A note about isothermic surfaces in Rn−j,j

    Get PDF
In this note we survey our results on the description of ti-melike isothermic surfaces in Rn-j,j using the Grassmannian systems or U/K-systems. We give the natural extensions of the definition of Ribaucour and Darboux transformations for timelike isothermic surfaces and review how those transformations correspond to dressing actions of suitable simple elements.      &nbsp

On the reduction of the degree of linear differential operators

Let L be a linear differential operator with coefficients in some differential field k of characteristic zero with algebraically closed field of constants. Let k^a be the algebraic closure of k. For a solution y, Ly=0, we determine the linear differential operator of minimal degree M and coefficients in k^a, such that My=0. This result is then applied to some Picard-Fuchs equations which appear in the study of perturbations of plane polynomial vector fields of Lotka-Volterra type

Bjorling Problem for Timelike Surfaces in the Lorentz-Minkowski Space

    Get PDF
We solve the Bjorling problem for timelike surfaces in the Lorentz-Minkowski space through a split-complex representation formula obtained for this kind of surface. Our approach uses the split-complex numbers and natural split-holomorphic extensions. As applications, we show that the minimal timelike surfaces of revolution as well as minimal ruled timelike surfaces can be characterized as solutions of certain adequate Bjorling problems in the Lorentz-Minkowski space

Electronic health record (EHR) rapid progress for reporting electronic data storage that employs uniform data standards will enable health care organizations to respond more quickly to federal state, and private reporting requirements, including those that support patient safety and disease surveillance. An examination of many hospitals that recently implemented in King Saudi Arabia (KSA). A little of electronic health record (EHR) system finds that clinical and administrative leaders built EHR adoption into their strategic plans to integrate, inpatient and outpatient care system and a provide  continuum of coordinated services. Using Relational Data Base Management Systems (RDBMS) with eXtend Marker Language (XML) Systems and ASP.NET as web based system. Successful implementation depended on: strong leadership, full involvement of clinical staff in design and implementation, mandatory staff training, and strict adherence to timeline and budget. The EHR systems facilitate patient safety and quality development through; use of checklists, alerts, and predictive tools embedded clinical guidelines that promote standardized, evidence-based practices electronic prescribing and test-ordering that reduces errors and redundancy and discrete data fields that foster use of performance dashboards and compliance reports. The proposed system will be developed using ASP.NET as a technology of web based system. In this paper; most of the services, enjoyed on the Web are provided by web database applications and using .net technology. Such as, Web-based email, online shopping, forums and bulletin boards, corporate web sites, and sports and news portals are all database-driven. The main goals in this work, building a modern web site of electronic health record system in KSA hospitals. Keywords: XML, RDBMS, EHR , EMR, EPR, GIS, PH

Development Of Health Care Systems in Subareas of KSA Using GIS Concept

The present study was directed to show how Geographical Information Systems (GIS) can be used to support health planning and demanding on a micro-scale and explore the possibilities of using GIS for health care services in hospitals in Saudi Arabia subareas. The first part of this work explained the issues that affect a local health care planning and monitoring of catchment area and facilities management. Each one of these issues was covered using several GIS functions including network analysis and spatial data analysis. The second part defined GIS and its possible application in the health care field. In this section, the relevant GIS functions have also been explained. In response, alternative sources were used, such as Google Earth, printed maps and information gathered on the ground by GPS. The third part discussed the creation and implementation of GIS application models, which was made for a local health care center in Makah AlMokaramah region and Taif city in Saudi Arabia. All the produced models can be applied in any private or public hospital in Makkahh region and Taif city. They can be used to build a spatial decision making support system for hospitals in Taif region and serves five local health services neighborhoods named as Tarabah, AlKhurma, Rania, Zulam and Al-Moya. The most important results of this research were the determination of geographic locations of healthcare institutions, identifying ways and distances to reach the nearest access roads to these institutions. As well as being able to extract administrative regions on a large number of population, hospitals, health centers, number of beds, number of doctors and number of nurses. One of the recommendations of this research the need of using GIS and GPS (Global Positional System) to determine the locations of health institutions on a number of sites

CXCR 3 expression on CD4+T cells and in renal tissue of pediatric systemic lupus erythematosus patients

Background: Pediatric systemic lupus erythematosus (pSLE) accounts for about 20% of all cases of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE), with nephritis occurring in approximately 50% of the patients. Objective: to evaluate the expression of CXCR3 in the kidneys and on CD4+ T cells in pSLE. Methods: This study was conducted on 45 patients with pSLE following up at the Allergy and Immunology Clinic, Children’s Hospital, Ain Shams University and 45 age and sex matched healthy children as a control group. Medical history, clinical examination and routine laboratory investigations for assessment of disease activity were done for all patients, the frequency of CXCR3, CD4+ T cells was determined in all patients and controls. Twenty-five Paraffin blocks of patients with lupus nephritis (LN) (available at the time of the study) underwent immunohistochemistry staining for the frequencies of Chemokine C receptor (CXCR3). Results: The absolute level and percentage of serum CD4+CXCR3+ were significantly lower among our patients as compared to healthy controls. A significant direct correlation was found between serum CD4+CXCR3+ and both the lymphocytic count and quantitative Systemic Lupus erythematosus disease activity index (SLEDAI), as well as a significant inverse correlation between it and 24 hours urinary proteins. Variable degrees of CXCR3expression seemed to have no impact on laboratory tests, British Isles Lupus Assessment Group (BILAG) score and cumulative doses of Immunosuppressives. Conclusion: Serum CD4+CXCR3+ and not renal CXCR3 may be a potential marker of LN activity

Analysis of power system stability enhancement via excitation and FACTS-based stabilizers

    Get PDF
Power system stability enhancement via excitation and FACTS-based stabilizers is thoroughly investigated in this paper. This study presents a singular value decomposition-based approach to assess and measure the controllability of the poorly damped electromechanical modes by different control inputs. The design problem of a power system stabilizer and different FACTS-based stabilizers is formulated as an optimization problem. An eigenvalue-based objective function to increase the system damping and improve the system response is developed. Then, a real-coded genetic algorithm is employed to search for optimal controller parameters. In addition, the damping characteristics of the proposed schemes are also evaluated in terms of the damping torque coefficient with different loading conditions for better understanding of the coordination problem requirements. The proposed stabilizers are tested on a weakly connected power system with different loading conditions. The damping torque coefficient analysis, nonlinear simulation results, and eigenvalue analysis show the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed control schemes over a wide range of loading conditions

Power system stability enhancement via robust coordinated design of a power system stabilizer (PSS) and a thyristor-controlled series capacitor (TCSC)-based stabilizer is thoroughly investigated in this paper. The coordinated design problem of robust excitation and TCSC-based controllers over a wide range of loading conditions and system configurations is formulated as an optimization problem with an eigenvalue-based objective function. The real-coded genetic algorithm (RCGA) is employed to search for optimal controller parameters. This study also presents a singular value decomposition (SVD)-based approach to assess and measure the controllability of the poorly damped electromechanical modes by different control inputs. The damping characteristics of the proposed control schemes are also evaluated in terms of the damping torque coefficient over a wide range of loading conditions.
