conseguir este objetivo, primero se han recopilado los artículos relacionados con innovación en servicios en las revistas internacionales indexadas en el JCR (Journal Citation Report). En segundo lugar, se han seleccionado los artículos centrados en factores de éxito para finalmente, clasificar los diferentes factores hallados en cinco grandes grupos siguiendo las categorías de De Brentani (1995) y Johnson et al. (2000). Como conclusión, se ha constatado que el tópico general de marketing interno, alguno de sus instrumentos o bien su base filosófica (como la orientación al mercado), están siendo considerados un factor emergente de éxito en los procesos de desarrollo de nuevos servicios, capaz de llegar a ser el centro de atención en un futuro cercano

Derecho al trabajo y la estabilidad laboral de mujeres víctimas del conflicto armado en Colombia, Sincelejo

This work refers to the labor law on women victims of armed conflict, in order to generate new beginnings and stability both emotionally, physically and economically. The role of women as an active member of the war has been modified over time. In its beginnings, in the period of Violence (1948-1958), women actively participated in the war offices always respecting the traditional sexual division of labor of Colombian society that was based on male leadership and female labor in the care and survival. At present, the armed conflict (mainly in the guerrillas) has been leading women to assume new roles within these groups, leaving aside the division of labor based on gender, and matching men and women in the The work they do, that is why today, women carry rifles and declare themselves full-time revolutionary combatants with the same duties, rights and responsibilities as men. (Marón, 2003). The main intention is to analyze how women have been assuming new roles in the armed conflict, leaving aside their status as victims and taking center stage in different scenarios such as social, war and political. In this way, relevance is gained by showing the different spheres in which the woman has acted, leaving aside the victim and combatant approach to open up to new spheres of power that allows them to have an active role in the conflict and construction of peace. It also includes a novel element that other research has left aside and is the fact of seeing in an integral way the roles of women in the wake of the conflict, not only how it performs but also what led it to assume that role . All of the above within the basis of a patriarchal society that has taken for granted that women are victims of their gender and that they have not explored the stages where women have ventured, in part thanks to the armed conflict.El presente trabajo hace referencia al derecho laboral sobre la mujer víctima del conflicto armado, con el fin de generar nuevos comienzos y estabilidad tanto emocional, física y económica. El rol de la mujer como miembro activo de la guerra se ha ido modificando con el paso del tiempo. En sus inicios, en el periodo de la Violencia (1948-1958), las mujeres participaban activamente en los oficios de la guerra respetando siempre la tradicional división sexual del trabajo de la sociedad colombiana que se basaba en el protagonismo masculino y la labor femenina en el cuidado y sobrevivencia. En la actualidad, el conflicto armado (principalmente en las guerrillas) ha ido llevando a las mujeres a asumir nuevos roles dentro de estos grupo dejando a un lado la división del trabajo a razón del género, e igualando a los hombres y a las mujeres en las labores que desempeñan, por eso hoy en día, las mujeres cargan fusiles y se declaran combatientes revolucionarios de tiempo completo con los mismos deberes, derechos y responsabilidades que los hombres. (Marón, 2003). La intención principal es analizar cómo la mujer ha ido asumiendo nuevos roles en el conflicto armado, dejando de lado su estatus de víctima y tomando protagonismo en diferentes escenarios como el social, el bélico y el político. De esta manera, se cobra relevancia al mostrar las diferentes esferas en las que la mujer ha actuado, dejando a un lado el enfoque de víctima y combatiente para abrirse a nuevas esferas de poder que les permite tener un papel activo dentro del conflicto y la construcción de paz. Asimismo, le incluye un elemento novedoso que las otras investigaciones han dejado a un lado y es el hecho de ver de una manera integral los roles de las mujeres a raíz del conflicto, no solo cómo lo desempeña sino también qué la llevó a asumir dicho rol. Todo lo anterior dentro de la base de una sociedad patriarcal que ha dado por hecho que la mujer es víctima por su género y que no ha explorado los estadios donde la mujer ha incursionado, en parte gracias al conflicto armado

Mutation status and immunoglobulin gene rearrangements in patients from northwest and central region of Spain with chronic lymphocytic leukemia

This is an open access article distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution License.-- et al.The aim of this study was to investigate the frequency and mutation status of the immunoglobulin heavy variable chain (IGHV) in a cohort of 224 patients from northwest and central region of Spain diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), and to correlate it with cytogenetic abnormalities, overall survival (OS) and time to first treatment (TTFT). 125 patients had mutated IGHV, while 99 had unmutated IGHV. The most frequently used IGHV family was IGHV3, followed by IGHV1 and IGHV4. The regions IGHV3-30, IGHV1-69, IGHV3-23, and IGHV4-34 were the most commonly used. Only 3.1% of the patients belonged to the subfamily IGHV3-21 and we failed to demonstrate a worse clinical outcome in this subgroup. The IGHV4 family appeared more frequently with mutated pattern, similar to IGHV3-23 and IGHV3-74. By contrast, IGHV1-69 was expressed at a higher frequency in unmutated CLL patients.
