The Issue of Interdependence in Energy Relations between the Czech Republic and the Russian Federation and the Activity of the European Union

The article deals with the theory of interdependence and its application to energy relations between the Czech Republic and Russia to explain why the existing framework of energy relations can determine Russian energy policy towards the Czech Republic and which policy decisions of Russia may represent a threat to Czech energy security. The text argues that the problem lies in the fact of asymmetrical interdependence, which is a source of power of Russia and has resulted in sensitivity and vulnerability of the Czech Republic’s energy security. The paper also examines how the European Union as a whole can contribute to a change of the framework for energy relations between the Czech Republic and Russia, and thus to a partial reduction of sensitivity and vulnerability of the Czech Republic, as well as Russian ability to influence its energy security

The European Union as an Energy Actor

This article focuses on the relationship between the EU actorness and the internal and external dimension of energy policy in an effort to conceptualize the EU energy actorness. In this respect, the main goals of the article are two. The first is to identify the basic aspects of EU actorness and to define their interrelationship in energy policy. The second is to conceptualize individual criteria of the external and internal dimensions of EU energy actorness and to analyze the possibilities of their use in the context of the discussion between conventional constructivism and rationalism. The intention is to create a modified framework incorporating the internal and external dimension of the EU’s energy actorness, operationalized by a set of criteria that can be used to analyze the EU energy policy and its relations. The article should contribute to understanding the issue of the EU’s actorness and to deepening the debate on energy policy

Relations between the European Union and the Russian Federation in the Natural Gas Sector

The issue of the security of gas supplies remains one of the major areas of EU-Russian energy relations. The aim of this article is to define and analyze the framework of EU-Russian gas relations. The text is based on the assumption that it is possible to define gas relations between Russia and the EU not as the unilateral energy dependency of one side on the other but as mutual dependence. For this reason, the article deals with the theory of interdependence and its application to EU-Russian gas relations. The paper also examines two possible scenarios for the development of gas relations between the EU and Russia

Handling Conveyor for Microfilters

Robert Brázda, Ph.D. Diplomová práce se zabývá návrhem manipulačního zařízení pro přepravu mikrofiltrů. Úvodní část je věnována rešerši dopravních a manipulačních zařízení vhodných pro přepravu velmi malých kusovitých dílů. Následně je navrhované zařízení rozděleno na tři úseky, a pro každý úsek je zvoleno vhodné řešení. Zvolené řešení je následně pro každý úsek rozpracováno tak, aby bylo dosaženo požadovaných parametrů a vlastností. Detailní návrh a výpočty jsou provedeny pro manipulační dopravník a jeho části, dále je pak proveden návrh a výpočet pneumatického zařízení pro separaci mikrofiltrů. The introductory part is devoted to research of transport and handling equipment suitable for the transport of very small pieces. Subsequently, the proposed device is divided into three parts, and a suitable solution is chosen for each section. The selected solution is then developed for each section to achieve the required parameters and properties. Detailed design and calculations are performed for the belt conveyor and its parts, then the design and calculation of a pneumatic device for the separation of microfilters is performed. Design of Equipment for Volume Filling Bags with Various Agricultural Commodities

Předmětem této bakalářské práce je variantní návrh plnícího zařízení pro objemové plnění pytlů zemědělskými komoditami. Úvodní část této bakalářské práce je věnována popisu možných variant objemového plnění pytlů zemědělskými komoditami. Následující část obsahuje technologické výpočty a variantní návrh konstrukce zařízení, využívající se pro objemové plnění pytlů, o velikosti 50x80 cm, 56x80 cm a 56x110 cm, kukuřicí,pšenicí a sójovými boby. Dalšími kroky jsou: pevnostní kontrola zatěžovaných součástí, výběr vhodných komponent a variantní výpočet dopravního výkonu daného plnícího zařízení. Výsledný návrh zařízení pro objemové plnění pytlů zemědělskými komoditami je dokumentován ve výkresové části této bakalářské práce.The subject of this bachelor thesis is a variant design of a filling device for filling bags with agricultural commodities. The introductory part of this bachelor thesis is devoted to description of possible variants of volume filling of bags with agricultural commodities. The following part contains technological calculations and a variant design of the device used for volume bags filling, size 50x80 cm, 56x80 cm and 56x110 cm, with corn, wheat and soya. Porozumění energetickým vztahúm mezi EU a Ruskem

Problematika energetické spolupráce je bezesporu jedním z nejčastěji diskutovaných témat stávajících vztahů mezi Evropskou unií a Ruskou federací. Na jednu stranu energetika představuje hlavní faktor v posilování formálních a neformálních vztahů EU-Rusko. Na druhou stranu otázka bezpečných energetických dodávek způsobuje pnutí mezi EU a Ruskem a přispívá ke zhoršení vzájemných vztahů. Faktorů, které brání v rozvoji vzájemné energetické kooperace mezi EU a Ruskem existuje celá řada a liší se podle toho, jak která strana spolupráci vnímá a interpretuje. The Czech debate on the external dimension of energy security and national interest

Energy security is one of the most topical and important issues, both at the EU and member states level. This is a fact, not only in the context of climate change policy and common energy market design, but also in the light of the dynamics of EU external energy relations, with the latter recently gaining in importance. The Czech discourse on energy security is no exception and mirrors the development in the EU-wide debate. This claim is based not only on the analysis of events and the subsequent debate on energy security in the Czech Republic regarding the period from 2006 to 2010 (e.g. the natural gas crisis, Presidency of the Council of the EU, the question of energy import dependence), i.e. the period between the last two parliamentary elections with minor overlaps, but also on the three applied criteria of national interest – relevance, consensus, and external acceptability. The discourse on external energy relations of the Czech Republic is relevant, shows signs of consensus, and, from an EU perspective, could be considered as acceptable. Je Evropská unie energetický aktér ve vztazích s vybranými zeměmi subsaharské Afriky?

Hlavním cílem článku je pomocí unijního konceptu vnějšího aktérství analyzovat energetické vztahy EU vůči současným (Angola, Gabon a Nigérie) a potenciálním dodavatelům (Mosambik, Tanzanie a Keňa) v subsaharské Africe v období let 2007 – 2017 s důrazem na možnosti posílení energetické bezpečnosti. Smyslem článku je zjistit, zda je EU vnímána jako svébytný aktér mezinárodních energetických vztahů, nebo zda jsou tyto energetické vztahy stále doménou jednotlivých evropských států. Článek v rámci unijního aktérství dále analyzuje cíle, zájmy a nástroje, jež EU ve své energetické politice sleduje a využívá vůči těmto zemím subsaharské Afriky. Článek používá modifikovanou podobu vnějšího energetického aktérství EU založeného na třech kritériích, jimž jsou: (1) vnímání aktéra třetí stranou, (2) cíle a zájmy politiky, a (3) zdroje a nástroje politiky
