    Homoclinic bifurcations in low-Prandtl-number Rayleigh-B\'{e}nard convection with uniform rotation

    We present results of direct numerical simulations on homoclinic gluing and ungluing bifurcations in low-Prandtl-number (0≤Pr≤0.025 0 \leq Pr \leq 0.025 ) Rayleigh-B\'{e}nard system rotating slowly and uniformly about a vertical axis. We have performed simulations with \textit{stress-free} top and bottom boundaries for several values of Taylor number (5≤Ta≤505 \leq Ta \leq 50) near the instability onset. We observe a single homoclinic ungluing bifurcation, marked by the spontaneous breaking of a larger limit cycle into two limit cycles with the variation of the reduced Rayleigh number rr for smaller values of Ta(<25)Ta (< 25). A pair of homoclinic bifurcations, instead of one bifurcation, is observed with variation of rr for slightly higher values of TaTa (25≤Ta≤5025 \leq Ta \leq 50) in the same fluid dynamical system. The variation of the bifurcation threshold with TaTa is also investigated. We have also constructed a low-dimensional model which qualitatively captures the dynamics of the system near the homoclinic bifurcations for low rotation rates.     ROI Based Quality Access Control of Compressed Color Image using DWT via Lifting

    Region-of-Interest (ROI) in an image or video signal contains important information and may be used for access control at various qualities using multiresolution analysis (MRA). This paper proposes a novel quality access control method of compressed color image by modulating the coefficients of ROI at various levels. Data modulation causes visual degradation in the original image and plays the key role in access control through reversible process. The modulation information, in the form of a secret key, is embedded in non-ROI part of the chrominance blue (Cb) channel of the color image using quantization index modulation (QIM). Lifting based DWT, rather than conventional DWT, is used to decompose the original image in order to achieve two-fold advantages, namely (1) better flexibility and low loss in image quality due to QIM and (2) better decoding reliability that leads to better access control. Only the authorized users having the full knowledge of the secret key restore the full quality of ROI. Simulation results duly support this claims

    Domain walls in Born-Infeld-dilaton background

    We study the dynamics of domain walls in Einstein-Born-Infeld-dilaton theory. Dilaton is non-trivially coupled with the Born-Infeld electromagnetic field. We find three different types of solutions consistent with the dynamic domain walls. For every case, the solutions have singularity. Further more, in these backgrounds, we study the dynamics of domain walls. We qualitatively plot various form of the bulk metrics and the potential encountered by the domain walls. In many cases, depending upon the value of the parameters, the domain walls show bouncing universe and also undergo inflationary phase followed by standard decelerated expansion.Comment: 18 pages,6 figures,latex, References added, Some points clarifie
