New analogue switch circuit having very low forward resistance
A new circuit realisation for an analogue switch is reported. The main feature of the proposed design is the low value of the forward resistance as compared with commercial switches. Experimental data confirming the performance of the circuit are also included
STRATEGY-PROOF MECHANISMS WITH PRIVATE AND PUBLIC GOODS
In this paper we develop a differentiable approach to deal with incentives in a, possibly small, subset of a general domain of preferences in economies with one public and one private good. We show that, for two agents, there is no social rule which is efficient, nondictatorial and strategy-proof. For the case of more agents the same result occurs when nondictatorship is replaced by Individual Rationality or by Envy-Freeness. Switched-capacitor neural networks for linear programming
A circuit for online solving of linear programming problems is presented. The circuit uses switched-capacitor techniques and is thus suitable for monolithic implementation. The connection of the proposed circuit to analogue neural networks is also outlined.Comisión Interministerial de Ciencia y Tecnología ME87-000
Chaos From Switched-Capacitor Circuits: Discrete Maps
A special-purpose analog computer made of switched-capacitor circuits is presented for analyzing chaos and bifurcation phenomena in nonlinear discrete dynamical systems modeled by discrete maps *n + t = fan)-Experimental results are given for four switched-capacitor circuits described by well-known discrete maps; namely, the logistic map, the piecewise-linear unimodal (one-hump) map, the H é non map, and the Lozi map
Chaos via a piecewise-linear switch ed-capacitor circuit
A nonlinear switched-capacitor circuit that generates chaotic signals is reported. The circuit is described by a first-order piecewise-linear discrete equation that exhibits a chaotic dynamics. Experimental results illustrating the circuit performance and its use as a noise generator are included.Comisión Interministerial de Ciencia y Tecnología 3467-8
On the structure of spaces of vector-valued Lipschitz functions
We analyse the strong connections between spaces of vector-valued Lipschitz
functions and spaces of linear continuous operators. We apply these links to
study duality, Schur properties and norm attainment in the former class of
spaces as well as in their canonical predualsComment: 22 page
Nonlinear Switched-Capacitor Networks: Basic Principles and Piecewise-Linear Design
The applicability of switched-capacitor (SC) components to the design of nonlinear networks is extensively discussed in this paper. The main objective is to show that SC's can be efficiently used for designing nonlinear networks. Moreover, the design methods to be proposed here are fully compatible with general synthesis methods for nonlinear n -ports. Different circuit alternatives are given and their potentials are evaluated.Office of Naval Research (USA) N00014-76-C-0572Comisión Interministerial de Ciencia y Tecnología 0235/81Semiconductor Research Corporation (USA) 82-11-00

Ontology of events vs. ontology of facts. About the current fissures betwenn the continental and analytic traditions
We have, since the beginning of the 20th century, been witness to a conflict between two philosophical traditions: the analytic and the continental. This essay tries to show that between them there exists an ontological gap that endures in our days: a incommensurability between the continental ontology of events and the analytic ontology of facts. The autor shall try to give shape to this central thesis in three steps. He start with a diagnosis of the continental ontology of events in connection with problems of the philosophy of mind. He thereby regard as exemplary the conflict between a phenomenological conception on the one hand and the positions of Dennett and likewise Searle on the other. He shall then try to demonstrate the way in which this ontology persists in continental philosophy through various transformations, in a process which he shall describe as “a locating of sense in the world”. Finally, the essay analyze the contrast of this ontology with the project of the naturalization of meaning in the analytic line of thought, a project that presupposes the ontology of facts.
