    Synchronization of decentralized event-triggered uncertain switched neural networks with two additive time-varying delays

    This paper addresses the problem of synchronization for decentralized event-triggered uncertain switched neural networks with two additive time-varying delays. A decentralized eventtriggered scheme is employed to determine the time instants of communication from the sensors to the central controller based on narrow possible information only. In addition, a class of switched neural networks is analyzed based on the Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional method and a combined linear matrix inequality (LMI) technique and average dwell time approach. Some sufficient conditions are derived to guarantee the exponential stability of neural networks under consideration in the presence of admissible parametric uncertainties. Numerical examples are provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the obtained results.&nbsp

    Marketing information service has been recognized as key for success in marketing of perishable commodities. Effort has been made to improve access to market information to all stakeholders involved in marketing of horticultural crops. Current study is an attempt in this direction to review various modes of such information support and also to highlight the effort made by premier institution like Indian Institute of Horticultural Research. Web application has been developed for Market information to display the data as Interactive graphs. Data for the study includes the month-wise arrival and price information of different horticultural commodities from different markets for a period of ten years. This is collected from primary sources such as District -wise, Marketwise and secondary sources such as NHB, NHRDF etc., the data were tabulated and uploaded to Microsoft SQL server database through customized CMS module. Further, the price arrival data has been translated to the Interactive Charts by programs developed using Microsoft Visual studio. NET technologies, which is a relatively new addition to IIHR website. Interactive Charts are used for drilling down for more information on price and arrivals. It consists of several interactive components like zoom, compare etc. Zoom component of the chart enables the user to zoom the graph to read the price trend prevailed in market in detail, which cannot be possible on Basic Chart. The Compare option allows user to compare price data with several other markets. The farmers and traders will get the advantage of taking precise decisions regarding choice of time and place for sale of their produce using this information system. Further, lean, peak stabilization periods prevailing in various markets enable farmers to schedule the cultivation plans

    BACKGROUND: Folate is essential for cellular proliferation and tissue regeneration. As mammalian cells cannot synthesize folates de novo, tightly regulated cellular uptake processes have evolved to sustain sufficient levels of intracellular tetrahydrofolate cofactors to support biosynthesis of purines, pyrimidines, and some amino acids (serine, methionine). Though reduced-folate carrier (RFC) is one of the major proteins mediating folate transport, knowledge of the developmental expression of RFC is lacking. We utilized in situ hybridization and immunolocalization to determine the developmental distribution of RFC message and protein, respectively. RESULTS: In the mouse, RFC transcripts and protein are expressed in the E10.0 placenta and yolk sac. In the E9.0 to E11.5 mouse embryo RFC is widely detectable, with intense signal localized to cell populations in the neural tube, craniofacial region, limb buds and heart. During early development, RFC is expressed throughout the eye, but by E12.5, RFC protein becomes localized to the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE). CONCLUSIONS: Clinical studies show a statistical decrease in the number of neural tube defects, craniofacial abnormalities, cardiovascular defects and limb abnormalities detected in offspring of female patients given supplementary folate during pregnancy. The mechanism, however, by which folate supplementation ameliorates the occurrence of developmental defects is unclear. The present work demonstrates that RFC is present in placenta and yolk sac and provides the first evidence that it is expressed in the neural tube, craniofacial region, limb buds and heart during organogenesis. These findings suggest that rapidly dividing cells in the developing neural tube, craniofacial region, limb buds and heart may be particularly susceptible to folate deficiency

    Several studies have successfully used fly-ash (FA)-like waste material for the manufacturing of geopolymer concrete (GPC). This study uses gene expression programming (GEP), a type of soft computing approach, to produce an empirical equation that estimates the compressive strength fc0 of GPC using FA. Through a thorough analysis of the published research, a consistent, large, and trustworthy data set is assembled in order to develop a model. 298 fc0 experimental outcomes make up the collected data set. The following are considered explanatory variables: the amount of extra water added as percent FA (%EW), the percentage of plasticizer (%P), the initial curing temperature (T), the specimen's age (A), the curing duration (t), the ratio of fine aggregate to total aggregate (F/AG), the percentage of total aggregate by volume (%AG), the molarity of the NaOH solution, the activator or alkali to FA ratio (AL/FA), the ratio of sodium oxide (Na2O) to water (N/W) for preparing Na2SiO3 solution, and the ratio of Na2SiO3 to NaOH (Ns/No). An empirical GEP equation is put forth to calculate the fc0 of GPC using FA. The suggested model's precision, applicability, and forecasting capacity were assessed using parametric analysis, statistical verification, and a comparison with both linear and non-linear regression equations

    Protein hydrolysates from boarfish (Capros aper) and Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) skin gelatin improve metabolic control in genetically obese diabetic (ob/ob) mice

    There is increasing interest in dietary protein for management of Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and obesity. The effects of twice-daily oral administration of a salmon skin gelatin hydrolysate (SSGH, 50 mg/kg), boarfish protein hydrolysate (BPH, (50 mg/kg), metformin (200 mg/kg), or saline control, were investigated in ob/ob mice. Non-fasting blood glucose was significantly reduced with SSGH (p < 0.01), BPH (p < 0.001) and metformin (p < 0.001), which were reflected in reductions in glycated haemoglobin (HbA1c) (p < 0.001, p < 0.01 and p < 0.01, respectively). Responses to oral and intraperitoneal glucose tolerance were improved (p < 0.05–0.01), as well as circulating plasma lipid profiles (p < 0.05–0.001). Chronic BPH treatment increased circulating plasma insulin (p < 0.01), whereas SSGH improved insulin sensitivity (p < 0.05), versus respective controls. All treatments significantly reduced energy intake (p < 0.05–0.001) versus (ob/ob) controls, without affecting overall bodyweight. These findings suggest that fish hydrolysates mediate potent anti-diabetic actions similar to metformin and might be suitable for the management and prevention of T2DM
