Background: Oligohydramnios can lead to contamination of amniotic fluid, fetal distress, neonatal asphyxia, aspiration pneumonia, increased perinatal mortality and adverse pregnancy outcomes. Because of atypical clinical symptoms, the critical point is to treat patients with oligohydramnios in late pregnancy. The objectives of the research were to study the mode of delivery/rate of operative interference/incidence of cesarean section due to fetal distress/non-reassuring fetal heart rate status in cases of term pregnancy with borderline amniotic fluid index (AFI), and to study the perinatal outcome in cases of term pregnancy with borderline AFI.Methods: The study is a prospective comparative study to be conducted in patients attending antenatal clinic at department of obstetrics and gynaecology, Tirunelveli government medical college hospital from from January 2018 till January 2019 (12 months). Data collected with regards to age, demographic characteristics, and socioeconomic status, detailed history including patient’s complaints, duration of complaints, menstrual and obstetric history, significant past, family and personal history. 265 cases of borderline oligohydramnios were detected of which 150 cases were selected for the study after applying exclusion criteria. Results: APGAR scores between the two groups. The mean APGAR scores of the normal group were 8.3±0.7 and the same of the borderline AFI group was 8.0±0.9. The difference between the means was statistically highly significant (p<0.01).Conclusions: Cumulative analysis of various studies, it will be reasonable to conclude that antepartum surveillance for borderline oligohydramnios is indicated in cases associated with fetal growth restriction or suboptimal fetal growth

Addition is one of the most basic operations performed in all computing units, including microprocessors and digital signal processors. It is also a basic unit utilized in various complicated algorithms of multiplication and division. Efficient implementation of an adder circuit usually revolves around reducing the cost to propagate the carry between successive bit positions. Multi-operand adders are important arithmetic design blocks especially in the addition of partial products of hardware multipliers. The multi-operand adders (MOAs) are widely used in the modern low-power and high-speed portable very-large-scale integration systems for image and signal processing applications such as digital filters, transforms, convolution neural network architecture. Hence, a new high-speed and area efficient adder architecture is proposed using pre-compute bitwise addition followed by carry prefix computation logic to perform the three-operand binary addition that consumes substantially less area, low power and drastically reduces the adder delay. Further, this project is enhanced by using Modified carry bypass adder to further reduce more density and latency constraints. Modified carry skip adder introduces simple and low complex carry skip logic to reduce parameters constraints. In this proposal work, designed binary tree adder (BTA) is analyzed to find the possibilities for area minimization. Based on the analysis, critical path of carry is taken into the new logic implementation and the corresponding design of CSKP are proposed for the BTA with AOI, OAI

    Ciprofloxacin induced fixed drug eruption

Fixed drug eruption (FDE) is a clinical entity occurring in the same site or sites each time the drug is administered. Acute lesions appear as sharply marginated erythematous plaques, which are usually found on lips, genitalia, abdomen, and legs. The eruptions usually occur within hours of administration of the offending agent and resolves spontaneously without scarring after few weeks of onset. Most common drugs causing FDE are sulfonamides, tetracyclines, salicylates, barbiturates, doxycycline, fluconazole, clarithromycin, etc. Ciprofloxacin, a widely used fluoroquinolone antimicrobial, induces cutaneous adverse drug reactions (ADRs) in about 1-2% of treated patients. Urticaria, angioedema, maculopapular exanthems, and photosensitivity are the most frequently documented cutaneous adverse reactions. In this case report, the patient soon after taking ciprofloxacin tablets, developed itching in the lips, palms and in scrotal region. On continuing the treatment, the next day he developed fluid filled lesions over palm, knuckle, and hyperpigmentation. He gives a history of severe itching and rashes in scrotal region. He gives a history of similar complaints in the previous month after taking ciprofloxacin medication. There was no history of intake of any other medication. On examination, bullous lesions and pustules in finger webs, hyperpigmentation on knuckles, and scrotal erosions were seen. In the present case report, the patient presented with FDE immediately after oral administration of ciprofloxacin and got completely cured after stopping the drug and taking adequate treatment. According to the Naranjo’s ADR probability scale (score=8), this ADR is categorized as a “probable” reaction to the drug

Objective: The present study analyzes the antibacterial activity of the natural product. Panchagavya is a term used in Ayurveda to describe five important substances obtained from cow namely Urine, Dung, Milk, Ghee Curd and the natural product of honey. Methods: The sample used as a different concentration of agar well diffusion technique. Results: Among the natural products, honey/100 µl given the maximum zone of inhibition against Staphylococcus aureus (33 mm), Pseudomonas spp. (31 mm), followed by Klebsiella spp. (28 mm)and Escherichia coli (28 mm). The crude extract of Lactobacillussp. (buttermilk and curd) showed the considerable zone of inhibition in all the four isolates such as Pseudomonas spp. Klebsiella spp. followed by Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. There is a considerable zone of inhibition for cow dung was observed only in Staphylococcus aureus. Among the natural products honey, milk, buttermilk was effective. Conclusion: All urine samples were aseptically inoculated on Eosine Methylene Blue agar (EMB), MacConkey Agar and Blood agar and incubated

Mangroves harbour many beneficial microorganisms in their rhizosphere, phyllosphere and endophytically, which forms an ideal ecological habitation for isolating halotolerant endophytic bacteria with unique characteristics. Endophytes can produce numerous bioactive secondary metabolites and phytohormones, which may be directly or in some way beneficial to the host plant.   The present study aimed to identify novel endophytes capable of producing plant growth-promoting substances. The mangrove plants Acanthus ilicifolius L. at Corangi Wildlife Sanctuary were selected, and their leaves and roots were collected for endophyte isolation. Eight isolates from the leaves and roots were collected, purified and preserved. All these isolates were subjected to morphological, phenotypical and biochemical studies. Isolates were grown best at 3% NaCl nutrient agar and could tolerate salinity upto 8%NaCl. Most of them could grow upto 42°C. The majority were gram’s positive, motile, aerobic, rod-shaped and some were gram’s negative, rod-shaped organisms. Many of the endophytic organisms had the ability to synthesize Indole-3-acetic acid(IAA) varied from 0.7 µg/ml (AIL1) to 51.0 µg/ml (AIL2) and the highest phosphate solubilizing ability was recorded with AIR3 (3.71 ppm) followed by AIR4 (3.00 ppm) and lowest was recorded by AIL4 (1.80 ppm). Among total isolates, AIL2 (51µg/ml) showed promising potential in producing IAA and had phosphate solubilization ability. Based on 16S ribosomal RNA molecular method the isolate AIL2 was identified as Bacillus altitudinis. This is the first to report that B.altitudinis strain AIL2 isolated from A.ilicifolius L. could produce IAA, which can be used as a bioinoculant in agriculture and allied sector
