    Estimation of Percentage on Malnutrition Occurrences in East Java Using Geographically Weighted Regression Model

    The Province of East Java has its own characteristics that differentiate it from any other regions. Dissimilarities in characteristics of a region may encompass issues such as social, economic, cultural, parenting, education, and the environment, so as to cause the difference in case of severe under nutrition between one region to another. Sufferers of malnutrition in one region may be linked and influenced by the surrounding regions. Therefore, we need a statistical modeling that is able to take into account the spatial factor. Statistical methods that can be used to analyze the data and also takes into account the spatial factor are the Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR). This study is aimed to determine the case of malnutrition models in East Java Province using GWR model with kernel adaptive bi-square weighting and comparing it to the conventional linear regression model.  The data used in the study are secondary data obtained from the National Socio-Economic Survey and Basic Health Research (2010) conducted in 38 districts in East Java. Estimation is done by using the Weighted Least Squares method that provides different weighting values to each region. The result showed that there are 38 models of the malnutrition case that is different for each district in East Java. The GWR model with bi-square kernel weighting function is better in modelling the case of malnutrition in East Java compared to the conventional linear regression models that are based on the criteria of goodness that is the R-square, Mean Square Error and the Akaike Information Criterion

    This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the scientific approach applied in geometry transformation material to improve the mathematical critical thinking skills of junior high school students. This research method uses classroom action research. The subjects of this study were students of class IX-B Pataruman Cihampelas junior high school with 12 male students and 8 female students, totaling 20 students. The stages of this research include; Planning, implementing actions, observing and evaluating, and reflecting. This stage is carried out repeatedly (cycles) until the desired student learning outcomes are achieved. In this study, there were 2 cycles. Where the first cycle is carried out online and the second cycle is carried out offline. To evaluate and measure student learning outcomes, test instruments are given in the form of description questions which are carried out before and after the action or often referred to as pretest and posttest. The results of this study indicate that the application of the scientific approach is considered effective to improve mathematical thinking skills in the material of geometric transformation in class IX-B of Pataruman junior high school

    Determinants of improved chickpea variety adoption in high barind region of Bangladesh

    Chickpea production in Bangladesh has been decreasing over time. Comprehensive farmlevel adoption of modern chickpea varieties can change the scenario. This paper endeavours to ascertain the determinants of adoption and adoption intensity of improved chickpea variety in the high barind region of Bangladesh. The outcomes from Cragg’s double hurdle model showed that organization membership, information sources, crop diversification index, and village location are the crucial factors that positively influenced both the adoption and adoption level. Farmers with organization membership are 15.5% more probable to adopt improved chickpea while by adding one more information source, the adoption probability can be increased by 6.3%. Meanwhile, women’s decisions, training, credit accessibility, and farm size have effects only in favour of initial adoption. The adoption probability is approximately 15% more in the household where women can participate in the decision-making process. Adopters with higher formal education, off-farm income, and mobile usage capability devote a greater proportion of their land to the improved variety cultivation. Strengthen of the network among farmers and their information sources should be emphasized to stimulate the diffusion process of the improved chickpea variety.     This research is a classroom action research conducted with 2 cycles. This research was conducted on Merger class students X TKJ and TKRO of SMK Dwi Putra Sindangkerta for the academic year 2022/2023 using a scientific approach. This study aims to determine classroom action research and understanding of mathematical concepts, especially the material equations and inequalities of linear absolute value of one variable using a scientific approach. In this study, the results of students' answers using data analysis techniques with qualitative analysis have four stages: 1). Data collection; 2). Data reduction; 3). Data presentation; 4). Conclusion. The first cycle's lack of student activity was demonstrated by the average score of 62.70 for all students, Student scores increased by 24.58 from the average initial test score of 38.12. In the second cycle test the results have increased the average score of 38.12, student scores climbed by 24.58. It can be concluded that the mastery of the concept of linear absolute value equations and inequalities of one variable in Merger X TKJ and TKRO class students at Dwi Putra Sindangkerta Vocational School has increased

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatan kreativitas belajar matematika melalui penerapan Metode Team Quiz pada siswa kelas V di SD Negeri 01 Gedong Kabupaten Karanganyar Tahun Pelajaran 2014/2015. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V SD Negeri 01 Gedong. Objek penelitian ini adalah kreativitas dan penerapan metode team quiz dalam pembelajaran matematika. Metode pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan menggunakan Triangulasi yaitu penggabungan data yang diperolah dengan cara observasi, angket, dan Dokumentasi.. Rancangan penelitian tindakan yang dipilih yaitu model siklus terdiri dari dua siklus, dengan teknik analisis data interaktif. Setiap siklus meliputi unsur perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi. Dari hasil analisis data menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kreativitas belajar matematika siswa melalui penerapan metode pembelajaran team quiz pada siswa kelas V SD Negeri 01 Gedong Kecamatan Karanganyar Kabupaten Karanganyar Tahun Pelajaran 2014/2015. Metode pembelajaran Team Quiz dapat meningkatkan kreativitas belajar siswa dengan persentase 46,9% pada pra siklus, meningkat menjadi 67,7% pada siklus I dan 88,1% pada siklus II

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan kemampuan kognitif anak melalui media berbasis alam. Jenis penelitiaan ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Prosedur penelitian ini terdiri dari empat rangkaian kegiatan yang dilakukan setiap siklus yaitu Perencanaan, Pelaksanaan Tindakan, Observasi dan Refleksi. Penelitian ini bersifat kolaboratif antara peneliti dengan guru kelas. Data yang diambil dalam penelitian ini berupa data kemampuan kognitif anak melalui media berbasis alam dikumpulkan melalui observasi, catatan lapangan dan dokumentasi. Subyek penelitian ini adalah guru dan anak Kelompok B TK Pertiwi Kroyo II Karangmalang, Sragen, yang berjumlah 20 anak. Teknik analisis data menggunakan teknik komparatif yaitu membandingkan rata-rata kemampuan anak dengan indikator yang ditargetkan setiap siklusnya. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah terjadi peningkatan kemampuan kognitif anak melalui media berbasis alam. Kemampuan kognitif anak pada pra-siklus mencapai 47 % , siklus I meningkat menjadi 71 % , dan siklus II menjadi 87 % . Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah pembelajaran yang bervariasi dalam pengembangan kognitif melalui media berbasis alam sangatlah penting bagi anak TK Pertiwi Kroyo II Karangmalang, Sragen.

    The purpose of the study was to determine the role of problem-based learning model to critical thinking ability and creative thinking ability. The subjects were students of semester IV Mathematics Education Study Program, University of Indraprasta PGRI, Jakarta in 2013/2014, in the subject of Basic Chemistry II. The selection of the class for this study was based on multistage random sampling. Experiments conducted on the sample of 30 experimental class students with problem-based learning model and 30 control class students with expository learning model. The data was collected by implementing tests of critical thinking ability and creative thinking ability with essay test. Analysis of research data using MANOVA support by SPSS. From the results of the study concluded that learning models give influence to the critical thinking ability and creative thinking ability together (F=21,815;p=0.000)
