PENGGUNAAN EKSTRAK KAYU SECANG DAN KOL UNGU PADA MEDIA MANITOL SALT AGAR UNTUK MENUMBUHKAN Staphylococcus

Mannitol Salt Agar (MSA) is a selective and differential medium for isolating Stapylococcus bacteria, distinguishing Staphylococcus aureus bacteria from other species from the ability of mannitol to ferment which changes the color of the phenol red indicator from red to yellow. The use of synthetic indicators that are not environmentally friendly and difficult to decompose can be replaced with natural indicators, including the use of secang wood extract (Caesalpinia sappan L.) and purple cabbage (Brasicca oleraceae). The research was conducted using a descriptive method which describes the color changes of the modified mannitol salt agar (MSA) media of secang wood and purple cabbage extract after being planted with bacteria. Staphylococcus aureus and Coagulation Negative Staphylococcus (CoNS) bacteria were isolated from acne-prone skin. The growth of Staphylococus aureus changed the color of the modified MSA medium from red to yellow for the secang wood extract and the color change from blue to pink for the purple cabbage extract. The growth of CoNS bacteria changed the color of the modified MSA medium from red to red-orange for the secang wood extract and the color change from blue to blue-purple for the purple cabbage extract. Both bacteria thrived on purple cabbage modified MSA media. From this study, it was concluded that secang wood extract and purple cabbage could be used as natural indicators of modified MSA in growing Staphylococcus isolated from the skin

Growth  and development as well as the fulfillment of all necessities of life are absolutely necessary for a child who is the next generation. In fact, it is not uncommon for a crime or crime to be committed against children. In fact, in some cases where there are criminal acts of violence both physically and psychologically, it is carried out by the closest environment in the child's life, namely his own family. This study discusses the causes of a child becoming a victim of violence in the family by using victimology in its approach. This is necessary so that in the future the state within the existing legal system can protect the rights of children who are victims of criminal acts of physical and psychological violence in their family. This type of legal research is a type of normative legal research, which aims to review the provisions of positive law in this case criminal law as a source of law. The problem approach in legal research uses the statutory approach, carried out by reviewing existing laws and regulations relating to the legal issues being discussed. UJI ANTIBAKTERI EKSTRAK ETANOL DAUN SALAM (Syzygium polyanthum) DATARAN TINGGI DAN RENDAH TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN Salmonella sp.

Tifoid merupakan salah satu penyakit yang ditularkan oleh bakteri Salmonella sp. Pengobatan penyakit ini, salah satunya dengan menggunakan antibiotik kloramfenikol. Namun, kloramfenikol mempunyai cara kerja yang dapat mengakibatkan kerusakan pada sumsum tulang belakang sehingga pembuatan sel–sel darah merah tergganggu. Alternatif yang bisa digunakan adalah daun salam sebagai antibakteri yang memiliki kandungan bioaktif  seperti flavonoid, saponin dan tanin. Daun salam merupakan tanaman yang dapat tumbuh di dataran rendah sampai dataran tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan efektivitas ekstrak daun salam dataran tinggi dan rendah terhadap pertumbuhan Salmonella sp. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode deksriptif kuantitatif. Daun salam diperoleh dari 4 desa dataran tinggi dan 4 desa dataran rendah yang berada di wilayah Kabupaten Garut. Hasil penelitian menunjukan kemampuan menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Salmonella sp. dari ekstrak etanol daun salam yang tumbuh di dataran rendah rata-rata 27.55 mm dan dataran tinggi 21,06 mm. Dari penelitian tersebut, disimpulkan bahwa efektivitas antibakteri ekstrak daun salam (Syzygium polyanthum) dataran rendah lebih besar dibandingkan dataran tinggiterhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Salmonella sp. dengan perbedaan signifikan. Kata kunci:  antibakteri, dataran tinggi, dataran rendah,Salmonella sp. dan  Syzygium polyanthum

