User's guide to the Mission Analysis Evaluation and Space Trajectory Operations program (MAESTRO)
The MAESTRO system is a mission analysis tool designed to present to the user information necessary to make the various decisions required in the design and execution of a spaceflight mission. The system was designed so that it can be used in both the pre-launch mission planning phase of a mission and during the flight as an in-flight decision making tool. A description of each of the following modes is presented: (1) trajectory propagation mode; (2) retro-fire determination mode; (3) midcourse analysis determination mode; (4) Monte Carlo mode; (5) verification mode; (6) orbit stability mode; and (7) post injection trim mode. A description of the inputs necessary to run the program mode is given along with a sample case
Programmer's manual for the Mission Analysis Evaluation and Space Trajectory Operations program (MAESTRO)
The Mission Analysis Evaluation and Space Trajectory Operations program known as MAESTRO is described. MAESTRO is an all FORTRAN, block style, computer program designed to perform various mission control tasks. This manual is a guide to MAESTRO, providing individuals the capability of modifying the program to suit their needs. Descriptions are presented of each of the subroutines descriptions consist of input/output description, theory, subroutine description, and a flow chart where applicable. The programmer's manual also contains a detailed description of the common blocks, a subroutine cross reference map, and a general description of the program structure
Cells of the synovium in rheumatoid arthritis. Dendritic cells
Dendritic cells are the major antigen-presenting and antigen-priming cells of the immune system. We review the antigen-presenting and proinflammatory roles played by dendritic cells in the initiation of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and atherosclerosis, which complicates RA. Various signals that promote the activation of NF-κB and the secretion of TNF and IL-1 drive the maturation of dendritic cells to prime self-specific responses, and drive the perpetuation of synovial inflammation. These signals may include genetic factors, infection, cigarette smoking, immunostimulatory DNA and oxidized low-density lipoprotein, with major involvement of autoantibodies. We propose that the pathogenesis of RA and atherosclerosis is intimately linked, with the vascular disease of RA driven by similar and simultaneous triggers to NF-κB

SPARC Controls Melanoma Cell Plasticity through Rac1.
Cell transition to a more aggressive mesenchymal-like phenotype is a hallmark of cancer progression that involves different steps and requires tightly regulated cell plasticity. SPARC (Secreted Protein Acidic and Rich in Cysteine) is a matricellular protein that promotes this transition in various malignant cell types, including melanoma cells. We found that suppression of SPARC expression in human melanoma cells compromised cell migration, adhesion, cytoskeleton structure, and cell size. These changes involved the Akt/mTOR pathway. Re-expression of SPARC or protein addition restored all the cell features. Suppression of SPARC expression was associated with increased Rac1-GTP levels and its membrane localization. Expression of the dominant negative mutant of Rac1 counteracted almost all the changes observed in SPARC-deficient cells. Overall, these data suggest that most of the SPARC-mediated effects occurred mainly through the blockade of Rac1 activity.Fil: Salvatierra Colussi, Edgardo Enrique. On the Lie symmetries of a class of generalized Ermakov systems
The symmetry analysis of Ermakov systems is extended to the generalized case
where the frequency depends on the dynamical variables besides time. In this
extended framework, a whole class of nonlinearly coupled oscillators are viewed
as Hamiltonian Ermakov system and exactly solved in closed form
‘I just found your blog’. The pragmatics of initiating comments on blog posts
In computer-mediated communication, the medium of blogs is typically viewed as consisting of posts composed by blog authors and comments which may be left by their readers. This study explores the relationship between these constituent parts of blogs and investigates the pragmatic ties that are established between blog posts and comments. The focus is on the preface position in comments, that is the very first position at the onset of a comment, to discover how they are generally introduced and which specific linguistic constructions are used to initiate them. The aim is to uncover how speaker changes – from blog author to commenter – are signalled linguistically, in addition to the blog specific metadata provided by the interface (e.g. the username or time stamp), and which pragmatic means are used to develop interpersonal relationships between users. Results show that the preface position of blog comments is fertile ground for the occurrence of expressive speech acts with commenters often initiating their comments by thanking or complimenting blog authors, which opens up further opportunity for the study of speech acts in large corpora
Adiabatic Invariants and Scalar Fields in a de Sitter Space-Time
The method of adiabatic invariants for time dependent Hamiltonians is applied
to a massive scalar field in a de Sitter space-time. The scalar field ground
state, its Fock space and coherent states are constructed and related to the
particle states. Diverse quantities of physical interest are illustrated, such
as particle creation and the way a classical probability distribution emerges
for the system at late times.Comment: 9 pages, Latex, no figure
