An approach to the Contextual Design methodology in the context of Information

Based on an operative definition of Information Science (IS) as a study of the mediation aspects of the phenomena: data, information, knowledge and message, and their implementation in the cultural domain, the potential of Contextual Design (CD) as a methodology for the development of optimized interfaces between information resources and users is analyzed. The goals are (i) to identify papers that address or make use of the CD methodology in databases related to IS; (ii) to describe the approaches to the concept of CD in those papers; (iii) to point out the potentials and limitations of this methodology. We draw an exploratory / descriptive study based on a systematic review and categorical analysis. Eight papers were retrieved, being a possible indicator of the reduced use of the methodology, in the IS area, the same is essentially practical. Although the limitation of non-involvement of users throughout the design process is pointed out, the methodology shows the ability to collect implicit information through user activities and the possibility of shared systematization of complex data. These characteristics make CD a potential value for the development of appropriate interfaces between information resources and their users

Neste relatório apresentam-se os resultados obtidos na terceira campanha de trabalhos arqueológicos realizada em São Gião da Nazaré, nos meses de Abril e Setembro de 2002, no âmbito do projecto de conservação, estudo e valorização do referido monumento, promovido pelo Instituto Português do Património Arquitectónico / IPPAR

O presente Relatório Preliminar decorre dos trabalhos arqueológicos de leitura estratigráfica de alçados da Igreja Velha de São Mamede de Vila Verde, Felgueiras, efectuados no âmbito do programa de intervenção no monumento promovido pela Direcção Regional de Edifícios e Monumentos do Norte. Trata-se de uma primeira leitura da evolução arquitectónica do edifício, cuja apresentação se entendeu dever antecipar no sentido de facultar ao Arquitecto responsável a informação necessária ao desenvolvimento do projecto. Apesar de não se tratar do estudo definitivo, pretende-se que este relatório já sirva de referência para fundamentar as opções de conservação e valorização, com base na caracterização sintética das principais fases construtivas identificadas, que se descrevem e ilustram no capítulo seguinte, oferecendo uma síntese interpretativa da evolução arquitectónica. Nas conclusões recomendamos algumas actuações específicas, na perspectiva da interpretação valorizada do monumento

The cinema in the task based English teaching: the development of a task cycle using the film-letter genre

Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo refletir sobre o desenvolvimento de um ciclo de tarefas (ELLIS, 2003, 2006), que busca trabalhar com o cinema em sala de aula de língua inglesa. Acredita-se que o Ensino de Línguas Baseado em Tarefas (ELBT) possa auxiliar a explorar o cinema em sala de aula de maneira a potencializar o desenvolvimento das habilidades comunicativas dos aprendizes de língua inglesa. Para tanto, foi escolhido o gênero cinematográfico filme-carta que compôs a tarefa principal do ciclo, servindo também como base para a sua criação. Após desenvolvido, o ciclo foi avaliado por (futuros) professores de Letras Inglês acerca da sua aplicabilidade. Os resultados desta pesquisa nos ajudaram a entender os potenciais do ELBT no ensino de língua inglesa e, ainda, analisar a eficácia do uso do cinema como uma ferramenta pedagógica a partir da abordagem de tarefas. This article analyzes the development of a task cycle (ELLIS, 2003, 2006), which intends to work with cinema in the English Language classroom. We believe that the Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT) can assist in exploring the use of cinema in the classroom to enhance the development of communication skills. Therefore, we chose the cinematographic genre film-letter to be part of the main task of the cycle of tasks. After its design, the future English teachers could assess the task cycle. The results helped us understand the potentials of TBLA in English language teaching and, even more, analyze the effectiveness of using cinema as a pedagogical tool through tasks