An analysis of idioms in The Five People You Meet In Heaven By Mitch Albom

When reading literary works, writer found types of idioms. One of the drama books which has many idioms and their types is The Five People You Meet in Heaven written by Mitch Albom. The idioms are very difficult to be understood because idiom is a group of words with a special meaning which cannot be understood by taking the meanings of the words one at time. Based on the problem above, finally the writer decided to propose the tittle of the paper “An Analysis of Idioms in The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom.” In this research, there are two statements of problems: (1) What are the types of idiom in The Five People You Meet in Heaven? (2) What are the meanings of idiom in The Five People You Meet in Heaven? So that, the purpose of this research are: (1) To find the types of idiom in The Five People You Meet in Heaven. (2) To find out the meaning from the idiom phrase in The Five People You Meet in Heaven. In this research, the researcher uses qualitative method because qualitative method is the most suitable method in this research. In order to find the answers of those two discussions, the writer uses the theories that related to the study of idiom and meaning especially the theories that focus on types of idiom and meaning. Then, related to idiom theory, the writer uses Seidl and Mcmordie. Afterwards, the researcher uses the theory of meaning from Kridalaksana and Langlotz that connotative meaning is a group of word that is based on feeling or mind that appear or being appeared to the narrator (writer) and audience (reader). The result of finding and analysis shows that there are 53 kinds of idiom in the “The Five People You Meet in Heaven” novel. All of them are looked for according to the types of idiom and the classifications of idiom. Those idioms are also interpreted into their connotative meaning based on the context of sentence in the novel. In this case, to translate idioms are not only look for them by using dictionary but also see the context of sentence contained idioms. Furthermore, the meaning of idioms in the sentence cannot be translated word for word, because they mean something different from the individual words when they stand alone and the meaning of idioms depend on the context or sentence it. Therefore, the writer concludes that the research from “The Five People You Meet in Heaven” is that many idioms appear and it influences the comprehension of sentence. Finally, the writer suggest that the reader who studies of language to develop this research of idioms to be more interesting in the next discussion

Aktivitas Jamaah Majelis Taklim As-Syifa Walmahmudiyah Desa Sayati dalam Studi Interaksionisme Simbolik

 The purpose of this article is to examine the activities of the Jamaah Majelis Taklim As-Syifa Walmahmudiyyah in Sayati Village in the study of symbolic interactionism. Using the paradigm of Interpretivism in the approach of symbolic interactionism theory refers to, George Herbet Mead. This research is within the discipline of qualitative research. The focus in this research is how to interpret mind-concept (Mind) self-concept and social interaction (Society) of Jamaah Majelis Taklim As-Syifa Walmahmudiyah. The results showed that the recitation activity was a proselytizing activity that was beneficial for the thoughts, self, and social life of the congregation. Activities that have become a tradition of the As-Syifa Walmahmudiyah recitation congregational taklim assembly are recitation activities that have a unique character. The recitation activities held were unusual, namely the time for the recitation from ba'da Isya at 20.00 until dawn. The implementation of the recitation has become a positive habit for the congregation and the surrounding community. PENERAPAN METODE EKSPERIMEN SEBAGAI ALTERNATIF SOLUSI UNTUK MENINGKATKAN PEMAHAMAN KONSEP PADA MATA PELAJARAN IPA SISWA SEKOLAH DASAR

Pemahaman konsep adalah kemampuan yang ditunjukan siswa untuk menguasai dan mengungkapkan kembali suatu pemikiran atau gagasan yang berkaitan dengan materi-materi pelajaran dengan bahasa sendiri. Dalam proses penanaman pemahaman konsep IPA, penentuan siswa harus dibiasakan untuk melaksanakan eksperimen, observasi, mengumpulkan data, menguji konsep dan menarik suatu kesimpulan. Dengan kata lain setelah melakukan pembelajaran, siswa dapat melaksanakan atau mengaplikasikan apa-apa yang dipelajarinya di sekolah dalam kehidupan nyata atau kehidupan sehari-harinnya atau dalam istilah pendidikan disebut dampak pengiring. Metode Eksperimen adalah cara penyajian materi pembelajaran yang melibatkan siswa untuk melakukan sebuah percobaan agar siswa mampu memecahkan suatu persoalan dan membuktikan sendiri suatu hipotesis. Dengan melakukan eksperimen siswa menjadi lebih yakin atas hasil yang didapatkan dari pada hanya sekedar menerima materi dari guru atau buku pembelajaran, dengan eksperimen siswa condong akan lebih aktif dan hasil belajar pun akan jauh lebih di ingat. Dalam menggunakan metode Eksperimen terdapat tahapan yang harus dilakukan untuk mengetahui proses pembelajaran diantaranya tahapan perencanaan meliputi sarana dan prasarana penelitian serta menentukan indikator kinerja, tahap pelaksanaan tindakan meliputi melakukan penerapan langkah-langkah metode Eksperimen pada siswa sekolah dasar, dan tahapan pengamatan meliputi mengumpulan data berupa nilai evaluasi keterampilan pemahaman konsep setelah mendapatkan tindakan, menganalisis data dan melakukan wawancara kepada guru. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode Eksperimen dapat dijadikan sebagai solusi untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep pada mata pelajaran IPA siswa di Sekolah Dasar
