Soliton cellular automata constructed from a Uq(Dn[1])-crystal Bn,1 and kirillov-reshetikhin type bijection for Uq(E6[1])-crystal B6,1

In part 1 we study a class of cellular automata associated with the Kirillov-Reshetikhin crystal B n;1 of type D (1) n . They have a commuting family of time evolutions and solitons of length l are labeled by U q (A (1) n1 )-crystal B 2;l A . The scattering rule of two solitons of lengths l 1 and l 2 (l 1 > l ) including the phase shift is identified with the combinatorial R-matrix for the U q 2 (A (1) n1 )-crystal B 2;l A 2 B 2;l A 1 . In part 2 we consider the Kirrilov-Reshetikhin crystal B 6;1 for the exceptional affine type E . We will give a conjecture on a statistic-preserving bijection between the highest weight paths consisting of B 6;1 and the corresponding rigged configuration. The algorithm only uses the structure of the crystal graph, hence could also be applied for other exceptional types. Our B 6;1 has a different algorithm compared our B 1;1 because we must consider the element Ø, unique element in the highest weight crystal of weight 0, in the crystal graph. We will give many examples supporting the conjecture. (1)

The actions of 0-Kashiwara operators on the Uq(G2(1))U'_q(G_2^{(1)})-crystal BlB_l in [Yamane S., J. Algebra 210 (1998), 440-486] are made explicit by using a similarity technique from that of a Uq(D4(3))U'_q(D_4^{(3)})-crystal. It is shown that {Bl}l1\{B_l\}_{l\ge1} forms a coherent family of perfect crystals

Comparative study on the effectiveness of building maintenance scheduling between two multipurpose hall buildings

    Get PDF
Buildings maintenance is very important for the building and building occupants. Maintenance is a service to make sure the performance of the building in good condition throughout its design life. It is very much needed so we can have very good environment that can help us do our work peacefully. Occupants demand to have priority in terms of comfort of ability to use and utilise the facilities and services as it must be fit for purpose of the user. Work productivity of workers may be demotivated and interrupted due to poor building facilities conditions. In order to prevent that, we have to make sure the building maintenance scheduling are well prepared and followed. This study is about comparative study on the effectiveness of building maintenance scheduling between two multipurpose hall buildings. The objectives of the case study are to investigate the procedure of building maintenance scheduling for the buildings, compare the maintenance scheduling approach between the two multipurpose hall buildings and suggest the best method to practice in the development of building maintenance. This investigation will be carried out through field study and interview from both building. At the end of this study, the data for analysis from the interview have been gathered and it shows that both building are using the same maintenance approaches. Discussion has been explained to provide the comparison for the effectiveness of building maintenance scheduling for both building. Both buildings had made improvement in the building to overcome the building defects and increase the building performance. The buildings have been properly maintain in order to keep it well perform. Some recommendations have been suggested for the future used in having effective building maintenance scheduling. The results from this study are the effectiveness of building maintenance scheduling for both multipurpose buildings have been properly studied and investigated

Soil profile at dynamic compaction area in Kerteh, Terengganu / Mahathir Mohamad

Dynamic Compaction (DC) is a recognized and an accepted technique for stabilization of loose or granular soil conditions. This method has been used to improve bearing capacity. The technique involves dropping weights from cranes at specified heights. The purpose of dropping the weight is to transmit compaction energy to the soil mass for densification. This method works best in loose sands, fills, rubble, and landfills (Vipulanandan, 1998). This study was done to find out the fine content of soil improved by dynamic compaction. The sampled soil obtained adjacent to Kemaman-Kertih Railway track by using wet borehole technique. The borehole was driven at 12 different locations. For each borehole, the sample was collected at every 0.5 m interval until sufficient 1Kg was sampled and depth reached 7.5 m. Based on BS 1377, laboratory testing procedures such as for moisture content, wet sieve and dry sieve were conducted to determine the moisture content as well as soil classification. Laboratory testing took place at UiTM Pulau Pinang Laboratory. The percentages of fine content for every chainage were calculated and the soil profiles at study area were drawn by AUTOCAD. Based on result, the relationship between soil profile and suitability of ground improvement technique was discussed

Interview with Mahathir bin Mohamad, conducted 12th May 2014 in Putrajaya as part of the Commonwealth Oral History Project. The project aims to produce a unique digital research resource on the oral history of the Commonwealth since 1965 through sixty oral history interviews with leading figures in the recent history of the organisation. It will provide an essential research tool for anyone investigating the history of the Commonwealth and will serve to promote interest in and understanding of the organisation. Biography: bin Mohamad, Mahathir. 1925- . Born in Alor Setar, British Malaya (now Malaysia). Graduated from the University of Malaya, 1947. Practiced as a medical doctor before entering politics with the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) in the 1950s. Elected to Parliament in 1964 elections. Appointed as a Senator in 1973. Minister for Education, 1974-77. Minister of Trade and Industry, 1978-81. 4th Prime Minister of Malaysia, 1981-2003, also acting as: Minister of Defence, 1981-86; Minister of Home Affairs, 1986-99; Minister of Finance, 1998-99, 2001-03. An overview of OSH management systems in the water service project

    Get PDF
Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Management System is a part of the management system that facilitates the management of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) risks. The water services industry is a high-risk industry that deals with complex engineering construction, chemical use, water supply and people. The increasing number of accidents and fatality, including those derive from risk-injury and work-related disease requires organisations to implement OSH Management System. This paper reviews the OSH Management System in the water services in Klang Valley. The finding shows that there is a need for OSH Management System due to the high impact towards the stakeholders and third parties, such as consumers, environment, authority and the top management. This paper concludes the reason on why OSH Management System is very important in relation to the lack of awareness towards safety, health and environment in the workplace area
