Space Vector Modulation Techniques for Multilevel Converters – a survey
This paper presents a survey of most recent,
simple and efficient Space Vector Modulation algorithms
for multilevel converters. These algorithms avoid
trigonometric and other complex operations, leading to
more simple and cost efficient implementations. They can be
applied to multilevel topologies and present freedom degrees
that can be Exploited in order to optimize system
parameters in the system like: capacitors voltages balancing
or voltage/current ripples. Experimental results are
presented to show the good performance of the algorithms
Current Status of Colonization and Infection by Multiresistant Bacteria in the Spanish Intensive Care Unit: Resistance Zero Program
Current medicine, highly technified, and capable of amazing achievements, is not possible without the support of antibiotics. The problem of antibiotic resistance is almost as old as the antibiotics themselves. But at present, it is a serious threat to public health. We have to fight against antibiotic resistance in the hospital and in the out-of-hospital environment. The Resistance Zero program, promoted by the Spanish Society of Intensive Medicine, has achieved through a multidisciplinary approach with collaboration between doctors, nurses, cleaning staff and microbiologists, to control the colonization and infection by multiresistant germs in the environment of the Intensive Care Unit
The process of vocational guidance in Secondary Schools. The case of Córdoba
Educational orientation is assumed as part of the set of factors that promote the quality
of teaching and is one of the principles that must meet the educational activity. The
institutionalization of the orientation posed by the presence of new professionals in the educational context, and these professionals for guidance, are conceived as agents of
innovation and improving the quality of the educational intervention, which posits that
teaching and counseling at the confluence the same educational intervention.
Throughout the past three years, under the R & D Project "The compulsory school-
work transition: The Guidance Department of the IES and the employment of students
who leave school after Secondary Education (ESO), a research group at the University
of Cordova discusses the priorities of educational guidance in secondary schools, the
work of counselors in the field of academic and professional orientation and perception
of the outgoing students about the information received at their centers.
Exploring the views of the student survey, and the mood and activities of its
practitioners and guide through qualitative interviews reveal that the trajectories of
transition and school work are heavily dependent on the economic, social and cultural
origin. Vocations, attitudes and expectations about their future academic work and are
built in a web of social relations with which we must rely on and that we must act
A novel space-vector algorithm for multilevel converters based on geometrical considerations using a new sequence control technique
his paper presents a fast and simple space vector modulation algorithm for voltage source multilevel converters for calculating the switching times and the space vectors using simple geometrical considerations. This method provides the nearest switching vectors sequence to the reference vector and calculates the on-state durations of the respective switching state vectors without involving trigonometric functions, look-up tables or coordinate system transformations which increase the computational load corresponding to the modulation of a multilevel converter. The low computational cost of the proposed method is always the same and it is independent of the number of levels of the converter. In addition, a new switching sequence control technique is presented for reducing the ripple of the DC-link voltage approximately in 66%
Psychometric properties of the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC) in the Spanish population
Although the number of studies in the literature on the psychometric properties of the CD-RISC measures is remarkably high, there is still a great lack of consensus about its internal structure among the general population. Therefore, the aim of this study has been threefold: to analyze the psychometric properties, explore the factorial structure and calculate percentiles of the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC) for a sample of the Spanish population. For this purpose, the study sample consisted of 1119 participants consisting of 324 males and 795 females and they completed the following scales: CD-RISC, Perceived Stress Scale, Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support, General Self-Efficacy Scale, Stress Vulnerability Inventory, Personality Hardiness Questionnaire and the anxiety and depression subscales of the SCL-90-R. In terms of reliability, an adequate Cronbach's coefficient alpha value of .86 was obtained. The evidence for the validity of the internal structure supports the unidimensionality of the CD-RISC measurements, as well as confirming the expec-ted theoretical relationships and correlating with the described measures in the expected direction. Satisfactory results are obtained in the present study that reinforce the usefulness and precision of this scale for its application using the Spanish population, presenting percentiles that can provide guidance in the interpretation and use of the scores with respect to its application in both research and clinical practiceAunque el número de estudios sobre las propiedades psicométricas de la CD-RISC es notablemente amplio, aún hay gran falta de consenso sobre su estructura interna en población general.
Isolation and characterization of microsatellite loci in the Charal de Xochimilco Chirostoma humboldtianum
AbstractMicrosatellite loci were isolated and characterized for the endemic fish Chirostoma humboldtianum using an enrichment procedure. Eight polymorphic microsatellites were genotyped for 32 - 48 individuals from Tepuxtepec Dam, Michoacán. The number of alleles per locus ranged from 3 to 11 and the average observed and expected heterozygosities were 0.61 and 0.63, respectively. All loci deviated significantly from Hardy-Weinberg expectations, which might be related to small population sizes associated to human disturbances and habitat loss. These are the first loci described for the species and the genus and could be useful in studies of population genetics, conservation and management of the species
