Objective: to evaluate the pelvic floor muscles and the incidence of pelvic organ prolapse among indigenous women who live in Xingu Indian Park, Mato Grosso, Brazil.
Methods: observational study with 377 indigenous women, mean age 31+/-15 years, mean gravity 5+/-4, mean parity 4+/-3 and mean body mass index 23,3+/-4 Kg/m2. The Pelvic Organ Prolapse Quantification (POP-Q) was the system used to quantification the staging of pelvic support and the pelvic floor muscle strength was assessed by a perineometer. Logistic regression was used to determine odds ratios and 95% CI for factors that were associated with prolapse.
Results: The overall distribution of POP-Q stage system was the following: 15,6% stage 0, 19,4% stage I, 63,9% stage II and 0,8% stage III. Parity (OR=9.40, 95% CI 2.81-31,42) and age (OR=1,03, 95% IC 1,01-1,05) were the most important risk factors for pelvic organ prolapse. The high resting pressure was considered as a protecting factor (OR=0,96, 95% IC 0,94-0,98).
Conclusions: Like non indigenous community, age and the parity were the most important risk factors to the genital prolapse; however the pelvic floor muscles strength were intact, maybe due to the indigenous lifestyle

Data security is very important in the digital era, this makes it an important issue for companies, organizations and educational institutions. Such as the Open Journal System (OJS) security which is useful for managing online journals. Abdurrab University has utilized the Open Journal System (OJS) to manage published journals. However, the management of the Open Journal System (OJS) security has not been managed properly, such as Abdurrab's Open Journal System (OJS) which has been hacked, there is still a lack of documentation and system security procedures and has never been assessed the level of capability of the information system so that it is not known exactly the level of security management of the Open Journal System (OJS) at Abdurrab University. This study aims to assess the capability level of Abdurrab University's Open Journal System (OJS) using the COBIT 5 domain DSS05 framework and Process Assessment Model (PAM) to assess system capabilities and guide IT management and provide effective and efficient recommendations. The results of the study obtained a questionnaire calculation value of 2.40 with Process Attribute Level domain DSS05 PA 2.1 Performance Management and PA 2.2 Work Product Management until an achievement score of 63.33% was obtained which was included in the Largely Achieved category with achievements at level 2 (Managed Process). The conclusion of this study is that the level of security capabilities of the Open Journal System (OJS) of Abdurrab University needs to be increased to level 3 (Established Process) because it has not been fully met, so that this research can be used as a reference for improvement by Abdurrab University

Non-surgical Treatment of Periodontal Diseases: Responsibilities of the Dentist and the Patient in Periodontal Therapy

Periodontal diseases, throughout history, remain among the most prevalent in humans. Despite the notable scientific advances in the knowledge of its etiology and pathophysiology, its clinical forms, diagnosis and corresponding treatment, the most transcendental stage has yet to be completed: making not only patients in particular, but the entire community aware of the need for surveillance and prevention of periodontal diseases in children, adolescents and adults. Developing a wide-ranging periodic program, with effective and sufficient procedures to anticipate the onset of periodontal diseases, would mean enormous economic savings in the public health budget of the countries. Periodontal diseases can be avoided with simple measures and procedures: correct brushing and good use of dental floss. Both practices would be enough to prevent periodontal diseases in millions of people around the planet. It is a challenge for dental professionals to achieve, through appropriate teaching techniques, that their patients learn these notions and their benefits, thus gradually turning them into essential and daily tasks. The basic objective of promotion and prevention is precisely to ensure that the information produces changes in individual oral hygiene habits

Atomic arrangement and mechanical properties of chemical vapor deposited amorphous boron

Amorphous boron fiber has been widely used as a reinforcement filler in aerospace resin-matrix composites due to its high strength and high elastic modulus. However, its mechanical properties have not been measured accurately due to intrinsic issues during fabrication. Amorphous boron is most commonly produced in singlefilament reactors by chemical vapor deposition of boron on tungsten wire, and the final product is a core-shell wire with a tungsten boride core and amorphous boron shell. Traditionally, wire tension tests of the composite fiber or hollow amorphous boron fiber have been conducted but this method would underestimate the strength due to the greater probability of defects along the long wire. Micropillar compression and tension testing enable us to determine mechanical properties of small materials accurately. In addition, the local atomic arrangement in amorphous boron has not been clearly understood because of the complexity in its amorphous structure. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct advanced transmission electron microscopy (TEM) to analyze the local structure at atomic resolution. Please download the PDF file for full content

Necrotizing periodontal Diseases and Conditions in 1999 are two: Necrotizing gingivitis (NG) and Necrotizing periodontitis (NP). Necrotizing stomatitis (NE) is a more aggressive variation, which can be linked to the two entities mentioned. In this review we discuss their definitions, etiology, clinical aspects, diagnosis and treatment, trying to clarify these points with updated concepts

Thermal expansion, heat capacity and magnetostriction of RAl3_3 (R = Tm, Yb, Lu) single crystals

We present thermal expansion and longitudinal magnetostriction data for cubic RAl3 (R = Tm, Yb, Lu) single crystals. The thermal expansion coefficient for YbAl3 is consistent with an intermediate valence of the Yb ion, whereas the data for TmAl3 show crystal electric field contributions and have strong magnetic field dependencies. de Haas-van Alphen-like oscillations were observed in the magnetostriction data of YbAl3 and LuAl3, several new extreme orbits were measured and their effective masses were estimated. Zero and 140 kOe specific heat data taken on both LuAl3 and TmAl3 for T < 200 K allow for the determination of a CEF splitting scheme for TmAl3
